The Malthouse Residential Home

A lovely place - homely, comfortable and with a great ambience. My husband enjoys his "day out" every week and all the staff and fellow residents are always kind, considerate and helpful.

My friend was always full of praise for the meals you served. This was praise indeed because she had always been a very good cook and was quick to find fault if meals were not to her standard.

I feel safe in pleasant surroundings, well cared for by polite, patient and very friendly staff.

Visiting my grandma is always a pleasure, it's like seeing her in her own home.

The staff are so welcoming and know my grandma so well.

There is always so much going on in the home for her to join in with.

Frist class. Immediate positive response to our desperate phone call seeking immediate short term stay (3-weeks in the end) to follow operation in the hospital for a broken hip. At all times, the resident was treated well and all her wishes met and respected. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. All staff were genuinely friendly and kind and were easy to deal with. We could not have wanted anything more. The rooms were spacious and pleasant; food good and care superb.

The Malthouse is exceptional in the care they provide for residents and the welcome they give to families. My mother was a resident here for nearly four years until she died peacefully at the home in December. During her time in the home she was always treated with dignity and respect, and with love and humour - always laughing with her never at her. She was always calm and content and smiled warmly at all the carers, clearly showing how much she liked them.

When it became clear that she was nearing the end of her life they couldn't have been kinder and the physical and emotional care they provided was exceptional. They were also so kind to us as a family and I was touched that I would arrive unannounced to find that they were with her, offering care or just sitting quietly by her bed. They provide the quality of care that we would all want for ourselves and those we love and we are truly grateful.

I find The Malthouse to be a cosy, safe, friendly home from home for my mum. The staff make us feel so welcome whenever we visit. The Malthouse is without a doubt, the best home we could have chosen for mum. There is something going on every day and time for staff to spend quality one to one time with people.

I would be more than happy to recommend The Malthouse to anyone. It is truly excellent!
