Being so far away it was so reassuring and gave peace of mind knowing my father was being looked after so well.
Regular phone calls from the home also kept us up-to-date of his health and well being.
So grateful for everyone at Cross Park for caring for my father.
Thank you.
Reply from Ann-Marie Wilkinson, Registered Manager at Cross Park House Care HomeThank you for the review, Andrew. It was a privilege to look after your father in our home.

I have always found Cross Park House Care Home to have a happy and homely atmosphere.
Although an old building the layout encourages residents to walk about and have different options to sit and rest.
Varied activities offered.
A small but lovely garden - could be more secure so 100 percent access
for residents.
The manager and senior staff are exceptional with care and support for residents and family alike.
All training is well applied to practice.
Other staff, I have seen, also a good standard of care and so kind.

Always greeted by staff, easy to talk to a "senior manager" or the "named" carers. A variety of atmospheres in public rooms. Conservatory pleasant place for families to chat. TV room a safe and enclosed space, sitting room to enable quiet/reflective space for residents, with good views of garden and
trees beyond. A positive attitude of staff toward my aunty who can often be negative/aggressive towards them.
Reply from Nathan Stone, Director at Cross Park House Care HomeGood morning W K - Thank you for taking the time to write and publish this review of your experience with our Cross Park House Care Home in Brixham. My mother has been a resident since 2012. She has Alzheimers and her grasp of language has deteriorated sharply in recent months. The staff at Cross Park are very sensitive to the frustration and anxiety this gives my mother and their patience and caring attitude is so valuable to ensure my mother feels
safe and cared for in a warm and kind environment. Every effort goes into getting the best out each day and there is often laughter - the staff know each resident and their likes and dislikes and worries and do their very best to work with each to make them happy and content.
Reply from Nathan Stone, Director at Cross Park House Care HomeGood morning JD - thank you for taking the time to write and publish this review of your experience of our Cross Park House Care Home in Brixham and our fantastic Care Team who work there. I know just how highly the Manager and her Care Team regard every resident in their care and I agree that they do all they can to ensure that everybody gets, 'the best out of each day'. Thank you for highlighting this and giving our care team such positive feedback in the process. Kindest regards, Nathan.

My husband was at this care home for over two years and he was always treated with the most wonderful care and attention with dignity by everyone concerned. Also, no matter when you visit, you were always given a warm welcome. It is such a pleasure to visit and peace of mind as well.

This is where

I should wish to be if I, myself, need care in the future. This is the highest recommendation.

Always welcoming at the home when we visit my father. The staff are always approachable and helpful. A big thank you to everyone!
Reply from Nathan Stone, Director at Cross Park House Care HomeHello Kay R. Thank you for taking the time to write and publish this review of your experience at Cross Park House in Brixham. It's always great for our care teams to receive this type of public recognition for a job that is very challenging and, sadly, often not given the respect and recognition that it deserves by the wider society who are not directly involved in it. Kindest regards, Nathan.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
All the carers and management at this home go way above and beyond their call of duty to perform the best service imaginable. They excel in efficiency, professionalism, empathy communication and the willingness to provide a safe, comfortable, happy and fun place for the residents to stay at. The residents
are looked after so well and their individual care needs are catered for at all levels. It's also clear the staff are well trained up to current standards and the policies in place are effective and adhered to. I can conclude all this after spending a great deal of time there visiting my nan, over the last six months or so.

As a daughter-in-law who has a very good relationship with my mother-in-law and being a widow to her son. I was very concerned that she get the best care possible. As a Brixham resident I visited many homes. The day I came here there was entertainment, friendly, cheerful staff and very comfortable surroundings.
The food is very good and all her needs are met. The home is very secure and I am very happy with all aspects.

I see my grandma as and when I like and the staff are always happy to help that visit be as comfortable as possible. They seem to take good care of her and if there are any concerns they contact the family asap.
I love the fact they provide entertainment for the residents.
I wonder if there would
be any scope to get the residents out and about if the family cannot do so.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.313)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.313) out of 10 for Cross Park House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.563 for Cross Park House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.563
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cross Park House Care Home is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 23 registered maximum number of service users is 4.6, which has been reached with 10 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
