I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at The Knoll who looked after my uncle during the 18 months he was there. I'm sure that my uncle considered his carers as friends and staff were always friendly, caring and helpful to him and us, his family, especially in the latter days of his time at
The Knoll during the lockdown.
Reply from Hasib Rohman, Home Manager at The Knoll Care Home

Every one of the staff and management at The Knoll Care Home was exceptionally kind and attentive to my Mum when she was there for 3 weeks of respite care after a bad fall at home. She was very happy there, very comfortable and her every need was catered for, the whole family is grateful to them all.
She is 90 and is recovering well. Many thanks to you all.

The love and care extended to mum during the whole period of her stay was wonderful. we found all staff genuinely kind and caring. All needs were met and monitored. We never felt that we had to check or question the care given. Mum settled in and relaxed as soon as she moved in and loved the staff as
if they were family. There were also times we felt staff went above and beyond - for example visiting mum in hospital. Thankyou

I am so impressed with the friendly environment created for all the residents to enjoy, it's like a very good hotel. The food is very good and the staff spoil my father like he is part of their family. I couldn't wish for better care for him. He is always smiling, singing and laughing.

My personal experience has proved to be a great help to me, the overall care and kindness shown by staff and management to residents and visiting family and friends could not be bettered. This also includes the backroom team i.e., Kitchen and maintenance staff. Everyone shows a dedication to their work
in the nicest possible way, very often in difficult situations. The link up with the surgery is a big plus, the doctors and district nurses are all on hand and give wonderful service.

Current Review Score: 7.5 (7.524)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.5 (7.524) out of 10 for The Knoll Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 3.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 3.833 for The Knoll Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (29 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 3.833
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.691 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Knoll Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.441
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
