My brother moved into Kingston House in the middle of March 2023. It was a big decision, but from the moment I contacted Kingston House the team were brilliant in helping to smooth the transition and to welcome him into his new home. Since moving in the change in him has been remarkable. He enjoys the meals and has participated in activities and outings. He is looking forward to being able to sit out in the lovely gardens when the weather allows. The staff have been wonderful in helping him settle into his new home, through their quiet, understanding and professional approach. If I need to discuss anything relating to his care someone is always available to talk to and follow up with action if required. My brother's move to the care home was something that we all felt rather anxious about, particularly given a geographic move. I am pleased to say it has been successful, and in large part that is due to the high level of care given by the team at Kingston House.

My husband has been a resident of Lavender Lodge within the home since August 2020. In the early days, I was unable to visit him inside due to Covid restrictions and could not comment on the interior facilities. Since life returned to (almost) normal, I have been able to see inside and am very happy with what I’ve observed.
The home is bright, clean and well-maintained. The staff are very kind (to both of us) and obviously really care for the residents, who are consulted about such details as the paint colours. Activities are many and varied and cater for different abilities and interests. There are relatives’ drop-in sessions at which we are encouraged to voice our views.

The home has an excellent management team and is well-led (staff speak highly of them too). I highly recommend Kingston House.

I can not praise this wonderful home enough and we consider ourselves extremely lucky that my dad is a resident there. He has been at this amazing care home for 3 years. He suffers from dementia and the staff are absolutely brilliant with him. He will very often pace the corridors late at night, and sleep in till late morning, which is absolutely no problem for the staff, who always have time to speak to him, make him a cup of tea or something to eat! I can not thank the manager and the brilliant team there enough. They keep me informed on my dad's care with regular updates, the care and respect from all the staff is exceptional. They treat Dad with the utmost dignity.

Our mother was 92 need started to need continuous care, the team at Kingston made an excellent impression during our selection process which has continued throughout the couple of months she has now resided at Kingston House. They have ensured the transition has been smooth and as least stressful for our mother and her children. Constant communication, as both her children live over 100 miles away, has ensured we are constantly aware of our mother's health and welfare. Highly recommended.

My mother spent 2 weeks in respite while I was on holiday. She was so well looked after by all the staff, she really enjoyed all the activities and the company of the residents. She would never hesitate to be in their care at any time in the future. Thank you to everybody involved.

Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease almost three years ago and we managed to care for her at home throughout the pandemic, but needed help this summer as her illness had progressed beyond our capabilities. She moved into Kingston House and the love, care and support she has received from the fantastic team has made a hugely positive impact. As a result, Mum has settled in very well and is so much less anxious and distressed than she was a few months ago. I cannot commend the team at Kingston House enough, or express sufficiently the gratitude the whole family feel. Kingston House has provided a safe, loving and supportive place for Mum to live and us to visit.

Kingston House continues to provide my mum with excellent care and is a safe friendly environment. The staff go the extra mile to ensure mums needs are catered for and having had a spell in hospital she couldn’t wait to get out and be back “home” again.

The manager and staff keep me up to date with how mum is on a regular basis which as I don’t live locally are essential and I never feel that anything is too much trouble. I cannot recommend Kingston House enough!

Thanks to the amazing support and care that he has received, my dad has been extremely calm and comfortable at Kingston House since arriving for emergency respite care a few weeks ago. Everyone has been incredibly kind and supportive and we couldn't be more grateful to the lovely staff for all their help.

Mum has been in four weeks and so far so good. The staff are all very kind and look after mum well. Visiting access is good even in these difficult times. The food seems to be very good - wine with meals which mum loves!

We contacted Kingston house, Calne after 2 local friends told us about how well their relatives had been treated whilst in their care. We had to arrange some emergency respite after another care home had let us down. From the initial phone call through to taking our Great Aunt of 102 years in, the process was flawless. All the staff have welcomed her and made her feel at home, in a time that is very confusing for her. We needed a care home desperately and they stepped up. Thank you for your good work and for keeping our Great Aunty safe.

Very pleased with the care Mum has been receiving. She came to Kingston House on the day of lockdown so we have been unable to visit her properly. However, the care staff have gone out of their way to make Mum feel comfortable and at home and their kindness to us has been lovely. Mum is very happy there.

Since Lockdown, Kingston House has done their utmost to accommodate visits for families of residents. I am very grateful for all they have done for my Mum over the last 7 years and continue to provide the best care and compassion she could ever need. I am so fortunate to still do window visits and be able to see my Mum on a weekly basis. This would not be possible if it wasn't for the carers who always get Mum ready for me on a weekly basis, keeping her wrapped up in the living room while I stand outside following the Covid restrictions.

My aunt has been a resident in Kingston House since August 2020 and her settling in period went well despite having to quarantine initially. All staff have been very accommodating when I telephoned or visited whether officially as an attorney or personally. We have visited our aunt in the garden area over the time she has been there and the staff have offered us facilities for Zoom calls. My aunt has taken part in activities at the home including bingo. She seems well and settled. When she has needed GP/hospital care, the home has arranged it for her. I am pleased with the care she has been given. Thank you.

Very happy with the service, my mum has good care taken of her and any queries or questions I have are dealt with quickly. Due to Covid, I have not seen Mum's room or any of the facilities but she seems very comfortable. My answers to the following questions are based on a general impression due to not entering the building.

The only negative comment I have is that there seems to be a slight lack of communication between staff when it comes to asking me for the cat's needs (worming tablets, litter etc), I have had calls from various staff members asking me to provide worming tablets which I sent in 2 weeks before, perhaps a list could be made and written on when the phone call to me had been made?

In general, my mother's care has been very good. do feel they could di with more staff on duty at times. I would like to pay tribute to all the staff during this difficult time of the coronavirus. Considering the pressure and demands I feel they have been excellent. Mum loves the food she says it is a very high standard.

This has been a difficult time but I can only praise the staff and management for the care they have given to my mother during the lockdown. The management has taken steps to try to keep the virus out by locking down early. Unfortunately, there were some deaths but I believe that it could have been a whole lot worse. We are now having garden visits which are very welcome. I would certainly recommend Kingston House as a place of extremely caring staff who go out of their way to provide a homely atmosphere for our loved ones.

My mother really feels at home at Kingston House where she is very well looked after and is treated with respect by all the staff. She loves her room, the food and the grounds. She is very fond of the staff who treat her so kindly. She has many friends amongst the other residents. Despite her dementia, she enjoys a reall quality of life which she would not have if she lived on her own. Family members are able to visit freely and are never made to feel unwelcome. We are most grateful to the staff. Thank you to all at Kingston House.

Mum moved in during June 2018 and my family are very impressed with the care and compassion shown to her. All the staff are friendly and helpful and respond quickly to Mum's needs.
The quality of the meals is very high. Drinks and snacks are frequent.
In terms of administration, it has all been very straightforward and they have been very patient in waiting for funding to come through.

A small, homely care home which we are very pleased with.
