Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

My husband has been in Buckland Court since the beginning of March. The staff are amazing. Their care and patience are second to none. They have taken great care of all the resident during this difficult time and go out of their way to ensure I am ok too. Thank you to all the staff at Buckland Court
who are working hard to make residents feel at home and feel happy and safe.

My father's health seems much more stable since moving to Buckland Court. He gets on well with the staff who seem to have taken a real liking to him.
He is always clean, tidy and well fed whenever I visit.
The staff always keep me up top date with any adverse events.

Mum has been made so welcome as a respite stay following a fall and a spell in hospital has turned into a six-month stay! The staff are all delightful and keep me well informed. However, the facilities are basic in terms of rooms but the care and support outweigh this snag.

All staff including the manager were very helpful, kind, and caring. The home is a pleasant place to be. The staff was also very kind and polite about ensuring current coronavirus guidelines were enforced (i.e. ensuring I thoroughly washed my hands upon entry without being intrusive). They received
notification of closure whilst I was there and they were very considerate of how they informed me, especially considering the pressure they were under.

I would like to begin with a huge thank you to all at Bculand Court. The care/compassion that was shown and given to my Mum was out of this world. I would never be able to repay the kindness, warmth, and laughter. Mum was very happy and content living at Buckland Court, which is a God-send to the family.
Mum passed away on 15/5/20. The dignity and compassion were outstanding to the end. Thank you, you became a part of my Mum's family.

All staff at Buckland Court have shown how much they care for the residents in the time my mum has been there. Nothing is too much trouble which is partially hard as the home has been in total lockdown because of Covid-19. Mum is very happy there, and I can't express my thanks enough to all that have

From the top down all the staff are friendly, caring and understanding. As my mother's needs have increased, so has the amount of assistance she requires increased. Everyone has risen to the challenges this presents. All the staff go out of their way to make residents feel as though it is their home
and that they are valued and cared about. My mother has Parkinson's which is now affecting her mentally. Everyone is helping her to accept this.

We visited our friend who has significant dementia over three days with multiple visits. Although our friend has difficulty communicating, as far as we could tell, he is quite happy at Buckland Court. He is interested in what is going on around him and clearly, prefers to be in the common areas instead
of in his room. The staff are uniformly kind and attentive to all the residents, communicate clearly with them and have established a very positive social atmosphere. We are very glad that our friend is being taken care of so well. Thank you.

It is the staff, every single one of them, operating as a team, that make Buckland Court such a wonderful and caring home. It is spotlessly clean, the food is first-rate and the balance of activities carefully thought through.
Other places may have more modern facilities but they do not have the same
feeling or atmosphere of family and care. Nothing is too much trouble, every one made to feel valued, respected and loved. So thank you! Thank you to the team.

My wife and myself were taken by mini-coach to Great Bedwyn for a barge trip. We were looked after with great care by all staff. All of the staff were extremely attentive to my wife's needs and cannot praise the staff of the home enough, the barge and the lovely gentle coach ride.

Mum settled in well after being admitted from NHS care earlier this year. Dad was admitted from home on the same day. There have been problems with their coming to terms with their change in circumstances, but the staff quickly learnt how to ease tensions between them so that they are now happier and
more relaxed.

Mum and dad were admitted on the same day after she had been in hospital for 4 months. Mum has found it difficult to come to terms with the deterioration in Dad's mental state but the patience and kindness of the staff have proved invaluable when tensions have occurred between them.

My Aunt has been in Buckland Court since last August and the care she has received has been excellent. All the staff have been very helpful and nothing has been too much trouble for them to sort out. I would have no hesitation recommending this care home to others.

During my mother's time at Buckland Court all staff were brilliant. Not only for the two years she enjoyed but especially during the last few weeks of her life. Each individual that worked at this care provider made me, my Mum and the rest of my family feel welcome since the first day that my mother
attended the day centre. This care home is truly amazing and I won't ever forget how well they treated my family.

My mother has only been a resident since October 2017 but has settled in very quickly and has expressed that she feels safe and that the staff are all very helpful.
I am kept informed on my visits of progress in eating, weight gain and have been told that she is joining in more in activities.
The
staff are very caring and respond to requests very efficiently. Having had a family member previously in another care home, Buckland Court is far superior in its attitude to care for residents.

Buckland Court have been amazing in helping my dad settle smoothly into permanent residential care - their constant care, support and kindness have been brilliant and I can't thank all of the lovely staff enough for the hard work and commitment. My aunt has been lucky enough to call Buckland Court her home for just over a year now. I am constantly impressed by the levels of professional care and the atmosphere of warmth and love from the moment you enter her home.
Staff work together as a team to ensure that all who live here are treated with
dignity and respect. Each person is treated and loved as an individual family member. The home cooking is delicious and there are loads of fun activities each day. Visitors are welcomed and I shall be forever grateful for how the staff have gently taught me about dementia and it impacts. They look after the whole family. We are blessed to have my aunt safe, nurtured and happy at Buckland Court. Thank you.

Carol

Carol Wootton

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2009

Carol joined the Trust in 2009 and has worked in the care sector for 17 years. Carol started working as a carer at the age of 17 after completing her work experience at the age of 14 in a care home. She enjoyed spending time with the elderly so much and really felt that she could help by making a difference in people’s lives.


Carol has a Level 3 in Effective Management, a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, Adults Residential Management and in her spare time she likes reading, going to the gym and walking.


An interesting fact about Carol is that in 2017, she took part in a sensory challenge where she was blindfolded for 7 hours! Carol arranged this with support from the Wiltshire Blind Society and had the opportunity to talk on Wiltshire Sound radio. As part of this, she raised money for the residents' amenities fund and for Wiltshire Sound.

Dawn

Dawn Bialan

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2025

Dawn joined Buckland Court as Deputy Manager in June 2025. Dawn has worked in Health and Social Care for over 30 years starting as a care assistant.


Dawn has completed her NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, Advanced Management Certificate Level 5 and is currently working towards CIPD Level 7 in Strategic People Management.


Person centred care is at the heart of Dawn’s principles, driving her approach in delivering compassionate, effective, and personalised care to each and every individual resident.


In her spare time, Dawn loves spending time with her family, friends and four dogs, travelling, and walking!

Nicky

Nicky Riggs

Job Title: Care Leader Joined: 2009

Nicky Riggs is Care Leader at Buckland Court. She joined OSJCT in 2009 and has worked her way up to Head of Care.
Starting off as Carer, Nicky felt a sense of belonging and felt like she was making a real difference in the residents' lives.
After a couple of years, Nicky was given the opportunity to become Shift Leader which she really enjoyed. A few years after that Nicky then became Care Leader which entailed guiding new members of staff and organising shifts, liaising with multi-disciplinary teams, attending reviews, and supervising staff members.
Nicky enjoys her role and says it can vary from assisting the Home Manager to budgeting, recruitment, occupancy and rotas. The role also includes giving care, assisting with feeding, dependency paperwork and updating care plans.
Nicky says that Buckland Court feels like an extension of her family and that includes both staff and residents.

Gemma

Gemma Walker

Job Title: Care Leader Joined: 2010

Gemma has been working for the Trust for nearly 10 years and is also the Dementia Lead for Buckland Court. Gemma feels like a part of the family working at Buckland Court and knows that it’s a place of work where she belongs. Gemma is passionate about caring for the residents and is always smiling and ready to face any challenges that may arise. Gemma has helped support many fabulous outings with the residents, but her favourite has to be the Trust's Christmas parties as Gemma loves Christmas. In Gemma’s spare time she likes to spend time with her family, 16 guinea pigs and 2 rabbits.

Leanne

Leanne Crompton

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2014

Leanne Crompton is the Head Chef at Buckland Court, and has worked for the Trust for 6 years.
She loves her job, as seeing the residents enjoying their food and socialising at mealtimes is really satisfying. They strive hard for inclusion at Buckland Court and this includes their meals. Leanne and her team work hard to make sure that the meals they make suit everyone's tastes and dietary requirements.
Outside of work, Leanne's husband and two children keep her busy, but she does find time to play in the local Netball team, and this helps her unwind and stay fit!

Billie

Billie Wicks

Job Title: Activities Co-ordinator Joined: 2025

Billie joined Buckland Court as Activities Co-ordinator in 2025. Previously, Billie worked as a Carer in a variety of settings including supporting people with mental health conditions.


Billie has not worked as an Activities Co-ordinator before and says that what she enjoys about the role is ensuring that the residents have fun. ‘They wait for me to arrive in the morning, and I love seeing the smiles on their faces when they see me.


‘I have developed a really good relationship with the residents at Buckland and tailor the weekly activities according to their choices, hobbies and interests.


‘What I enjoy about working at Buckland is that the staff are all really helpful and friendly.'

Amy Foster

Job Title: Administrator Joined: 2025

Amy joined Buckland Court in 2025. Previously, Amy has worked as a Carer and in retail.


‘What I like about the role is that Buckland is within walking distance of my home. I have grown really fond of the residents and love interacting with them and catching up with the staff.
