I have found the staff I have come into contact with to be particularly caring. My mum is enjoying her staff and feels cared for. Mum has a lovely, sunny room with a great view that she appreciates. She's started to make friends and chat with other residents a little more now than when she first arrived. She's looking forward to doing activities during the day once they commence and looking forward to having more visitors and go out more now the Covid restrictions are starting to be lifted.

My mum and dad moved to The Knoll in August 2021. Sadly, my mum passed away and my dad is living there. My mum and dad get extraordinary support from the home manager to the maintenance man at The Knoll. They are very caring, supportive and always go the extra mile. All my family members are happy about them.

Pleased with the care provided for our dad. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. Always very welcoming. We're always told of any changes to our dad's needs. And staff are quick to react if a challenge arises. Well done, keep up the good work.

My family and I were nervous about letting Dad go to a care home but we had no choice in the end. The staff were always kind and friendly. I used to phone day and night to see how Dad was doing. The staff were always happy to update me, despite being busy. Communication was great. The staff always updated me on Dad's health and did everything to make his stay at The Knoll more comfortable, involving various outside agencies, at times. The manager was very hands-on which I thought was excellent. The staff treated my dad with great care and compassion. The manager always asked after Mum too, as the separation from Dad, after 55 years of marriage, was hard at times. Excellent overall care.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care my nan receives. She is very happy, and well looked after! Even in covid times, the care home maintains the resident's safety, but also, ensuring they can keep visits going by creating a safe pod for us to use while visiting and following all Government guidelines. Nowhere is good as being at home, but this comes a very close 2nd.

I have no worries at all with my nan being at The Knoll and feel very reassured she’s in the best place every time I visit.

My friend was very worried about going into a care home, but knew she was unable to live alone. When we arrived, she received a very warm welcome and was soon put at ease, difficult with Covid 19 in place! I mentioned it was her birthday in a few days time, but they had already realised this and had arranged a tea and cake. She loved it. Since then, she has settled very well and praises the staff, the lovely meals and amazing cakes. They are all so kind and caring.

Our parents were admitted to The Knoll for respite care in mid-August and will now be staying there long term. Obviously, we have not been able to go into the property but the staff have been really helpful with organising visits and phone calls. Our parents seem happy and settled. Both report that the food is good and Mum enjoys the bingo. We have been particularly impressed with the team's interactions with us. They are very proactive in keeping us up to date with our parents' health issues and general well-being.

My sister-in-law moved into The Knoll early last month. She was in a very frail condition, having been in and out of hospital for almost six months. The care she has received has been exemplary. The bed sores she acquired in hospital are healing. She is putting on weight, thanks to the excellent food, which she is delighted with. The grounds are beautiful, with rabbits and deer visiting.

Altogether an excellent nursing home. I can thoroughly recommend it.

My Aunt has been a resident for some time. I am happy knowing that she is content and very well cared for. She has a beautiful room with stunning views which she enjoys. My Aunt enjoys a varied menu whilst sharing the company of other residents she has formed a friendship with. Recently she became very unwell and the staff took immediate action to ensure her safety and well-being, she was admitted to hospital for treatment, The Knoll checked on her by phone regularly. I have to say the staff are exceptional in the way they are towards the residents, their commitment during this difficult time is simply amazing. I feel I must single out one in particular who has always given me feedback on my Aunt when I am visiting without me having to ask. This is my personal opinion based on my own experience and comments from my Aunt. Thank you, everyone, for being so caring.

I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at The Knoll who looked after my uncle during the 18 months he was there. I'm sure that my uncle considered his carers as friends and staff were always friendly, caring and helpful to him and us, his family, especially in the latter days of his time at The Knoll during the lockdown.

The love and care extended to mum during the whole period of her stay was wonderful. we found all staff genuinely kind and caring. All needs were met and monitored. We never felt that we had to check or question the care given. Mum settled in and relaxed as soon as she moved in and loved the staff as if they were family. There were also times we felt staff went above and beyond - for example visiting mum in hospital. Thankyou

My personal experience has proved to be a great help to me, the overall care and kindness shown by staff and management to residents and visiting family and friends could not be bettered. This also includes the backroom team i.e., Kitchen and maintenance staff. Everyone shows a dedication to their work in the nicest possible way, very often in difficult situations. The link up with the surgery is a big plus, the doctors and district nurses are all on hand and give wonderful service.

Reece Welsted
Reece WelstedJob Title:Registered Home ManagerJoined: 2025

Over the past eight years, I've gone from volunteering in a care home to becoming a Registered Manager, and it's been an amazing journey. Along the way, I completed my Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, but the biggest achievement for me is being able to do a job that I genuinely love.

I'm so happy to now be the Registered Manager at The Knoll. Working alongside such a caring team and getting to spend every day with our wonderful residents is what makes this role so special. My passion has always been making sure every resident is well looked after, feels safe, and knows that The Knoll is their home—not just a place they live. I love getting to know our residents, sharing a laugh with them, and making sure every day is the best it can be. Seeing people happy and knowing we've made a difference is what makes it all worthwhile.

Cara Carpenter
Cara CarpenterJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2015

Hi, I'm the Deputy Manager at The Knoll, and I've been part of the team for 11 years (yes, I'm practically part of the furniture!). My biggest passion is making sure our residents receive the very best care while getting to know each of them as individuals. I want every family to have complete peace of mind, knowing their loved one is happy, safe, and genuinely cared for. The best part of my day is spending time with our wonderful residents—there's never a dull moment, and they certainly keep me on my toes! When I'm not at The Knoll, you'll usually find me spending time with my amazing grandmother and the rest of my family, making the most of every opportunity to create happy memories.

Kelly Kingscote
Kelly KingscoteJob Title:Head HousekeeperJoined: 2021

Hi, My name is Kelly, although I prefer to be called Kells or Kellbells, I have been head housekeeper for 5 years, I really enjoy my role and take great pride in knowing that I can make a difference to the care, cleanliness and comfort of our residents, whether they are staying with us on respite or long term, I am lucky to work alongside such a lovely team, who I enjoy working with everyday.

Outside of work, I love getting creative, especially wreath making, flower arranging and sometimes a bit of diamond art. When I am relaxing at home with my family, I like watching crime documentaries and programmes based on true-life events.

Tim Joyner
Tim JoynerJob Title:Maintenance ManJoined: 2004

I've been the maintenance man at The Knoll since 2004, and no two days are ever the same! I love getting stuck into all sorts of jobs, learning new skills along the way, and finding creative solutions—I've always been pretty handy with my hands. Around The Knoll, I'm better known as the "Sweaty Man" because I'm always on the go, and I never miss the chance to hand out a chocolate treat to our residents each day. One of the best parts of my job is spending one-to-one time with the residents, having a chat, a laugh, and getting to know them. I've got a big heart, and making people smile is what it's all about.

When I'm not at work, you'll usually find me making memories with my grandchildren, who keep me busy, especially on our annual family day trips that I look forward to every year.
