My only wish is that my Father could've spent more time here rather than his previous carehome. Somerhill is a truly wonderful Home with an incredible team of caring, empathetic individuals. I cannot thank them enough.
Thank you for such a wonderful review. We are so pleased that your experience was so positive and that the support from the team was caring and empathetic. It is always rewarding to receive such positive reviews and be able to share that what we do is completed with love and support for the resident and their family. Thank you for taking time to complete the review.
My dad was originally placed at Somerhill on a respite basis for my mum's recuperation after hospitalisation. The onboarding process was helped enormously, admin wise, by Linda and Alex despite dad's later discharge from hospital. During his enjoyable time at Somerhill, dad had a great time with staff and appreciated the lovely grounds. Despite moving to palliative care, dad was cared for by the team, especially Hosina and Vicky, in a friendly happy and competitive way until his passing. The team are excellent, always happy and friendly, and overall the most caring people we came across on this journey. Our thanks!
It is always rewarding for the team to receive such a lovely review. We are so pleased that the stay with us was positive and your Dad and your family were able to appreciate the surroundings and feel at ease with us all. It was wonderful that we also celebrated Dad's birthday and he was so pleased with his cake. Thank you for taking the time to complete a review.

It is an absolute pleasure visiting Somerhill no horrible smell it's like home from home and wow what beautiful gardens and views. I am so glad we have Somerhill.
It was a pleasure to be able to offer emergency respite when it was needed. It has been great getting to know your Father-in-Law and yourselves and very pleasing he is so happy and settled at Somerhill. The review is very rewarding as it reflects the aim of what we want to achieve. All residents...
I contacted Somerhill House for respite care for my mother. They could not have been more helpful at a stressful time. I cannot rate highly enough the kindness and care. My mother has been treated like an individual and given so much love. Everyone smiles and greets us as if they have known us forever. She is now planning to stay for residential care. (And that amazing garden and view...).
I am pleased Somerhill were helpful when you were stressed and assisted to make the journey to living in a care home a pleasant experience. Every resident is an individual and have wonderful life stories to share with us all. Your Mum is certainly no exception and is so happy to recall her memories. Thank you for this lovely review.
From the beginning, everyone has been amazing! Friendly, smiley, helpful and caring. We were so nervous to trust our Aunt as we had been doing the care, but we couldn't cope anymore. Since her arrival, every aspect of care and support has been truly fab. In fact, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend here for anyone else, and have told my kids I would be happy here when the time comes. The rooms are glorious, the garden is stunning, and it's so safe here. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and my aunt
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I am so pleased that it was such a positive experience and that we were able to support your Aunt and yourselves. It is very pleasing that you would recommend the home to others. We are very fortunate to have such beautiful and accessible garden with marvellous views.
Linda, the manager and her team could not have been more caring, considerate & supportive. The care has improved over the past year with less use of agency staff & nurses which gives consistency of care and familiarity for the residents.
The experienced team are so committed & really went the extra mile every day to make Mam comfortable , she was always greeted with a smile and treated with gentleness and respect .The team cared for her so well as she became increasingly frail, especially the nursing staff & care coordinator who were so aware of her needs and took time to really listen to how she was feeling.
Her end of life care was exemplary , she and the family were treated with real compassion & care. The rooms are bright & lovely, the gardens are really beautiful.
I never imagined a nursing home could be so full of care.& highly recommend Somerhill
This is such a lovely review and brought tears to my eyes. Your Mum was a pleasure to have in the home and is missed by us all. She will always be fondly remembered.
Recommended, looked after mum and mum-in-law exceptionally, staff happy and treat residents as family.
It was an absolute pleasure looking after your Mum and Mum-in-Law. They were both a part of our Somerhill family and we remember them both fondly. It is always sad when it is time to say goodbye but our memories of residents live on. Thank you for completing the review, these mean so much to the team at Somerhill.
John transferred to Somerhill in March 2026 following a lengthy stay in hospital. Since he arrived in Somerhill I have seen a big improvement in his mental and physical abilities. The home has a good friendly atmosphere and the staff and carers could not be more helpful or caring. Residents are treated with care and respect and are well looked after. The food and facilities are also good and the outside garden is delightful and user friendly with plenty of seating.
It has been very rewarding to see your husband improve and be able to return home where we hope he will continue to improve and you will be able to enjoy being together and making memories. We aim to be friendly and caring and maintain a relaxed atmosphere to enable our residents to feel comfortable in their own environment. Thank you for taking the time to complete a review card.
I'm always greeted warmly by whichever member of staff unlocks the front door to let me in. The staff and management are always very cheerful and helpful. There is a lovely atmosphere throughout. On observing the staff, they are very kind, helpful and caring towards the residents. The home is beautifully decorated, provides activities for the residents and the gardens are a delight!
What a lovely review. It is always very rewarding to receive such positive feedback. Thank you for taking the time to complete a review.
My son was placed here after 4 weeks in hospital with an incurable brain tumor. The overall care in Somerhill was excellent. The staff were very caring and treated my son with the utmost dignity. I would highly recommend this care home.

He has a lovely room with views over countryside and all the staff look after him with lots of care and plenty of smiles.
Staff are always available to help with any issues or problems and the nursing staff with all his medical needs
It is great to be able to support a resident successfully moving from one care environment to another. Dad's room has got magnificent views and it will be fantastic to be able to sit out in the garden when the weather is warmer and drier. The staff team are fantastic and genuinely care which has a positive impact on the atmosphere in the home. Many thanks for taking time to complete the review.
The staff cannot do enough to make the residents feel happy, comfortable and at home. I cannot find fault in anything and am happy that my father is very well cared for.

My mother was living at Somerhill from July 2024 until November 2025 when she died.
I couldn't have asked for a better home.Mum was very close to the carers.
The home is clean, modern and set in beautiful gardens. Everyone is well fed and looked after including the visiting relatives.
Thank you for taking time to complete a review for Somerhill. I am very pleased that your Mum was able to enjoy the gardens and had a good relationship with the carers. It is great that you had a positive overall experience.
Although my mums stay with you was very brief (only four weeks) we were very impressed with the care she received. From our interview with the manager to access the place to the way mums death was handled at the end was first class. Mum was very happy there and commented several times on how she was treated and how lovely the staff were.
Thank you for completing a review for Somerhill Care Home. I am so pleased that the experience was positive and that Mum and yourselves were impressed with the care given. Although your Mum was only with us for a brief time it was a pleasure to get to know her and hear her stories of the local area from when she was younger.
Having worked in the care sector myself, I can give an honest opinion of our experience at Somerhill and I would like to say my close friend spent her days in a beautiful setting with the care and attention from who ensured she was comfortable with all needs met. Not only did my friend feel the closeness of the member of the staff, but I was always made to feel welcome, greeted with a smile and politeness as soon as I walked through the door.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. We really do appreciate your honest opinion and are very pleased it was such a positive experience for your close friend and yourself.
My parents both moved in within a week of each other at very short notice. The care which has taken to make them feel at home was brilliant, along with assessing all elements of their needs. I so appreciated the kindness and help by the manager and all the staff at such a difficult time for our family.
Thank you for taking time to complete a review. It is very rewarding to be able to assist your parents and make Somerhill their home. Supporting the people in the local community is so important and moving locally to a care home is easier when you can have your friends visit and maintain your social life.
Like always, when visiting my grand, the staff were happy, welcoming and polite. Couldn't do enough, always chatty and smiley. Great to see the manager popping in to chat to residents at lunchtime.
Thank you for a positive review. I am so pleased that the staff are so welcoming and that they are cheerful. As a manager I feel it is so important to see the residents and for them to know I am approachable if they should wish to see me.
Very attentive and always there to help with my grandparents no matter the issue. There also very smiley and say hello whenever I visit.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for Somerhill. I am so pleased that you always feel the staff are very attentive. It is a pleasure caring for your grandparents.
When visiting with our dog we were welcomed by staff and a manager. Helped with negotiating entry/exit doors and our dog was introduced to other residents! As always, a very welcoming, homely atmosphere. Our relatives both very well cared for. The daily activities and the outings particularly good for one of them. Please keep doing what you are doing. Thank you.
Thank you for such a positive review. I am so pleased the staff are so welcoming and you feel the homely atmosphere at Somerhill. We will endeavour to continue with our positive ways and outings which residents will enjoy.
