My mother has been a resident for the last 6 months. It was a big change for her from living on her own at mid-90s. It took her a while to settle in, but the staff were very kind and supportive and gave her time and space to "find her feet." She is now well settled, loves her room, and participates
in lots of afternoon activities. She now has a social life and loves the company and the staff.

My grandad has respite care at Dove Court. He had lovely food and was taken out on trips most days. The room he had was very nice and there is a lovely view from the conservatory. The staff are very kind and they looked after him well. They cooked English breakfast for him whenever he wanted and nothing
was too much trouble.

Every time I have visited Dove Court, it has been very clean and tidy. It also smells good (have visited other homes which have smelt horrible). Staff have been very friendly and very efficient. Food looks amazing. There is also lots for residents to do. Singing, wine and cheese and many more. Days
out, hairdresser. I would highly recommend this care home, and the way they handled Covid is and was exceptional. Rooms are beautiful.

Wonderful, home from home, nothing is too much trouble. There has always been someone to talk to. The food is delicious and very varied. The staff are very friendly, they are all marvellous. The activities remind me of memories with my husband. I felt uneasy coming here but I had no need, it's home
from home and there is nowhere I would rather be now.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they have provided for my nan. My nan, when well, would pay a lot of money to receive the activities she does daily here. Despite Nan being unwell, it's almost like a holiday here for her with all the stimulation. The food and drink is 5-stars. I am so thankful
for the care she receives and how much I have been included in her care.

I really cannot recommend Dove Court too highly. My mum has been a resident for a few years now; she initially joined the Dove Court on a temporary basis following a fall at home. At that stage, she was fiercely independent, but she quickly came to appreciate the care she would continue to receive if
she stayed with them as a permanent arrangement. In the time she has been with them, her condition has evolved but I am never in any doubt whatsoever that she receives the optimal possible care and attention from the staff (who are, quite frankly, astonishingly dedicated and determined to give of the very best to those in their charge.) Food, companionship and oversight/ medical care are all first-class. If anyone is reading this considering making a transition into residential accommodation, I strongly urge them to approach Dove Court- they won't find anywhere better. My mum and I are both extremely fortunate that we made that initial telephone call.

Eight weeks ago I arrived confused, bewildered and needed help with everything. General care, laundry, cooking, medical care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, pain relief. However, I know now that I needed everything which this home supplies.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.900)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.900) out of 10 for Dove Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.975 for Dove Court is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 204 Ratings = 4.975
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dove Court is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
