My Mother-in-law moved in 3 weeks ago, and I have found the staff really kind. The care has been excellent.
The home is very clean. Senior staff are helpful and supportive.
And I would highly recommend the home to anyone looking for a care home.

My father has been at Plymbridge House for almost 5 years now. He originally entered the home for 2 weeks of respite as he was struggling on his own. At home he had visiting carers twice a day but was not coping at all well and at the time, it didn't seem he had much time left for this world.
Once
at Plymbridge House care home he was reluctant to leave, he felt secure, and had care available and company there. He has remained at Plymbridge ever since and remains in good health almost 5 years later due to the care and support he receives.
The carers, seniors, admin, and managers have always been approachable, helpful, sportive and professional. I can only thank all at the home for their support to my father and to myself.

Every staff member is always willing to offer assistance. They have a smile and caring attitude regardless of the situation.
I visit during a weekday and often there is work in progress to improve the safety or conditions for the residents, so the home looks welcoming. I also notice the range of activities
that are on offer to ensure there is plenty of opportunities to live life to the full.
I always feel my Mother is being given the best care.
Many thanks to all the staff for their hard work and dedication.

The most outstanding aspect of Plymbridge House is the staff. The senior carers are totally focused on the residents. The care assistants, I haven't met one yet who I wouldn't trust with my Mother. She has always been treated with kindness and respect. The staff are always cheerful despite the long
hours. I have no hesitation in recommending Plymbridge House to anyone's parents or relatives needing care.

On searching around for a home for our father we were concerned as you always hope you have picked the right one. After 1wk of him being a resident we cannot stress how we feel we have struck gold. Everything the staff do is centred around making the residents feel at home and nothing is too much trouble.
Social activities are regular and socialising is encouraged. The facilities are excellent and the food is delicious. Residents' family and friends are encouraged to get as much involved as they wish to. I truly cannot find 1 negative regarding his care or the home. On each visit I find something more I'm impressed with!
I would really like to thank every member of staff for their help and professionalism.
Before looking anywhere else I would check this home out 1st.

Having placed my father in the care of Plymbridge House I've had nothing but positive things to say about it. It has exceeded all my expectations. It's not been an easy transition for myself as I've only ever seen my dad so mobile and independent. Everyone has been caring and patient with him encouraging
him to keep going with being mobile and sociable.
Home from home.

Excellent care and support. Nothing is too much trouble. Treated with dignity and respect at all times. The meals are very nutritious and varied each day. Residents are encouraged to participate in social activities on a daily basis. Entertainers come in regularly to sing to the residents and encourage
residents to participate. During the warmer months residents are encouraged to sit in the garden. Family and friends of residents are always made to feel welcome.

My mum has been there nearly 3 years, over the last 12 months she has needed more care, they couldn't do any more for her physically or mentally, they are wonderful and so understanding of my mum and myself, my mum loves the people that care for her which puts my mind at rest, she's nearly 95 and I
don't think I would still have her if she wasn't there, all the staff are lovely and so very patient and understanding.

Mum had a two-week respite stay at Plymbridge House. She is prone to falling, but I'm happy to say that Mum had no falls here. Activities were good to keep Mum occupied and we even had a singalong one day. She enjoyed the food. Thanks to all the staff. Would be happy for Mum to have another stay here.

I have been visiting a friend at Plymbridge House for about a year and I meet members of the staff, everyone is friendly, helpful and my friend is happy and well cared for. The home is fresh and clean. Everyone seems happy.
I don't have much experience visiting care homes and so things like food and
drink, management, security, and facilities I don't really know about. I think the home-baked cakes look good. The staff are engaged with the residents and often activities are organised in the conservatory. Altogether a very happy atmosphere. If I had more care homes experience to compare I would not be surprised if Plymbridge House is near the top.

My mum has been a resident for several years now and my dad was a resident prior to her. We are always welcomed with a smile and staff always make time to discuss how Mum is doing or if they have any concerns. Likewise, we are encouraged to bring up any concerns we may have and these are dealt with
promptly and sympathetically.
We are extremely happy with the care Mum receives at Plymbridge and always feel reassured that she is content.
All I can say is thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My Mum said she would never go into a Home, but now she is here she doesn't want to be anywhere else. The staff are always on hand (with a smile) to help her - and to help me with any queries I might have. They are all very friendly and patient with Mum. She feels safe in the Home and has made lots
of new friends during the time she has been there. The Administration team explained everything to us and made the process of moving her into the Home very easy.

Plymbridge House has been a Godsend to us as a family. My mother has advanced dementia and the care we see her getting is second to none. My sister, brother and I would agree that everyone at the home is consistently friendly, helpful and kind whenever we visit. The staff are lovely with Mum and very
compassionate towards us too as we see our mum deteriorating. Mum's faith is important to her and staff will read the Bible to her or find hymns for her to listen to.
The house as a whole has a happy and friendly feel to it. It is always clean, welcoming and even sweet-smelling. There is often laughter, music and plenty of activities which all can join. There are well-balanced, nutritious meals and treats for the sweet-toothed. Drinks are always offered to residents and visitors and whilst a routine exists, there is also flexibility.
Plymbridge House stands out as an exceptional Care Home as far as I'm concerned and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks guys! Keep up the good work!

Mum has gradually settled into life at Plymbridge, having been used to independent living. Within a couple of weeks, she is seeing it as her new home and taking part in the wide range of activities available to her.
This is down to the professionalism of the staff. The standard of care is excellent
and is reflected in the positive, caring and friendly attitude of all staff from the senior team through to the cleaners. Thank you all for going the extra mile to smooth Mum's path.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.911)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.911) out of 10 for Plymbridge House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.911 for Plymbridge House is calculated as follows: ( (420 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 460 Ratings = 4.911
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Plymbridge House is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

As Home Manager and registered nurse, I bring over 14 years of experience across residential care, hospital settings, and community nursing. My journey into care began through family influence and grew into a lifelong passion. I’ve worked my way up through a variety of roles, which gives me a deep respect for every part of the team and the importance each department plays in making a house a home.

I’m passionate about person-centred care and creating a warm, supportive environment where residents are truly known and valued. I’m also a strong advocate for people living with dementia, believing they should be empowered to live well, with meaning, joy, and the freedom to enjoy what they love each day.

My vision is for our home to grow with the needs of our community, providing high-quality, individualised care that reflects the diverse and changing needs of our ageing population. I work closely with families and staff to ensure we build trust, provide reassurance, and create a space where everyone feels safe, connected, and at home.

Outside of work, I’m happiest when spending time with my family and chocolate Labrador, or off on an adventure in my campervan. I’m also a very proud “cool auntie” to a bunch of brilliant nieces and nephews. Whether I’m getting in the sea at the beach, letting them do my hair and makeup, or getting messy baking in the kitchen, making memories with them is one of my greatest joys.
