Field Hoyse gave the best care to my sister. Every staff member treated my sister with respect, patience and thought. The manager of the home had excellent management skills and had a special skill where dealing with staff and residents alike. Nothing was too much trouble. An excellent timetable of activities and my sister told me the food was good - "just like home cooked!". I would have no problem with my sister residing at Field House in the future and would highly recommend.
Kind regards,
Field House
My Mum had been in Field House for nearly 3 years. In October her health declined Field House kept me updated of any changes in which it made me feel more relaxed knowing I would know when I needed to be there. The Staff and Management gave 100% in Mum's final days and also care given to us as a family was exceptionally above and beyond. I will always treasure the time Mum was there as she was so happy and content. We had 3 years longer with Mum that we would of had and she was 96 .
Best regards,
Field House
The staff are caring and dedicated, they truly care about all the residents, making the house their home.
Field has lots of activities to keep her busy and enjoy the things she loves doing, from Knitting club to gardening and lots more.
I love seeing regular updates on social media.
Kind regards,
Field House
The care and attention she receives is very good. The staff are brilliant, the home provides plenty of activities. She loves to go into the gardens which has always been a passion of hers, and help with growing plants in the polytunnel.
This care home mum has fond memories as a child and we feel is a big benefit to her.
Any medical appointments are delt with by the staff who will take her for any appointments.
She is very well looked after and will contact us if we need to be told anything regarding her welfare
Best regards,
Field House
I feel that the facilities and the care is excellent and the home is very welcoming.
Best regards,
Field House
My parent has been a resident at Field House for a year and a half, and the facilities and staff are excellent, and staff are extremely friendly and support given to residents and family is second to none. I couldn't wish for better.
Kind regards,
Field House
When we were choosing a place for Mum about a year ago, we hoped Field House would be the right place and we were delighted to find that it was. It is a wonderful home set in beautiful grounds with a fantastic team of carers who are always keen to do their very best for Mum. The activities team make sure there is something interesting happening on a very regular basis and Mum joins in with just about everything. The decor is delightful with lovely seasonal displays changed on a regular basis. Every member of staff and management are always approachable, friendly and make time for Mum and for us as a family whenever we have a question or request. The plaque outside the front door explains that the house was left to the town by the original owners so the elderly of Shepton Mallet would have somewhere nice to live and that's exactly what it provides. We couldn't have chosen anywhere better for Mum and would very strongly recommend Field House
Best regards,
Field House
My lovely Mum was treated with utmost dignity, and with tremendous care, love and compassion. When we were no longer able to give her the 24 care she needed, it was a great comfort to us that she was safe and nurtured in such a lovely place. The family visited her daily over nearly 3 years and not only did they care for Mum but also us. Nothing was too much trouble.
Field House has a lovely homely feel and was always beautifully decorated. There was lots for the residents to do if they wanted to, and it was lovely to hear laughter.
Field House made Mums last days the most special they could be in the circumstances for Mum and for us who were with her. Thank you. We will miss visiting.
It should be renamed Field House - Caring Home
Dear Heather, your review has really touched our hearts. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and experiences. It was an absolute privilege to care for your dear Mum, and a pleasure to welcome her family to visit her at Field House. We too will miss your visits, but please rest...
It is always a pleasure to visit my sister at Field House, where she is very happy. The staff are invariably welcoming & obviously enjoy working here. The entrance hall is decorated for different events throughout the years, providing an ever-changing, stimulating environment for residents and visitors alike. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable, and furnishings are good. All the staff I have dealt with have taken time to listen to what I have to say or answer any queries that I may have. There are many varied activities, visiting, entertainment, and outings. Having had experience of other care homes in the area due to family circumstances. Field House stands out as exemplary, always going above and beyond.
Best regards,
Field House
The home is clean, tidy, and homely, and there is a kind, caring atmosphere which is shown at all levels (leadership to housekeeping staff levels). Staff encourage Mum to take part in activities and have fun.
Best regards,
Field House
Dad got involved in regular activities and visits to the park and on occasion the staff would have animals visiting which was fantastic. Dad had a small appetite but staff encouraged dad with foods he enjoyed.
Dad also received outstanding care at the end of his life , with love , kindness and continuity from all staff members. A few days before dad passed away, I was able to stay overnight in a spare room provided and the staff looked after me too, I could not of asked for more. I hope this encourages families to not hesitate when considering this home.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review for Field House, and for the care your Dad received during his time with us. It was a privilege to care for him, and we were honoured that he chose to make his home with us for his final chapter. It means the world that you also felt...
I spent a good 2 weeks visiting my Mum every day to help her settle in and was so impressed with the care, my Mum was 'walking with intent' so the team put in safety precautions to ensure she was well looked after and was kept safe.
The lunches, dinners, snacks, and the activities are great, even a small bar for residents. The cleanliness is exemplary, and the grounds are well maintained.
I was able to choose my Mum's room the décor is nice, and it has lovely views over the grounds. I am reassured so much by the care given and the updates and checking in with me to see if I am satisfied. It's a lovely care home managed well with a very hardworking team.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so glad that we were able to help facilitate your Mum's move, and to support you both through the process. Your kind words about your Mum's care at Field House mean the world to us, and we will be sure to share them with the whole team. Best regards,Field House
Takes a long time for the front door to be answered sometimes. The system to check in is easy to use. Staff are very friendly. Staff seem to want to listen and help. Her room could be cleaner, and the bathroom could be cleaner some days. I feel she needs more encouragement in personal hygiene as she can be lazy to do this herself. Overall, she is happy here and feels safe.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Field House. We are so pleased that your mother-in-law is happy and feels safe with us. As with all of our residents, we work alongside her to support her choices and enable her to live as she wishes, whilst supporting her wellbeing and overall...
My mother moved into Field House end of 2024 has settled in well enjoys life in the home. It is lovely seeing her joining in the activities, care staff seem to know each individual resident to meeting their individual needs. We have seen mum flourish in many ways since being here. Thank you all.
Thank you for sharing your feedback - it is great to hear that your Mum is thriving at Field House, and enjoying joining in with the activities on offer. Best regards, Somerset Care
Field House feels warm friendly and inclusive. My dad says "the food is lovely and there is plenty of it". Everywhere is clean and fresh. My dad also says that he finds it interesting as there is always something to do. Everybody who works at Field House is helpful approachable and kind. My dad feels supported and reassured I feel exactly the same and so do the rest of the family. Thank you to everyone at Field House for doing such a fantastic job of looking after my dad.
Mum came into Field House for respite with the view to staying permanently, she settled well and has been a resident for 6 months. The staff and carers are very supportive and caring especially in the late afternoon when mum is usually unsettled due to her dementia. Mum gets on well with the carers they bring out the cheeky side of her. Mum's room is always clean and tidy. She is eating well and has put on weight which is good. The home is local so easy for the family to visit. Mum is well looked after and cared for.
A very positive experience, my Mum stayed for nearly 3 weeks for respite. It was lovely and homely, with lovely rooms. The staff was very caring and the food was good. If Mum has to go back I would not hesitate to send her to Field House. 5*!
Warm, welcoming and loving environment. The staff are exceptionally kind and helpful, and the home is small enough to be so friendly and feels like a family, not a care home. Highly recommend this place and commend all the wonderful staff. Grateful to have found it. My sister is so happy and relaxed now, truly a relief and less worried about her future well-being.
Mum isn’t one for getting out of her room too often but does enjoy going downstairs when Elvis serenades the residents.
I know when I leave that she will be in good hands, and thank the staff for their hard efforts.
Field House has welcomed my mum into the care home so warmly. My mum has settled so nicely with the help of all the care staff, who have been very kind and helpful. Although Mum doesn't leave her room very often, the staff take time to have a chat with her and Mum says regularly that she is happy there, which is the most important thing.
