Funding & Fees

Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

My mum passed away January 10th after being ill since December. The care and compassion through the last difficult days was just so good. They were also thoughtful to me as the last few days were very traumatic for me.


Their care helped make a very sad time a little easier and nothing was too much

trouble. An amazing care team.

Our dear mum was welcomed into Marden Court and had an extremely contented 14 years there until her very recent passing at the home. Mum embraced life there, continuing to enjoy many of her loves; bingo, quizzes, skittles, musical entertainment or simply enjoy the tranquility of the garden and she was
very much encouraged by staff every step of the way.
The care and support mum received was consistently high with regular reviews that we as family always attended and during which mum’s care needs and general well-being was openly discussed and all aspects explored.
As mum’s health took a significant decline in recent months the staff displayed such kindness and very special care with respect and dignity.
Marden Court was, in our mum’s words, her ‘home’ where she built many friendships.
As a family, we always felt welcomed, whether sons, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, we’ve all enjoyed our visits to Great Nanny’s house.
It became a big part of our family life, a place where many memories were made.

Marden Court is a well-maintained care home, with reasonably appointed rooms, lounges, common areas and dining room. The outdoor space is appealing and a pleasant place to enjoy the sunshine. Staff are very professional, friendly and go out of their way to try and meet the needs of residents. Looking
after the elderly, many with dementia is a tough challenge, but staff demonstrate a caring approach, showing empathy and try and treat residents as individuals.


Staff are very well trained as demonstrated one day when I was visiting - an emergency occurred, and all staff responded immediately and had the incident under control within about a minute. Impressive reaction and a positive outcome. Although my preference would have been to have my mother live in her flat, circumstances dictated otherwise, but Marden Court is a most satisfactory alternative.

This is a fantastic care home. Clean and well run with excellent, friendly staff. Small with a very 'personal' atmosphere. Today, as usual, we were made welcome and found Mum happy and content with her surroundings.

On arrival at Marden Court we were greeted by very helpful and friendly staff. The level of kindness and hospitality we received exceeded our expectations. Since settling in, Mother seems to have a new lease of life. I cannot fault any of the staff there. The level of care Mother receives is superb
in her every need.
When visiting, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Superb facility.

Marden Court is a friendly Care Home providing individual care for residents with limited physical or mental capacity. As a volunteer and church minister I have only had tea and cakes but the lunches smell good. I know from residents I have spoken to that they enjoy the food and individual requirements
are catered for. There is a lovely garden, recently planted out and has the addition of colourful garden furniture. The lounge has recently been decorated and has seating appropriate to the needs of the residents. A very enjoyable morning was had recently with a visit from a Ukulele player.

Marden Court is a lovely home. My mother stayed for a respite stay to get a feel of care homes and I couldn't of been happier. The staff were all friendly and nothing was ever to much. My mum settled in really well and still talks about going back to Marden Court.

Dean

Dean Palfrey

Job Title: Home Manager & Peripatetic Operations Manager Joined: 2014

Dean has worked with The Orders of St John Care Trust for almost 14 years, during which time he has had the pleasure of managing several of our services across the organisation. He brings with me over 10 years of management experience and a deep passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care, as well as a Level 7 qualification in senior leadership.


In addition to his role at Marden Court, Dean also manages Athelstan House in Malmesbury, and serves as a Peripatetic Operations Manager.


His ethos and vision is to ensure that residents living at Marden Court experience a positive environment, with a team who are happy to develop opportunities and good relationships with the local community.

Jackie

Jackie Pringle

Job Title: Administration Assistant Joined: 2015

Jackie Pringle is the Administration Assistant at Marden Court. Although she had never worked in a Residential Care Home before joining the Trust, she managed a Domiciliary Care, a Handyman, Gardening Services and a Befriender project for older people in their own homes for 10 years. She has a BTEC in Business and Finance and has a background in the banking industry. She was jointly nominated in the Employee Awards in 2018. Jackie enjoys the interaction with Residents, Visitors and colleagues and likes to help make a difference to people and has a good sense of humour. In her spare time, Jackie enjoys relaxing with her family and her grandchildren.

Kirsty

Kirsty Comley

Job Title: Head Housekeeper Joined: 2014

Kirsty has 20 years’ experience in Care before leaving work to have her 2 children, but wanted to return to this field of work. She started as a Housekeeper at Marden Court in 2014 and became Head Housekeeper in 2015. She has achieved her NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping, Level 3 in Leadership and Management and is currently completing her Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services which will be completed in November 2020. She is a Manual Handling trainer and an Assistant Fire Marshall. Kirsty won Hospitality of the Year Award in 2019 at the OSJCT staff awards. She really enjoys her job and seeing the relationships between herself and the Housekeeping team build with the Residents. Kirsty enjoys relaxing with her partner and her children.

Pete

Pete Reid

Job Title: Handyman Joined: 2012

Peter is the Handyman at the Orders of St John Care Trust, Marden Court in Wiltshire and has spent his working career involved in design, construction and management.


He is a time-served mechanical engineer, spent a number of years designing and installing commercial catering projects, has been a project manager and has run his own computer repair business. The skills developed enable Peter to carry out an extensive range of construction and repairs around the care home and manage external contractors effectively.


Peter enjoys all aspects of the Handyman role and gets great satisfaction helping people and providing the residents with innovative facilities to improve their daily lives.


In his spare time Peter enjoys wood and metalwork and more recently, glass fusing. More relaxing pursuits include reading crime/thriller novels and visiting historic buildings.
