We have moved Mum back to Oak House after being less than happy with another care home
Mum is not the easiest to manage behaviour wise and Oak House have been very patient with her in spite of this.
The staff are friendly and helpful and know their residents well
The care given to Mum is as good as could be with her problems and she is treated as a part of a family and shown love and affection.
I find Oak House very clean and usually smells lovely.

Michelle is a good communicator and lets us know changes and problems

Overall Experience
My 80 year old mum was alone and struggling to cope with life. She wasn't managing her medication and the many associated episodes were becoming difficult for family and support services to manage. In desperation, I called Michelle at Oak House, who quickly put things in perspective for me. She arranged some respite while my wife and I went on holiday and mum never left.
Four months on and thanks to the team at Oak House, my mum is living again ! She isn't lonely any more, has her diabetes under control and contributes actively.
I can't praise highly enough the Oak House team for the love they have shown mum. This place isn't clinical or severe. It's homely and all the staff I've met genuinely care about their residents.

Well done Oak House x

Overall Experience

My review is restricted to short visits. During that time, the staff have been helpful and considerate. Games have been organized for patients, and attempts made to include all, creating a pleasant atmosphere in what otherwise could be described as a sombre setting. Fun was had by all, staff included. At times, tea has been served to visitors.

Overall Experience
We have been impressed by the care and understanding of our father and the family as a whole. We have all been embraced by the team and have been reassured by the professionalism and commitment the team has to its residents.
They have taken the time and given great attention to getting to know our father and working with him to meet his needs. He is well cared for, and all his needs are met. He has become so much more relaxed and happy since arriving at Oak House.
The activities run for the residents are carefully thought through with the aim to ensure that the residents do not feel alone at this time in their life and are made to feel at the centre of the staff's attention.

Oak House has a happy, family home feel, made possible by the professionalism, hard work and, most of all, kindness and meaningful care of the team to its residents, who are at the centre of all that they do.
