My wife has vascular dementia and has been in this care home for two years. I have noted how good and considerate the management and staff have been to the residents, giving them genuine loving care.

The care home is spotlessly clean and the food is varied and delicious, indeed I have eaten with my wife on several occasions and enjoyed every meal.

Reply from Nikki Rogers, Director at Bishopsteignton House

It is lovely to hear that you and your wife are very happy with the care that is provided at Bishopsteignton House, the facilities on offer and that you would be highly likely to recommend the home.

Feel happy with my mother's care overall. Home welcoming and lovely setting and gardens. The majority of staff very caring, just seem very busy with the workload. Mum seems happy and settled but because she is reluctant to leave her room I feel she sometimes misses out on the care and attention because of the business of staff.

Reply from Nikki Rogers, Director at Bishopsteignton House

I am sorry to hear that you feel some of what the home offers is either poor or just satisfactory, although I am pleased that you feel that the care your mother receives is good and that she is happy in the home. I have passed on your comments to the home's manager and I hope that she can now look at ways in which to improve the areas of concern.

I have found the caring for my mother and the understanding of staff have for her completely and without exception, wonderful. As she is getting older she is needing more care and understanding and they give her that. This also helps me so much knowing that my Mum is as happy as she can be and I don't have to feel guilty or worry about her being in Bishopsteignton House. I always get a telephone call if there is a problem with Mum, like a fall and have trust in them. The staff also have the much-needed sense of humour.

Overall Experience

My brother was a resident at Bishopsteignton House for just over two months. I am his only relative and live in the East of England so was only able to visit him on a couple of occasions. The care he received was wonderful. All the staff were very caring and made the last weeks of his life happy and comfortable. Their support for me at this difficult time was excellent. All members of staff were kind and reassuring and I was kept informed. I cannot thank them enough.

Overall Experience

Mum took up residence in March after accepting the need for 24-hour care. This was not going to be provided whilst still living at home. The move to Bishopsteignton House was not without it's difficulties and challenges, but gradual acceptance of the new surroundings, and an appreciation of the new regime took place. My sister and I have been extremely grateful for the care and compassion shown - such a huge weight off our minds. My mother enjoys the friendliness of the staff and the warmth, comfort and outstanding views from her room. It has now become a home from home.
