I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they have provided for my nan. My nan, when well, would pay a lot of money to receive the activities she does daily here. Despite Nan being unwell, it's almost like a holiday here for her with all the stimulation. The food and drink is 5-stars. I am so thankful for the care she receives and how much I have been included in her care.

I really cannot recommend Dove Court too highly. My mum has been a resident for a few years now; she initially joined the Dove Court on a temporary basis following a fall at home. At that stage, she was fiercely independent, but she quickly came to appreciate the care she would continue to receive if she stayed with them as a permanent arrangement. In the time she has been with them, her condition has evolved but I am never in any doubt whatsoever that she receives the optimal possible care and attention from the staff (who are, quite frankly, astonishingly dedicated and determined to give of the very best to those in their charge.) Food, companionship and oversight/ medical care are all first-class. If anyone is reading this considering making a transition into residential accommodation, I strongly urge them to approach Dove Court- they won't find anywhere better. My mum and I are both extremely fortunate that we made that initial telephone call.

Eight weeks ago I arrived confused, bewildered and needed help with everything. General care, laundry, cooking, medical care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, pain relief. However, I know now that I needed everything which this home supplies.

Dove Court care home provides the type of care for my mother in law that provides me with the peace of mind that she is well looked after by a caring staff who are concerned not only for her health but more importantly for her overall happiness and contentment. The amount of activities provided for stimulus never ceases to amaze me. I often visit and never get the impression of being in an institution. The atmosphere is more akin to a family gathering with each resident treated as an individual rather than a patient or a room occupant.

Our mother received the most wonderful care, we always saw her looking so content and serene. Her upstairs room was perfect, overlooking the estuary and sea, with the occasional seagull. It was just as if she was at home. Dove Court made us feel so welcome, part of their family. For us, they are a beacon, exemplifying dignified and outstanding care of our loved ones as they age. Thank you for all you do.

Overall Experience
Dove Court is an outstanding care home. The facility itself is lovely with a number of the resident rooms providing amazing amenities - such as direct access to the garden and a personal patio area - but in truth, it is the staff that make this facility extraordinary. The staff genuinely treat the residents like they are a member of their own family. Nothing is too much trouble. As you enter the home you will see a wall of plaques that recognise staff members with significant years of dedicated service. This says a lot about a place of employment. Aged care is notorious for the churn of staff as the work is hard and at times can be undervalued as it not considered the 'sexy, exciting' end of the spectrum of healthcare and yet here is Dove Court with numerous staff members having given five plus years.

The care team is collegiate and passionate about the care they provide. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The staff at Dove Court genuinely put the big 'C' into Care.

Since my mother moved into Dove Court we have been extremely happy with the excellent care provided. The staff are always willing to help; they are friendly, polite and genuinely care for my Mother (and us a family). My Mother appears to have settled very happily - she always looks very neat and cared for and tells us that she likes the food. The move to Dove COurt has been a very positive experience for my Mother and the whole family.

After being badly let down by another care provider in the area, I needed to find an alternative renew for temporary respite care for myself. I was drawn to Dove Court by their previous CQC rating of outstanding and by the many favourable and positive reviews on this website. I am so thankful I found Dove Court as I had a most enjoyable stay there. I was very impressed with the consistently high standard of care. the warm and friendly atmosphere in the home, the varied and enjoyable activities and frequent outings in the minibus vehicle, that is adapted for wheelchair users. Overall, a wonder and a very therapeutic stay. I feel so refreshed.

Amanda Job Title:ManagerJoined: 2017

My name is Amanda and I became the manager for Dove Court in April 2024.

I have worked for the company since 2017. I came on board as an assistant manager and progressed to a manager.

I have always worked in the care profession since I was 19 years old and I thoroughly enjoy it.

I enjoy ensuring the residents are empowered to make day-to-day decisions over their lives and believe safeguarding is of the utmost importance.

I’m glad that Doveleigh Care can make a difference in so many people’s lives – staff and residents included.

Nikii
Nikii Job Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2021

My name is Nikii and I am Dove Court’s Deputy Manager.

I started working in Domiciliary care in 2014 and progressed to a supervisor and eventually a Care Coordinator.

I wanted a change from working in the community so started working in a care home as a senior carer in 2021, during the COVID pandemic.

I have been at Dove Court since late 2021 and have just been promoted to deputy manager this April.

I love to make a difference in people’s lives and enjoy providing good support and guidance to staff members.
