Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

I myself and all out family could not wish for a better place for my wife to be cared for.
The management and carers all do a wonderful caring job, not only for my wife I feel they also seem to care for me, it is so nice she is being so well cared for.

Dad became a permanent resident at Ridgeway House in March 2023. All the staff have been amazing with Dad; polite, courteous, patient, caring and attentive. The care home itself is always clean and tidy and smells fresh and clean. The garden is well looked after with plenty of outside seating and well

Dad spent two weeks at Ridgeway House Care Home for respite care. From our first visit through to Dad's stay, all the staff were extremely friendly, caring and couldn't do enough to support Dad as well as us as a family.

Mum only moved in today, 6/2/2023, but my experience so far has been very good. Everyone has been very helpful and friendly. The manager has been very helpful in making Mum's transition here very easy. Very difficult to comment on other things as Mum's only just arrived.

Ridgeway House has looked after my friend for three and a half years and always treated her with respect and kindness. They have worked to ensure she has food that meets her 'fussy' eating patterns and encourage her to join in activities. The care team is very well supported by an excellent laundry,
housekeeping and activity team. Improvement in communication with families would be a help and we are very much looking forward to working with the new Head of Care and the Manager.

The home is pleasant. The staff are very kind and caring. The food is very good, there is plenty of choice for the food and is nice (also a choice of teas). When my mother-in-law went into the home, she was very distressed to be losing her independence. However, now, some 12 months later and despite the current situation, she is very contented and happy. She likes the way she is looked after and enjoys the food.

The staff are all very welcoming and supportive, not only to the residents but also the relatives that have had to make the difficult decision to place a loved one into care.
My Mum has advanced dementia and the transition for her was very difficult and confusing. Although she has only been at Ridgeway
House for a few weeks, each week has shown a marked improvement from the initial backward steps she experienced. That can only be put down to the dedicated care staff. The transition has not been helped due to the Covid-19 virus but staff have gone out of their way to make visiting a more positive experience for both my Mum and us, her family.

Very impressed with how the home has coped with lockdown and Covid-19. They seemed to time shutting down and beginning to open to visitors perfectly. Arrangements for making our visits work very well. I have never had problems visiting at around the time I wanted to and am always welcomed by carers.
My mother has improved physically so much since she entered the home in January. Her dementia is worsening all the time but the carers are doing their best for her and she is happier than she was on her own.

All staff are friendly and caring but a few members stand out as particularly special. Lots of inclusive activities, and a lovely garden. Good varied food and Ridgeway is kept lovely and clean. I'm writing this review during Covid-19, where all staff are doing their best and going above and beyond.
Although we can't visit, I can confidently trust the staff are keeping residents safe, happy, loved and connected to family.

I have always found the atmosphere on entering Ridgeway has been warm and welcoming, everyone is happy and professional in their work.
I feel that they are very caring and are doing a fantastic job in this difficult time, I applaud them all. I know that mum, having only just moved in has been finding
it difficult to adjust, especially with being in her room, (not what she envisaged when deciding to move in). She like many is confused about life as it is but, I know she is in safe hands and that they are trying to do activities with her to brighten her day.
It has been lovely being able to video call mum, it's so important.
The management and staff always listen to any concerns I have and act on them.
I can not think of a better place for mum to be at this present time. I have nothing but admiration for everyone there.

My father has been living at Ridgeway House for nearly 4 years now and we (the family) are very pleased with the care he receives. He is extremely happy and is always lovely to see when we visit. The carers are always cheerful and very helpful but I have to say since the lockdown due to Coronavirus
they have been excellent! It has been very difficult not to be able to see my dad but the updates on a social media app and video messaging calls have certainly helped in these difficult times. Everyone at Ridgeway is doing a truly amazing job keeping our dear dad safe and well. Thank you so much we really do appreciate it.

Hannah

Hannah Mason

Job Title: Home Manager

Hannah has been Ridgeway Home Manager since early 2022 and has worked in the care sector for 11 years.
Prior to Ridgeway, Hannah was Deputy Manager at Goodson Lodge in Trowbridge.
Initially, she started her career as a Carer and her potential was quickly recognised as she gained the position of Senior Carer after only two years.
Hannah held the position of Senior Carer within several home care companies for the next 9 years.
During this time Hannah went to college part-time to gain her Level 3 National Diploma in Health and Social Care, before advancing to complete her Level 5 in Leadership and Management of Health and Social Care Services in 2017.
What Hannah loves most about her job is making a difference in people's lives and forming meaningful relationships with residents, health care professionals and colleagues.
Hannah makes a point of ensuring that she has experience in all shifts so that she can fully understand the needs and challenges faced by her team.

Karen

Karen Collins

Job Title: Care Leader Joined: 2012

Karen has worked in Domiciliary Care for 10 years and started at Ridgeway House as a Carer in 2012. She completed her QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care in 2018 and enjoys her role very much, especially the responsibilities and challenges that it brings. Karen feels that being part of Ridgeway House is very rewarding and that it is nice to know you are making a difference to someone else’s life.

Nikki

Nikki Large

Job Title: Day Centre Co-ordinator Joined: 2012

Nikki started with OSJCT at Athelstan House on the rehab unit Primrose. After learning about a vacancy at the Lorna Doone Day Centre at Ridgeway House, she successfully applied for the position and began her new role in 2014.


With 28 years of experience in domiciliary care and rehab, the day centre felt like a fantastic way to help her local community by providing her clients with entertainment such as bingo, quizzes and games. She has said that it is satisfying to know our clients leave the day centre having had a fulfilling day.


Outside of work Nikki enjoys spending time with her friends, family and her Border Collie Sonny. She is a keen gardener and on the weekends can often be found at her local garden centre and car boot sales looking for ways for she and her husband can add to their garden.

Alison

Alison Chapman

Job Title: Administration Assistant

Alison has worked in the care industry for almost 9 years and she commenced her care working life in the local Hospice working alongside volunteers, prior to years of working for large international company as a Customer Service Manager. Alison gained an interest in dementia care when her and her family experienced it first-hand. She therefore went off to study it and gained an NCFE level 3 in Dementia care. She is now loving working part time at Ridgeway House supporting the staff and families on the administration side of care. Alison feels like they are one big family all working together to keep their residents safe and happy. A warm welcome awaits everyone who comes here. In her spare time, Alison goes to music concerts and the theatre quite a lot, and her favourite holiday destination is Cyprus.
