Plymbridge House has been a Godsend to us as a family. My mother has advanced dementia and the care we see her getting is second to none. My sister, brother and I would agree that everyone at the home is consistently friendly, helpful and kind whenever we visit. The staff are lovely with Mum and very compassionate towards us too as we see our mum deteriorating. Mum's faith is important to her and staff will read the Bible to her or find hymns for her to listen to.
The house as a whole has a happy and friendly feel to it. It is always clean, welcoming and even sweet-smelling. There is often laughter, music and plenty of activities which all can join. There are well-balanced, nutritious meals and treats for the sweet-toothed. Drinks are always offered to residents and visitors and whilst a routine exists, there is also flexibility.

Plymbridge House stands out as an exceptional Care Home as far as I'm concerned and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks guys! Keep up the good work!

Mum has gradually settled into life at Plymbridge, having been used to independent living. Within a couple of weeks, she is seeing it as her new home and taking part in the wide range of activities available to her.

This is down to the professionalism of the staff. The standard of care is excellent and is reflected in the positive, caring and friendly attitude of all staff from the senior team through to the cleaners. Thank you all for going the extra mile to smooth Mum's path.

My mother has been made to feel very welcome by all the staff who have been very friendly and supportive helping her to settle in. She has been treated with dignity and respect at all times. Mum also really enjoys the food, there is always plenty on offer and of a high standard. I can not thank the staff enough, this is a lovely home, all that I could have hoped for my mum.

My very elderly sister became a resident in 2019, becoming disabled through illness. Plymbridge House staff have been just remarkable with their care and compassion, giving time to encourage participation within the lounges and other residents. The Senior staff ensure the home runs smoothly and efficiently giving guidance to the care and domestic staff. There is excellent communication for me and my family and we are always welcomed with a smile and a pleasant greeting. The outside of the home is beautifully kept with a glorious array of flowers and shrubs.

A very big thank you from myself and family, may Plymbridge continue keeping residents safe, well, and very happy.

I feel that my mum was getting excellent care within the home and the staff are very professional and very caring towards my mum and all the residents. Every time I'm down there they're so professional, do things with them such as activities, singers and keep them occupied for many hours. The whole staff are very friendly and genuine. I regularly take my mum to the dining room which is fantastically laid out and she enjoys her meals at the home. I think her experience in the home she is enjoying it because it's very homely.

My mother has been living in Plymbridge House for twelve months now. She was admitted after having suffered a stroke. She subsequently suffered a broken hip in October last year which has left her needing a higher level of care.

I feel confident that she is receiving the best possible care and I hope that she will remain as happy as she is today.

Since my uncle became a resident earlier this year, I have been extremely happy with the care he has received. Staff quickly got to know him and to understand his needs, and so far, have been, without exception, compassionate, caring and kind. Always welcoming and friendly, they have been brilliant at keeping me informed of his progress and any needs, and in many ways, I feel that they have changed his life for the better, providing companionship and entertainment. Thank you to all the staff, and in my experience, you are a shining example of how a care home should be - Plymbridge House feels more like a family than an institution.

My elderly mother has recently become a resident at Plymbridge House and I have been very impressed by the quality of care given to her and residents alike when I have visited. The staff are always welcoming and happy. They work hard to ensure the best possible care and support and have been brilliant with Mum. This has helped her to settle into her new home. Mum is happy to know she has support by day and by night and is well cared for. She enjoys the many activities and entertainment and sitting outside in the lovely garden. Recently, she enjoyed a morning out with a small group for coffee and cake. Overall, this is the best place for mum where she can now be worry-free and enjoy her days in a relaxed and happy environment.

Mum came to Plymbridge House from hospital in 2019 in quite a bad way. The love, care and attention shown to her by all the staff at the care home has resulted in her transformation back to the mum the family knows and loves.

Plymbridge House and their staff are such a caring and welcoming place for your loved ones to stay. The staff there keep them safe and cared for and make them and yourself feel like family. You are always welcome to talk out worries and problems you are feeling and the staff will always listen and give advice. There has never been a time that I have had to complain about anything and I would wholeheartedly say that if you or a loved one has to make that decision of becoming a resident (and I know how hard and heartbreaking this is), Plymbridge House is a lovely, welcoming, happy home to stay.

My mother has been a resident of Plymbridge House for nearly 3-years, and she is very happy with her room and the communal areas in the home. My father has also just moved into the home following illness and a severe fall, which left him with restrictive movement. The members of our family are all very happy with the staff and management at the home, and we thank them for the care they provide to our parents.

My mother moved to Plymbridge House in 2016 after breaking her hip. My sister and I chose it because it felt like home. We did not know then how important the warm friendly atmosphere would become when the arrival of the Covid pandemic stopped family visiting and taking Mum out. The Senior care staff, Health Care Assistants and all the people working to keep the home functioning smoothly did everything to keep Mum and her fellow residents as well and happy as they possibly could.

They helped us keep in touch daily and, when we could not be with Mum, the staff were not only caring for her but being friends and family to her. Recently, aged 95 and over five years after making Plymbridge her home, our mother became very ill. My sister and I were enabled to spend a great deal of time with her until she sadly died. We saw so clearly how much the staff cared about her and are extremely grateful for the kindness and support they have given to Mum and to us.

After making the difficult decision to give up her home and move into care, she has settled in extremely well thanks to each and every member of staff. In what are extremely challenging times they have given their all to make her feel at home and include her in everything that is going on. My mother has been living at Plymbridge House for over 3 years. I have always had every confidence in the staff care provided, it quickly became a home from home for her. I have never had any concerns with the care provided, this has been particularly reassuring over the last year when I couldn't see mum due to the pandemic. When visiting is allowed I have always been made to feel welcome and you quickly feel you are amongst friends, when I couldn't visit I was kept up t date and informed of any changes.

Samantha HumphrisJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2025

As Home Manager and registered nurse, I bring over 14 years of experience across residential care, hospital settings, and community nursing. My journey into care began through family influence and grew into a lifelong passion. I’ve worked my way up through a variety of roles, which gives me a deep respect for every part of the team and the importance each department plays in making a house a home.

I’m passionate about person-centred care and creating a warm, supportive environment where residents are truly known and valued. I’m also a strong advocate for people living with dementia, believing they should be empowered to live well, with meaning, joy, and the freedom to enjoy what they love each day.

My vision is for our home to grow with the needs of our community, providing high-quality, individualised care that reflects the diverse and changing needs of our ageing population. I work closely with families and staff to ensure we build trust, provide reassurance, and create a space where everyone feels safe, connected, and at home.

Outside of work, I’m happiest when spending time with my family and chocolate Labrador, or off on an adventure in my campervan. I’m also a very proud “cool auntie” to a bunch of brilliant nieces and nephews. Whether I’m getting in the sea at the beach, letting them do my hair and makeup, or getting messy baking in the kitchen, making memories with them is one of my greatest joys.
