Ridgeway House

When my mother-in-law went into the home, she was very distressed to be losing her independence. However, now, some 12 months later and despite the current situation, she is very contented and happy. She likes the way she is looked after and enjoys the food.

Excellent communication and support even though I am across the pond in America. Thank you for your efforts to keep us in touch. Move-in was simple, genuine caring workers. Food is spoken about with enthusiasm!

My Mum has advanced dementia and the transition for her was very difficult and confusing. Although she has only been at Ridgeway House for a few weeks, each week has shown a marked improvement from the initial backward steps she experienced. That can only be put down to the dedicated care staff. The transition has not been helped due to the Covid-19 virus but staff have gone out of their way to make visiting a more positive experience for both my Mum and us, her family.

Very impressed with how the home has coped with lockdown and Covid-19. They seemed to time shutting down and beginning to open to visitors perfectly. Arrangements for making our visits work very well. I have never had problems visiting at around the time I wanted to and am always welcomed by carers. My mother has improved physically so much since she entered the home in January. Her dementia is worsening all the time but the carers are doing their best for her and she is happier than she was on her own.

I can not think of a better place for mum to be at this present time. I have nothing but admiration for everyone there.

My father has been living at Ridgeway House for nearly 4 years now and we (the family) are very pleased with the care he receives. He is extremely happy and is always lovely to see when we visit. The carers are always cheerful and very helpful but I have to say since the lockdown due to Coronavirus they have been excellent! It has been very difficult not to be able to see my dad but the updates on a social media app and video messaging calls have certainly helped in these difficult times. Everyone at Ridgeway is doing a truly amazing job keeping our dear dad safe and well. Thank you so much we really do appreciate it.

I have found everybody very nice and helpful, all very pleasant and helpful, good food, comfortable rooms and good food, a very nice home to be in when you are not 100% fit.

My mother is nearly 92 and almost at the end of her life. We are very impressed with the staff in the home and the standard of care. Everybody there is looking after her very well and making her feel comfortable.

My Dad went into Ridgeway House for respite when Mum had a fall. Mum was in hospital for an extended stay so Dad was there longer than expected. I have nothing but admiration and thanks for the wonderful care and help that was given. I would also like to thank the manager and the staff for all their support for me and my family at this stressful time.

Excellent care. Kind and understanding staff, clean and tidy environment. Always someone to talk to about my mothers care.

My father came to have respite and ended up staying. The staff are so lovely and friendly. They know how to manage my dad. They all love him. His room is very comfortable, he is in a very safe environment, I don't have to worry about him. It's close by. He's made lots of friends and takes part in activities. A true home from home!

Mum has been here over 6 months after an accident left her no longer able to care for herself. The staff have assisted in her recovery to the extent she is now able to walk again though with an aid, also they have helped slow down her dementia.

My Mother moved into Ridgeway House in March 2018. Prior to moving in I had visited the home and was impressed with the attitude of the staff who greeted all residents by their first name. Ridgeway also passed the 'smell test'. Whilst a little 'dated' my Mothers room is functional and suited to her needs. Staff are friendly, attentive and caring. My Mother settled in very quickly - she is 97 and I am happy for her to remain there.

Ridgeway House has been a welcoming and friendly place for my aunt who has had to cope with the loss of her husband and leaving her home.

The team provided a practical, quick and caring solution for the family at a difficult time.

My mother has settled in well and is encouraged to talk to other residents and join activities. Mum is doing so much better in this calm and caring environment.

I placed my mother into Ridgeway House as she was not able to look after herself. I have not regretted it. Ridgeway House is run by a very lovely lady and all the staff are friendly and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is excellent, the rooms are good and well maintained. Ridgeway House is always clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Overall, it is a lovely place for my mother to live.

The atmosphere is jovial and active. There was a warm welcome greeting me whenever I visited or phoned.
