Dads not been here long but the care is far better than had before. Already showing huge improvent in mental health, also physically with his mobility. Very happy.
Thank you for your review, It's great to read that Dad is showing such great improvements and that you are very happy with the care, friendly management and staff. I know the team are always really grateful to receive 5 star reviews - so again, thank you so much.
Overall I am very happy with my sister's care.
Thank you for your kind words and thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased to hear you're happy with your sister's care and that our team has helped ease moments of stress. We also appreciate your comments about the room and will take this into consideration for future improvements. It's lovely to have your support.
All the family where heartbroken to see Mum go into a care home, whereas she has been alot more settled with the help of all the staff, their care and activities. This has eased her anxiety which in turn is helping her Dementia journey, and ours.
Thank you for your kind words. We're so glad to hear that your mum is feeling more settled-it means a lot to us to be part of her journey and support your family.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful and I feel have a genuine care for the residents they look after, I truly believe we could not of found a better care home for our Mum, it was a big decision but definitely the right one.
Thank you for your review and the lovely words about the home and the team.
Between my Mums siblings one of us will see her almost everyday and of course she will talk of returning home in the future but always tells us how nice the people are in her 'hotel' !!! She enjoys the food, the activities and the days out they have. Most recently I visited her on Valentines Day and the Events co-ordinators had organised a lunch for residents with one family member able to have a specially set up Valentines meal. Really meant a lot to me to spend those few precious hours with her in such a nicely created setting.
Thank you Buxton House.
Thank for this heartfelt review I am so pleased to read how you and your siblings feel. I will share this review with the team.
Mum moved in October 2024, from the start she was made to feel very welcome and settled as well as can be expected. I cannot rate the staff highly enough they all know mum and are extremely caring. The activities are good and if she goes to them she does enjoy it although sometimes has to be persuaded to go. The cleanliness is outstanding, both in her room and general areas. Mum enjoys the food and there is a lot of variation. It's very professionally run and I feel totally reassured knowing mum is there and she is safe, well looked after and happy.
Thank you for this 5* review - To read how caring the team are at Buxton House and how welcome you feel really means a lot to the team. Thank you.
We were warmly welcome to Buxton House where my dad was given a large, bright, scrupulously clean ensuite bedroom. It is well decorated and furnished and has a warm homely environment. All the staff have shown great care, compassion and understanding of my dad and his needs. He is now well setled and happy and interacts naturally with the staff and other residents, its lovely to see. The staff have gone to great lengths to give my mum and me lots of support and calm, patient reassurance. About dads day to day care needs, we're both hugely grateful for their professionalism and kindness. I can very confidently recommend Buxton House to anybody requiring dementia care for a loved one.
Thank you for this 5* review - The team at Buxton House will take great pride in reading this review. Thank you
Staff are always happy and polite. My mother is happy with the kindness of the staff and always says the food is nice and the staff are always friendly. The activities are always welcome as she is a bit of a doer despite having mobility issues.
Thank you for your review. We are so pleased your mother is happy at Buxton House and is enjoying the food.
I am always treated well by the Buxton House staff and they are friendly and understanding, keeping me updated with Mum's care as well as letting me know any concerns.
This is not a care home where elderly people are parked in a room to wait their time out - it's a place where my mum is taken proper care of and the chance to enjoy life as much as she can. She has been so much happier here than for many years before and I am very grateful.
(Because she is provided for by local authority care, I can't rate the costs.)
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased your mum is happy at Buxton House and that our care meets her needs. Your feedback means a lot and we'll share it with the team.
Thanks!

All staff are so very helpful and Mum seems very happy, Mum's room and the home are always very clean and there are plenty of friendly staff whenever we need them. Certainly, the menu for the day's food always looks varied with a great choice.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear your mum is happy and well cared for and that you're pleased with the cleanliness, staff and menu. Your kind words mean a lot to our team!

Our mother went to Buxton House from hospital. We were expecting her to be coming home but unfortunately, this wasn't possible. We were very happy that we managed to get her accepted and she appears to be enjoying being there. The staff are all wonderful and so friendly with not only the residents but the families as well. We can take our mother's dogs in to see her at any time which has been a real bonus.
Thank you for your review - We are so pleased the team at Buxton House have been so welcoming. We will share your comments with the team.
The food looks delicious.
It is difficult as my mother can't see well and cannot stand unaided, so A) she can't see food or drink and B) because of her memory, she can't remember she can't walk and has had three falls, one causing her to break her hip.
I know it is difficult but her clothes keep going missing too!
We're sorry to hear about the challenges your mother is facing and the issue with missing clothing. Please rest assured we'll investigate this right away. The home will contact you directly for more information.
I am always impressed by how friendly all the staff are. It is good to see that they properly know my mother and care sensitively for her.
Thank you for taking the time to review Buxton House, your feedback is much appreciated. I will be sure to pass on your comments to the team, thank you again.
My wife is in Buxton House being well cared for, very good staff and management. The 4 ladies in the animation are brilliant.
Thank you for your lovely 5* review, I am so pleased that your wife is enjoying life with us at Buxton House. I will pass your wonderful feedback on to the team. All the best.
I have been treated with the greatest care, respect and made to feel like part of the family. I am very happy.
Thank you for your review and kind words, I am delighted to read how well you've settled into life at Buxton House, wishing you all the best.
Mum has been going downhill slowly since September 2023 - has had several "episodes" for various things. Staff are quick to inform me and explain what's happened each time. Today, I have had a chat regarding Mum with the manager who has fully explained Mum's situation and what she is trying to do to help Mum. Am happy with all she has told me today.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, I'm so pleased to read your comments. An overall rating of five-star for the experience will mean so much to the team. Wishing you all the best.
The day rooms are always clean and bright, and the staff are always cheerful and attentive to everyone. There is a lovely atmosphere.
Thank you for your lovely feedback; the team at Buxton House will be thrilled. Wishing you all the very best from all at Care South.

Meet the Team (1)

“I have worked in the Health and Social Care sector since I was old enough to be employed; whilst continuing to study, develop and achieve the skills and qualifications I have.
I began my career working with Care South as a Care Assistant and progressed to my present role as Home Manager of Buxton House. I initially began my journey at Buxton House and worked across the company in different locations – I am so glad to be back!
Ensuring every day is meaningful for the people we care for is what drives me and the team at Buxton House to give the best possible service.
We aim to support our residents and be involved in the care we provide; to enhance their independence in confidence, knowing we can support them with our person-centred approach.
I am proud and fortunate to be part of a fun, professional and caring team who work above and beyond expectations consistently.”
