I am very happy with the care my father-in-law receives. It was a big family decision to accept that my wife could not look after her father any longer. The staff and management are amazing and made the transition so much easier. Dad is so happy in his room and loves all the staff. It seems to be one big family. There is a lovely atmosphere in the home and the staff are very busy they have time for the families as well.

My mum has been at Ridgeway House since April 2023. In that time, unfortunately, her Alzheimer’s and physical health have deteriorated so this has made it harder for her to join in with activities. However, it is not for want of trying by the team at Ridgeway House! They obviously care about the residents and always have a smile and kind words to say when myself and my wife visit. When Mum first arrived there were some issues with the laundry service so Mum did run out of clothes sometimes. This appears to be much better now. There was also a short period of time in Nov/Dec when Mum’s room was not very clean. However, again, this seems to have improved. Both issues, I believe were due to being short-staffed. Although it is hard to see Mum as she is now, we know she is well looked after, the food always seems lovely and the staff are very caring and friendly.

My husband has been in Ridgeway for a while. He is very happy and loves it! Quite a thing for me as I live in Spain and see him rarely. The home is amazing; they look after him so well and have been understanding and fabulous to me when I manage to come over! The food is fab here. Thank you so much! Care fab, all fab!

Dad became a permanent resident at Ridgeway House in March 2023. All the staff have been amazing with Dad; polite, courteous, patient, caring and attentive. The care home itself is always clean and tidy and smells fresh and clean. The garden is well looked after with plenty of outside seating and well attended borders.

Dad spent two weeks at Ridgeway House Care Home for respite care. From our first visit through to Dad's stay, all the staff were extremely friendly, caring and couldn't do enough to support Dad as well as us as a family.

Mum only moved in today, 6/2/2023, but my experience so far has been very good. Everyone has been very helpful and friendly. The manager has been very helpful in making Mum's transition here very easy. Very difficult to comment on other things as Mum's only just arrived.

Ridgeway House has looked after my friend for three and a half years and always treated her with respect and kindness. They have worked to ensure she has food that meets her 'fussy' eating patterns and encourage her to join in activities. The care team is very well supported by an excellent laundry, housekeeping and activity team. Improvement in communication with families would be a help and we are very much looking forward to working with the new Head of Care and the Manager.

The home is pleasant. The staff are very kind and caring. The food is very good, there is plenty of choice for the food and is nice (also a choice of teas). There is plenty of entertainment, which is good fun, and the entertainment staff listen to any idea that crops up. A good home, staff are caring, and if there is any problems, they help you.

When my mother-in-law went into the home, she was very distressed to be losing her independence. However, now, some 12 months later and despite the current situation, she is very contented and happy. She likes the way she is looked after and enjoys the food.

The staff are all very welcoming and supportive, not only to the residents but also the relatives that have had to make the difficult decision to place a loved one into care.

My Mum has advanced dementia and the transition for her was very difficult and confusing. Although she has only been at Ridgeway House for a few weeks, each week has shown a marked improvement from the initial backward steps she experienced. That can only be put down to the dedicated care staff. The transition has not been helped due to the Covid-19 virus but staff have gone out of their way to make visiting a more positive experience for both my Mum and us, her family.

Very impressed with how the home has coped with lockdown and Covid-19. They seemed to time shutting down and beginning to open to visitors perfectly. Arrangements for making our visits work very well. I have never had problems visiting at around the time I wanted to and am always welcomed by carers. My mother has improved physically so much since she entered the home in January. Her dementia is worsening all the time but the carers are doing their best for her and she is happier than she was on her own.
