Eight weeks ago I arrived confused, bewildered and needed help with everything. General care, laundry, cooking, medical care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, pain relief. However, I know now that I needed everything which this home supplies.

Dove Court care home provides the type of care for my mother in law that provides me with the peace of mind that she is well looked after by a caring staff who are concerned not only for her health but more importantly for her overall happiness and contentment. The amount of activities provided for
stimulus never ceases to amaze me. I often visit and never get the impression of being in an institution. The atmosphere is more akin to a family gathering with each resident treated as an individual rather than a patient or a room occupant.

Our mother received the most wonderful care, we always saw her looking so content and serene. Her upstairs room was perfect, overlooking the estuary and sea, with the occasional seagull. It was just as if she was at home. Dove Court made us feel so welcome, part of their family. For us, they are a beacon,
exemplifying dignified and outstanding care of our loved ones as they age. Thank you for all you do.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Dove Court is an outstanding care home. The facility itself is lovely with a number of the resident rooms providing amazing amenities - such as direct access to the garden and a personal patio area - but in truth, it is the staff that make this facility extraordinary. The staff genuinely treat the residents
like they are a member of their own family. Nothing is too much trouble. As you enter the home you will see a wall of plaques that recognise staff members with significant years of dedicated service. This says a lot about a place of employment. Aged care is notorious for the churn of staff as the work is hard and at times can be undervalued as it not considered the 'sexy, exciting' end of the spectrum of healthcare and yet here is Dove Court with numerous staff members having given five plus years.
The care team is collegiate and passionate about the care they provide. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The staff at Dove Court genuinely put the big 'C' into Care.

Since my mother moved into Dove Court we have been extremely happy with the excellent care provided. The staff are always willing to help; they are friendly, polite and genuinely care for my Mother (and us a family). My Mother appears to have settled very happily - she always looks very neat and cared
for and tells us that she likes the food. The move to Dove COurt has been a very positive experience for my Mother and the whole family.

After being badly let down by another care provider in the area, I needed to find an alternative renew for temporary respite care for myself. I was drawn to Dove Court by their previous CQC rating of outstanding and by the many favourable and positive reviews on this website. I am so thankful I found
Dove Court as I had a most enjoyable stay there. I was very impressed with the consistently high standard of care. the warm and friendly atmosphere in the home, the varied and enjoyable activities and frequent outings in the minibus vehicle, that is adapted for wheelchair users. Overall, a wonder and a very therapeutic stay. I feel so refreshed.

My father has only been at Dove Court a very short time but I have been very impressed by how quickly all the staff have developed a rapport with both my father and the family.
All the staff have been exemplary. Staff are amazing - one stayed an extra two hours to sort out a problem we had!
Rooms
are well equipped, spacious and very homely. Having a little patio garden makes it extra special.

Clean, relaxed and freshly hatched chicks to hold, not only the resident's attention but mine also. It gave my friend a chance to talk to the other residents as I know he can be guarded at first.

During the period my father was a resident at Dove Court he was treated with great respect and provided with excellent care by the staff. The care home is in a lovely setting and always seems clean and welcoming. The resident's needs are always considered and there are lots of activities and excursions
provided. My father loved his time there. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My mum moved Dove Court as she wasn't coping at home after my father passed away. We are so pleased to have found Dove Court. My mum is very happy and the staff are excellent; nothing is too much trouble for them. They take great care of her and the food is excellent. I'm currently living overseas and
I'm confident that my mum is in excellent hands. The conservatory is lovely and my mum enjoys sitting there and talking to friends or reading. The patio is lovely for sitting out in the summer and enjoying the flowers and wonderful view. Overall we couldn't be happier with Dove Court.

My friend is treated with respect, care and compassion. There any many little areas where residents can sit without feeling they have all being lumped in a corner together. There is a huge conservatory overlooking Seaton estuary and the sea, with a patio to sit outside in nice weather.
In my many
visits, I have not once met a member of staff who isn’t friendly and polite with both me and the residents. They do a fantastic job and my friend who is a resident cannot praise them enough.
They have all taken the time to get to know her as a person and notice if she isn’t her usual self. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dove Court to anyone who is looking for care for a friend or relative.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.979)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.979) out of 10 for Dove Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.979 for Dove Court is calculated as follows: ( (236 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 240 Ratings = 4.979
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dove Court is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
