Talbot View has 59 welcoming and comfortable, fully furnished rooms, as well as a 24-hour call bell, ensuring residents are comfortable, safe and expertly cared for.

The experienced and well-trained team at Talbot View deliver compassionate care in a home-from-from atmosphere. All residents can enjoy a wide variety of activities and entertainment if they so wish, including trips to local landmarks in the Care South minibus.

Dad has been at Talbot View for a few months now and the care he gets for his dementia is wonderful.
He has settled well and joins in with many of the activities on offer. He particularly likes the dancing, skittles and football. He has been known to join in with the singing as well which has surprised
the family.
He seems to have a new lease of life since moving to Talbot View.
We enjoy our visits with Dad and so does he.
The staff have all been wonderful with him and he eats properly which was always a worry before.

Talbot View has given my mother a new lease of life and, after a while to settle in, has accepted the place as her new home. She has received excellent care and the staff seem to love her, which gives us pleasure. We enjoy visiting her too!

My mother is doing very well despite her age and dementia. When she arrived at the home during 2015 she was in very poor health, frail and depressed. Despite her protestations, she is now far healthier and is able to converse with the staff and some of the other residents. We are amazed that she made
such a good recovery with the support of the Care Home Staff.

The staff at Talbot View are kind, caring and very warm. My Mother in Law seems to be much more relaxed and happier than she has done for quite some time. She has settled there well and even joined the choir, not something I expected of a 93 year old! due, I am sure, to the encouragement of the staff.

I lost my dear husband on February 28th. He was only in Talbot View for 5 weeks. He settled in well and was really happy there for four weeks. Unfortunately, he took a turn for the worse on the 23rd and died on the 28th Feb. All I can say is that the care the home gave was second to none. The staff
were excellent and to relatives too. But the week he was in a sleep coma the delicate care they gave him right up to the end turning and talking to him. Thank you.

The care generally was excellent. The staff and management showed a lot of love and care to both of us to the extent of us feeling like part of a family throughout the past 7 years. My grandmother has been a resident of Talbot View since 2008 and I thank all of the staff for their loving care over the years. Unfortunately, we are near the end and I can see how much the staff care for the residents through all their support at this testing time. Not only have the staff cared for
my grandmother, they have supported my grandfather and all of my close family. I cannot thank everyone enough for the dignified care for my grandmother and ongoing support for those that love her.

Job Title: Interim Home Manager

Joined: 2025

I started at Fairlawn in June 1993 as a care assistant following a placement from my Health and Social care college course. I stayed at Fairlawn for nearly 25 years and worked my way up to Deputy Home Manager, completing my Level 5 Diploma in 2015.
In 2017 I was offered the opportunity to support the Manager at Wickmeads and stayed for 5 years.


In Nov 2022 I decided to leave Care South due to my first grandchild being on the way and wanting to be supportive and hands on.
Care South gave me the opportunity to stay on a part time support role during this time which gave me time to support my family but also keep in the Care South family.


In 2024 I joined Talbot View in my support role and have stayed in a full-time role as Deputy Home Manager. I am currently Interim Home Manager. Care South have encouraged my growth and coming to work is like going home to my second family.


I have seen many changes in my years but at the Heart of everything has been improving the service the resident ,making the residents feel at home, safe and content is what makes the job worthwhile, and I could not imagine doing anything else.”
