My wife is calm, contented and clean. Ther is no sign of stress. The staff are cheerful, friendly and informative. My wife reacts warmly to them when they regularly interact with her. Her room is light, bright, cheerful and very clean. Her clothing is well cared for. She eats well and appears healthy.
The
house is spacious, never feels crowded. The staff are always about.
I could not be happier about the care my wife receives.

We are so grateful for the care that Ferfoot give to my brother.
Staff are unfailingly kind, courteous and respectful to him. Physically he is well looked after.
The activity lady is outstanding, we think. So enthusiastic and thoughtful and treats patients wonderfully, always thinking of ways to
spark off memories.
We are pretty overwhelmed by Ferfoot.

Could do with updates on mum, by email, instead of having to ask staff how she is. That has gone downhill of late. Overall, mum is well looked after.

This is my first experience of a care home as my husband was taken ill in October 2017 and as a result of this (a stroke), he has been left with dementia. I have nothing but praise for Ferfoot. From the very beginning, I have been kept fully informed of my husband's welfare, and the care and compassion
of all members of staff are outstanding. The food is excellent and varied with choices for each meal. His room is kept very clean and he also is kept clean and tidy. He is settled and quite happy and I am never afraid to leave him after visits. I am sure he is being kept safe and happy, which reassures me. So overall I am very happy with Ferfoot.

I'm very, very particular about care homes and the standard of service one expects and should receive, and from a professional perspective, I've seen a few nursing homes so have some idea of how to gauge them. From the moment my father arrived at Ferfoot nursing home, he could not have been looked after
any better. The staff were caring, attentive, considerate, kind and always happy and welcoming. Such small, but thoughtful things the staff do make this home and the level of care they provide so much better than many others. The staff are always around and available, but never intrusive. All of the staff make the whole experience of having a relative there, and visiting them, such a warm and welcoming experience. Having used other care homes, I can testify, without any hesitation, that Ferfoot nursing home is a breed apart - caring compassionate, welcoming and staffed by the kindest and most patient of staff. I've never hesitated to recommend them to anyone.

What a lovely "family home" feel.

With great entertainment, singing and dancing and days out.
The staff have a great rapport with each other and especially the residents.

If ever I needed to go into a home - Ferfoot would be at the top of my list. (P.S I'm only 50 - not needed yet).

All staff were very welcoming, open and supportive at all times. Mum had advanced Alzheimer's and needed constant care and from the start, we were confident that she was receiving the care required.
We were informed of any incidents that arose, however small, immediately.

My husband has been in Ferfoot since January 2015. I have been very happy with everything at the home, it is a bright cheerful surrounding. The staff are excellent from the manager to the laundry ladies and cleaners, they can't do enough to make the residents have great care. The staff are always looking
out for the families and are always willing to help whenever they can. I go in most days and it is made easier by the welcome service. Keep up the good work.

My husband was in Ferfoot Care Home for 18 months. He had vascular dementia. The care that he received was excellent. The staff showed him kindness and understanding. They were also very very kind to myself and the family. Sadly my husband passed away on March 9th 2016.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.753)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.753) out of 10 for Ferfoot is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.753 for Ferfoot is calculated as follows: ( (177 Excellents x 5) + (51 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 231 Ratings = 4.753
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ferfoot is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
