We have found using the app very reassuring, didn’t realise that at times Dad is refusing care, not that he is not offered care. Have some concern regarding security as Dad was found out in the car park, having worked out how to use the number on the keypad on the front door. The number remains the
same, but I feel this should probably be changed and displayed less obviously. Luckily no harm was done.
Since the new manager has been managing Caprera, lots of things have been improved. There seem to be quite a few more staff who are really lovely and very caring. I notice that the checks for MUST, Waterlow and etc. are all done much more regularly, helping to pick up any problems quickly. Dad has been encouraged to join in the activities and seems to enjoy these when he is in the mood. The staff are dealing with Dad’s behavioural problems in a very empathetic way, we know that he can be difficult and hope that medication may be able to help him in future. Thank you all very much.

My mum has been a resident of Caprera Care Home for several years now.
Mum has dementia.
She has had her own room on the top floor of the building and she really likes her room. Mum is still very mobile and manages stairs very well. She recently moved into a bigger room but Mum couldn't settle so
she is back in her old room where she is much happier.
Mum is very settled in Caprera however a couple of years ago her behaviour became challenging but the staff were excellent in coping with this and looked after Mum well and kept her safe.
Covid was very difficult for all and Mum couldn't understand why we couldn't visit, it was a distressing time but Caprera staff, again, looked after Mum so well, it was reassuring for the family at this scary time.
Visiting times are all day, every day which is good for our family as we all work different hours and shifts.
I feel reassured that Mum is being looked after well and she is kept safe.
Well done Caprera.

I am always impressed by the way I am greeted on arrival at Caprera Care Home, whoever opens the door knows who I have come to visit and where she is. The staff are very approachable and friendly and their interaction with the residents is very nice to see. Caprera is very clean and there are no unpleasant,
lingering smells which I find very important. The noticeboard is very informative as to what is going on so I can see what is on offer for Mum to participate in or just to watch. The residents all seem comfortable in their surroundings and look well cared for, with no food-stained clothing or mismatched attire. The home is well furnished and decorated with good contrast of colours and not much clutter around for people to bump into. There always seems to be staff on hand to help and assist and I can ask any questions without being made to feel a nuisance. I am kept informed about Mum by phone and when I email Caprera the response is very quick.

Mum settled in Caprera Care Home really quickly, she was made to feel very welcome. All the staff are very friendly and caring and always on hand if we need any advice. My life is so much easier now I don't have to worry about her as I know she is well looked after and she loves the food!

All of the staff are polite, respectful and diligent, they work wonderfully as a team.
They have taken the time to learn my wife's needs and support her very well.
There is generous light, bright space within the buildings and the home has a secluded yet very generous garden area.
Overall, my wife
appears significantly happier since arriving at Caprera Care Home eight weeks ago.

My stepmother has been a resident at Caprera for the last 4 1/2 years as she became unable to look after herself independently. She has severe Alzheimer’s now which has affected her behaviour - this is at times extremely challenging. I have been really impressed by the way the staff have cared for
her, showing extraordinary levels of sympathy, patience and tolerance at times, always absolutely professional. She can be very difficult to please but she is happy living there and understands she is being well looked after which is a huge comfort to me as I live a long way away and am unable to visit regularly. They go to great lengths to ensure she has company, often 1:1 and make every effort to ensure she is as safe. I am also grateful for the time they spend chatting to me on the phone about how she is. We have been so lucky to get her a place here - thank you to all the staff!

My mother moved into Caprera at the beginning of lockdown in March 2020 at a very difficult time in her life, having recently lost her husband. She settled in very quickly, and, despite all of the hardships that the coronavirus pandemic has inflicted on everyone, she has been well cared for and is happy.
The staff and management are all very kind and friendly and look after all of her needs. She has a very pleasant room with good facilities and loves the company of the carers and other residents. Restrictions on visits have been a frustration both for her and for me, but the home has done its best to facilitate contact where possible. It's good to know that she is in such safe and capable hands - thank you to everyone for your warmth and dedication.

When you are faced with the prospect of care being needed for a relative, it's a daunting task. My mother moved to Caprera in October 2019. I won't deny that it was hard for me, but the care and attention to their residents is excellent. We've all been through an abnormal time in the last year and although
I haven't been able to have as much contact with my mother in this time (along with other relatives), I, personally, can't thank the staff of Caprera enough (and I mean everyone, from management to cleaners) for the fact that they have done a sterling job in keeping everyone safe, keeping families in touch and making sure that all their residents are happy. Thank you so very, very much.

Dad has been a resident at Caprera for a year and in that time my family and I couldn't fault the commitment of the management and staff. Everyone is kind, considerate and mindful of dad's needs. Caprera is clean, warm, friendly and always welcoming.

As relatives, we are kept well informed and consulted

about dad's care. We would like to thank everyone at Caprera; we couldn't think more highly of them and we don't know where we would be without them.

My mother has been a resident at Caprera Care Home for the last four years and I've been extremely impressed and grateful for the level of care she has received there. Staff are always extremely professional in their duties, as well as kind, patient and attentive towards the residents. Residents' private
rooms are spacious and well-designed, as are the main communal rooms. There's also a lovely back garden.

The most important thing for me, though, is the level of personal care that staff have given my mother (who has complex medical needs) - you know that staff genuinely care about the residents and treat them professionally but with much affection and good humour. I know that my mother is very comfortable and well-looked after, and this is a huge relief for me and other family members. Management are also very good at keeping family members informed on matters of relevance.

All in all, I couldn't ask for more and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Caprera Care Home.

My mum has been living at Caprera Rest Home for some time now and feels very settled. It is important for me to know that she is receiving good care and support as I live some distance away and therefore I am not able to visit on a daily or weekly basis.

Staff at Caprera are extremely dedicated and kind in looking after my mother and addressing her multiple needs. Getting her to take sufficient food is a struggle sometimes, but her weight and general health is closely monitored. Staff are also very good at keeping us updated as to her wellbeing.
