Generally very kind and attentive. Feedback sometimes slow and do not seem to let you know if things that disappear from rooms are returned.

I had a simple query about the fees and the people who are supposedly in accounts could/would not even listen to my question. They kept saying irrelevant information which wasn’t in any way helpful to the question and have been very rude. I still am no wiser as to why there is a discrepancy, and have just been told to pay up and shut up! I have never been treated like this in my entire life, my great aunt has complete comprehension and yet she is spoken to like she is an idiot. I can understand how she feels, as this is how they have also spoken to me.

After several months after admission, my mother is very happy and settled.
The staff are very well motivated and nothing is too much trouble.
Even the hunts for aids, glasses and teeth which they carry out with a smile!
My mother has dementia but still enjoys the banter and jokes.
The staff handovers at shift change are very comprehensive.
Mother has problems choking sometimes.
Specialist speech, language therapists are asked to review her regularly.
Special soft diet has been arranged.

Mum is always appropriately dressed.

The quality of care provided by a home depends largely on the quality of its staff and The Cedars is extremely fortunate.
A warm, friendly and helpful atmosphere is very apparent on arrival and I felt sure that The Cedars would give my mother the care I was hoping for. Real relationships are formed between staff and residents.

Three members of staff attended my mother's funeral. I think that says a lot.

My father was a resident at The Cedars for 8 months. In the time that he was there, I was very happy with the care he received. We moved him from The Cedars in March as he had very challenging behaviour due to vascular dementia and needed specialised nursing care. As The Cedars is a residential home his needs could not be met.

My mother has Alzheimer's and has been living at The Cedars for a year now. When I visit she is always happy and contented. The staff are very caring and take the time to listen to suggestions that would make her time more enjoyable for example, types of activities that she enjoys like listening to music. The food is very good and the cleanliness is excellent. The home is well managed and secure and my mum is treated with dignity, giving me peace of mind.

I have been a resident at The Cedars for nine months and find the staff very caring and helpful. My room is satisfactory, however, unlike newer homes, it lacks an ensuite. The room itself is large and comfortable. The food is generally good and activities are frequently available.

I have been a volunteer for a few months now and I enjoy helping out, doing craft lessons, joining in lots of activities with the residents. All staff members are polite and helpful when I need advice or anything. I am getting some experience to hopefully become a carer myself one day.

Father-in-law has settled in well. The staff are friendly and helpful. If there is a concern they are dealt with swiftly and sympathetically. The home is a bright, clean and cheerful place to be. Always feel very welcome and part of the home's community.

The Cedars appears to be run very well. The staff are all very nice and always seem to have time to listen to any comments we may have. My mum has a lovely room and gets looked after very well. The Cedars is close to dads house, so it means he can visit most days. The family are all very happy with the Cedars and hope everything stays the same while mum is there.

Our Mother entered the Cedars at the end of January 2016. Sadly mum passed away in April 2016 our first impressions of the Cedars was great. The staff were very warm and welcoming an mum felt at home, also the Carers and Staff were professional, caring, respectful of mums needs and treated her with dignity.
And I don't want to leave out the kitchen Staff they were wonderful what ever mum wanted for breakfast, lunch, dinner they went out of there way to provide that.

The Cedars and all the Staff and Carers really were awesome, clean rooms, clean bedding. If you are considering or looking into residential care for a loved one I implore you to look into the Cedars at Purton.

From the first visit to the home in October me and my Auntie felt very welcomed all the staff so much so I would be very happy to come here myself if needed. The staff go beyond the call of duty and the home has a lovely atmosphere. Very clean and tidy at all times day and night. Please keep up the first class service. Thank you.
