Mum came to Plymbridge House from hospital in 2019 in quite a bad way. The love, care and attention shown to her by all the staff at the care home has resulted in her transformation back to the mum the family knows and loves.

Plymbridge House and their staff are such a caring and welcoming place for your loved ones to stay. The staff there keep them safe and cared for and make them and yourself feel like family. You are always welcome to talk out worries and problems you are feeling and the staff will always listen and give
advice. There has never been a time that I have had to complain about anything and I would wholeheartedly say that if you or a loved one has to make that decision of becoming a resident (and I know how hard and heartbreaking this is), Plymbridge House is a lovely, welcoming, happy home to stay.

Thank you all at Plymbridge House for the care you have shown my mum it is so appreciated.
Whenever I see the daytime staff team I am always impressed with their caring and friendly attitude. This consistency has been key to helping my mum on good days and not-so-good days. You have helped Mum join
in activities which has been key in helping her mix and settle.

My mother has been a resident of Plymbridge House for nearly 3-years, and she is very happy with her room and the communal areas in the home. My father has also just moved into the home following illness and a severe fall, which left him with restrictive movement. The members of our family are all very
happy with the staff and management at the home, and we thank them for the care they provide to our parents.

My mother moved to Plymbridge House in 2016 after breaking her hip. My sister and I chose it because it felt like home. We did not know then how important the warm friendly atmosphere would become when the arrival of the Covid pandemic stopped family visiting and taking Mum out. The Senior care staff,
Health Care Assistants and all the people working to keep the home functioning smoothly did everything to keep Mum and her fellow residents as well and happy as they possibly could.


They helped us keep in touch daily and, when we could not be with Mum, the staff were not only caring for her but being friends and family to her. Recently, aged 95 and over five years after making Plymbridge her home, our mother became very ill. My sister and I were enabled to spend a great deal of time with her until she sadly died. We saw so clearly how much the staff cared about her and are extremely grateful for the kindness and support they have given to Mum and to us.

My mother has been living at Plymbridge House for over 3 years. I have always had every confidence in the staff care provided, it quickly became a home from home for her. I have never had any concerns with the care provided, this has been particularly reassuring over the last year when I couldn't see
mum due to the pandemic. When visiting is allowed I have always been made to feel welcome and you quickly feel you are amongst friends, when I couldn't visit I was kept up t date and informed of any changes.

I feel that the staff of Plymbridge House have been very kind and considerate to my mum. The senior care staff and the HCAs work extremely hard to deliver a high standard of care. I am also grateful for the extremely conscientious way in which all of the staff work to keep my mum safe.

My father (now sadly passed away) was a resident at Plymbridge House and the care given to him was excellent. My mother is a current resident at Plymbridge and again the family and myself are extremely happy with the care Mum is given.
Despite the Covid restrictions this year, we have been able to
stay in touch with Mum through "FaceTime", (Mum's choice) and the staff have kept us informed of any news at all times. Plymbridge is an excellent care home and long may it continue.

My mother contracted Covid, and although she is 98, she was so well cared for that she managed to overcome the illness. Without the care and dedication of the staff, she would not be with us now. Big thank you to you all.

My Mother has lived at Plymbridge House since 2016. We chose it because of the homely, friendly feel and beautiful gardens. She has been happy there and enjoyed making friends with other residents. The wonderful care and attention she received together with regular visits or outings with the family
were key to her well-being. During the past year, Mum has found the changes difficult but all the staff have done their very best to help her cope and accept them. This includes supporting her with FaceTime and phone calls. Unfortunately in January she tested positive with Covid-19 and was not expected to live. The staff at Plymbridge House coped admirably in very difficult circumstances and their care of her was exemplary. They also went out of their way to ensure my sister and I were able to visit when she was very sick and gave us daily updates. Thankfully she has recovered and is now enjoying many of the excellent activities and the company of friends again.

Dad has lived at Plymbridge House for a year now. He is happy, safe and extremely well cared for, we can rest easy knowing how well the staff support him. During the pandemic, we've been able to visit face to face, very safely. The staff get his sense of humour well and understand how to make him laugh.
They go above and beyond; birthday cake, hunting the shops for jellied eels and allowing us to bring in his precious KFC! They keep in regular communication.

My mum was admitted to this home after a case of neglect at another residential home and against her wishes and mine.
From the minute we stepped in the door of Plymbridge House the caring staff made her feel welcomed and assured her they would do everything they could for her and that is exactly what
they did until she passed away two weeks ago.
I cannot thank them enough as I knew she was well cared for, happy and as her needs changed to palliative she was nursed to the highest standard. During Covid when we were not allowed in and she needed our company more, we were confident that they were there for her and I had no worries, which was so reassuring in these horrible times.
The staff were always cheerful, took time to speak to us and were willing to help us in any way they could, nothing was too much trouble.

My mother has been in Plymbridge House for a period of convalescence following a fall and hospital treatment. She has been looked after and cared for by staff at all levels with great care and respect. I am grateful to them for their patience and understanding towards her. I would have no hesitation
at all in recommending this care home.

We found the level of care given at Plymbridge House depended on which staff were on. Some staff were very caring towards our mother and others gave us the impression that she was more of a problem than a resident coming to terms with massive changes in her life. Some staff would help mum become settled
when she was anxious or low whereas others would not give her the time of day. They have a dementia kite but we believe that they should have more training when dealing with patients who have problems relating to this illness. The setting of the home is lovely but we believe staff need more training.

Plymbridge House care home has been marvellous for my husband we could not have picked a more caring happy and thoughtful home to end his days.

My mother moved to Plymbridge House on discharge from hospital, after suffering a number of falls at home in December 2016. At the time she had Parkinson's Disease and was declining rapidly.
Whilst not keen on the idea of residential care, it was obvious that this was necessary for her safety. I
found the concept initially difficult but was greatly assisted by the Manager and senior care staff, who were all outstanding.
As Mum's condition worsened and dementia took hold, she was increasingly difficult to manage. The staff at Plymbridge House were brilliant at coping with Mum and went 'beyond the call of duty' many times to ensure she was safe and reassured.
Their communication with me was superb and I always felt reassured that Mum was safe and comfortable.
I have nothing but praise for all of the staff. They are an outstanding group of individuals, who are very good at what they do. I would happily recommend Plymbridge House to anyone, without reservation.

The staff and manager are fantastic. They really care about their customers. Family members are looked after, you have only to ask and they will go the extra mile.

Samantha Humphris

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

As Home Manager and registered nurse, I bring over 14 years of experience across residential care, hospital settings, and community nursing. My journey into care began through family influence and grew into a lifelong passion. I’ve worked my way up through a variety of roles, which gives me a deep respect for every part of the team and the importance each department plays in making a house a home.


I’m passionate about person-centred care and creating a warm, supportive environment where residents are truly known and valued. I’m also a strong advocate for people living with dementia, believing they should be empowered to live well, with meaning, joy, and the freedom to enjoy what they love each day.


My vision is for our home to grow with the needs of our community, providing high-quality, individualised care that reflects the diverse and changing needs of our ageing population. I work closely with families and staff to ensure we build trust, provide reassurance, and create a space where everyone feels safe, connected, and at home.


Outside of work, I’m happiest when spending time with my family and chocolate Labrador, or off on an adventure in my campervan. I’m also a very proud “cool auntie” to a bunch of brilliant nieces and nephews. Whether I’m getting in the sea at the beach, letting them do my hair and makeup, or getting messy baking in the kitchen, making memories with them is one of my greatest joys.
