My husband spent two weeks at Beech Lodge and for me to have some respite as his sole carer. He was very well cared for in every way. The staff got to know him very quickly, and they have even called me to ask about his background since he has dementia and could not tell them his life story himself. I hope he can go back to Beech Lodge in the future.

Beech Lodge provided a loving and caring home for my relatives. The Staff were wonderfully kind and patient. Their end of life care was very loving and dignified.

Can't thank them enough for their support and care through some trying times.

My mum moved to Beech Lodge in February after a spell in hospital. She had some serious underlying health problems and dementia and had become increasingly confused over the previous few months. Beech Lodge was meant to be a step-down bed before potentially moving back home but it was quickly apparent she would probably be staying there long term. My father has stayed in a number of well-regarded care homes and all I can say is that Beech Lodge is to my mind more friendly, welcoming and caring in almost every way. Every time I visited it was clear that all the staff were fully engaged with the residents in a personal, friendly and supportive way. Mum could be quite challenging at times but the staff quickly formed a positive relationship with her which made her time as Beech Lodge as positive as it could be. Unfortunately mum passed away recently but despite the Coronavirus restrictions, everything was handled wonderfully at the end and I'm very grateful to all the staff involved.

Really grateful for the great care our dear friend and my Dad's long term partner received at Beech Lodge. The carers treated her with kindness, dignity and respect. They went way above what I could have hoped for. She could be challenging at times but the carers showed endless amounts of patience and offered holistic personalised care to ensure her comfort and wellbeing. She was only at Beech Lodge for five weeks before sadly passing away. Despite the sadness I am truly grateful she died in such a caring environment and will always be appreciative of all staff's kindness and support to me and my family.

My mum was a resident at Beech Lodge in January/February 2020 when she passed away, she always said she was very happy here. The carers are very friendly, hard-working and took as much time as possible with my mum and the residents. Food was first class and the kitchen staff varied the food, which was to a high standard and knew all the residents by name. Management was mingling with the staff and residents and ready to answer any query's we had.

My mum was a resident at beech lodge from August 2016 to January 2020 when she passed away, she was very happy here and had a good rapport with the staff. The carers are very friendly, extremely hard working and take as much time as possible with the residents. Food was plentiful and the kitchen staff are always attentive, even the maintenance man was friendly and polite to residents. My only bad point I think would be the entrance is awful to drive in and out onto the main road. Management changed a lot while Mum was here which was not a good thing for either staff morale or for relatives, as I felt you just got used to one and they left. Activities were not very good but I think this was due to not enough time for staff to do everything.

My father was placed in the care home after a spell in hospital and to give my mother, his main carer, a rest due to her ill health. This was my father's first experience of staying in a care home. On my mother's and myself first visit, we were struck by how caring and dignified the staff's attitude was towards the residents and my father. The home always appeared very clean and there was no hint of any disagreeable smells, which is not always the case. Over the month we visited, standards did not appear to dip in any respect. The staff were professional at all times. Too often, local authority care homes receive a bad press. In the case of Beech Lodge, St Austell, we can only praise the care my father received.

Can not praise the staff highly enough, they make such a difference to the atmosphere of the home. When visiting, it has always been warm and welcoming. Set in beautiful grounds with stunning views. The entrance to this property is quite dangerous though and often hard to pull out of when the weather is wet and slippery.

My mum has been in Beech Lodge since the end of October 2019 and has settled in nicely. She is treated with care and respect and the staff are lovely to her. The management always makes time to discuss any questions we have and are very quick to resolve any problems we may have. Mum's room is very cosy and well furnished. I have noticed the staff are caring and polite when helping other residents less able with dignity and sensitivity. However, it would be nice to see more quality activities for mum to enjoy.

On visiting Beech Lodge (which I visited very often this past 18 months ) I always found the staff very welcoming and pleased to see me no what time of day I turned up! Beech Lodge has a very homely feel and I was usually offered a cup of tea which was most welcome.
I have witnessed the changes taking place for the good of the residents in the last 9 months or so, especially with regards to activities.
The staff were always ready to listen to and act upon any concerns I had regarding my friend's health which I really appreciated considering I was not a relative.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they gave to my 2 lovely friends and I miss not going in to visit staff and residents anymore.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and compassion shown to my relative during her stay at the care home. They were kind, considerate and treated her with dignity. Over the last 8 months, the home has made changes and made significant improvements, especially in the activities run for the residents. Though my relative could not take part in these activities, they had a very beneficial effect on the other residents.

Given that budget cuts affect every care home, this one does its best to make residents comfortable and feel that they are human beings worthy of respect and kindness.

My Nan is very happy living at Beech Lodge, she refers to the staff as family and cannot speak highly enough of them. The carers are very professional, helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond to make my nan comfortable and are always quick to resolve any problems or concerns we may have. I cannot speak highly enough of Beech Lodge.

Quality of care from all staff excellent.
Not an easy building to work with but all staff quickly got to know residents and had a genuine interest.

Only major problem is access to/ from main road.

My mum lived at Beech Lodge for only 5 months and in that time she was mostly happy. She was very well cared for and the staff loved her as she did them. The staff work well together as a team and are very good at what they do. I would like to thank them all for caring for my mum and all keep up the good caring work you do. Bless you all.

Having struggled to get my mother moved from what I, being ignorant of these matters, considered to be a "bad" home, to Beech Lodge I am so very pleased!

Her room is new, the team there helped me put up her picture and mementoes from home and to make her room a real "home from home". The care staff and food are excellent. Mum is safe and happy.

My aunt moved to Beech Lodge after no longer being able to come home to be cared for. She has been to Beech Lodge for respite in the past so was glad to be able to come back to familiarity.

The staff welcomed her back as if she'd never been away. They treat my aunt with dignity and respect and support her needs well as she is registered blind. I'm glad she has come back to Beech Lodge the staff are lovely.
