I found the whole experience eye opening and very positive. I was able to see my cousin's husband daily. The staff were completely amazing. I take my hat off to them as the saying goes, I was welcomed to the unit and also my visits following their very helpful week.
Thanks to all the staff.
Thank you for your kind words, which I will pass this on to the staff team. It was a pleasure being able to support you following your surgery and look forward to you visiting us again soon.
My mothers mental and physical condition deteriorated in her previous care home. Her dementia and consequential fear appears to have stabilised in the past 12 months and she now appears to be far more relaxed and comfortable. This stabilisation is clearly attributable to the very high standard of care and the friendly, relaxed environment at the home,
Always clean and friendly. Lovely to see our friend Phylis looking so happy and tidy. Thank you Charnwood House.
Thank you for your kind words, I am glad you can see your friend is so happy. I will pass on your feedback to the staff.
We could not have asked for anything more.
Thanks to all staff, from , kitchen , cleaners, care staff, and those in the background.
Fabulous home.
Thank you for your kind words, we are so pleased that we made such an impact. I know the staff will really appreciate your feedback.
My mother in law has recently become a resident at Charnwood. The care and professionalism from all the staff has been amazing. They have made her feel welcome from the carers, seniors, management, entertainment, catering staff and everyone at the home and this has helped immensely with the transition. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is clean, airy and all the amenities cater for all needs. Thank you all, as a family we are very pleased with the care she is receiving
Thank you for your kind words, I will pass this on to the staff as I know they will appreciate it. I am so glad that you are happy with the care and your mother in law has settled well onto Oak.
Lovely lounge area for residents to do activities or a meal with relatives. Food was nice, my Dad enjoyed the meals.
Management were also good and quite understanding and accomodating with my Dad's needs.
We were really happy with this care home and staff.
My grandma had a positive experience here an it was clear to me the staff do care and looked after her during her stay.
During our visits, myself and my family were able to see her regularly and without issue. I very much appreciated the time I had with my loved one and thank the staff there for being so accommodating.
Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure for us to care for your grandma and we are so glad that you had such a positive experience with us. I will pass on your feedback to our staff as I know they will appreciate it.
I was only able to visit a few times while Grandma was there, but each time the staff were very friendly and easy to talk to, the food looked good, the place was clean, and well presented and the room was lovely.
Please, please if you can check on your loved ones whenever you can to keep them safe from harm and prevent further deterioration. If only the care provided was as dedicated and amazing as the activities in which Emma provides then it would be an amazing care home but because the management are not up to scratch and failing their residents the staff are not being trained accordingly. If you do raise concerns nothing comes from it and you are made to feel inadequate and your concerns get covered up or ignored. Whilst this home does have a handful of amazing staff that work so hard and do their best, unfortunately they are a sinking ship trying to cross the river with no paddle.
We take all concerns about residents' wellbeing extremely serious and are glad that we have been able to arrange a meeting with you to discuss your concerns.
This is not a care home. It is a residential home. "Care" by seniors and management is minimal. Keep checking on your loved ones yourself because that will keep them alive. Giving your concerns to management will fall on deaf ears. You will be fobbed off with platitudes like "I'll look into this". There is no follow up. Nothing ever changes. Procedures are poor. Just keep paying and they are happy.
We take all concerns about residents' wellbeing extremely serious and would welcome the opportunity to review the issues you have raised and understand where we...
I have always felt the warmth of staff on my visits and my wife speaks very highly of them all. On each of my visits any questions or concerns I have, have been answered in a friendly and satisfying manner. I have been invited to join in any event taking place and my wife enjoys every one she has attended. I was so upset that my wife had to be admitted but since she has been here she seems so happy and content and her photos on the website have given us all so much pleasure and satisfaction and all the family know we have made the right decision.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so glad you made the decision and that you also enjoy taking part in our activities together. You are always welcome to join us and I will pass on your feedback to our staff.
From the onset staff have been welcoming and helpful. Personal care has been excellent. When I felt mum needed further medication, staff listened to my concerns and called the GP. After visiting several potential homes as soon as I entered Charnwood I felt mum would be happy there.
The staff are lovely, always engaging with mum. Lots of smiles.
Management are always available, often just for a chat.
The food throughout the day is very good quality and varied.
Residents rooms have en-suite w/c and shower. Each unit has its own lounge area and kitchen/dining area. There is a much larger communal lounge used for group activities.
Mum's room has her own furniture and pictures on the walls and her treasured ornaments.
There is a residents family and friends group TWIRL (Together we improve residents lives) who meet every month to put forward ideas and offer to help with the many activities.
I was told from the first day to feel at home and treat Charnwood house as mum's home. Mum's fellow residents and carers are like a family.
Mum is happy, and I'm happy that mum is being very well cared for.
Lovely care home for dementia. The staff are very caring and accommodating with any issues that may arise. They are knowledgeable with ideas and solutions for my dads individual needs. They go above and beyond to keep him happy, loved, cared for and safe. Thank you all for all of your support!
I would like to thank all the staff and carers at Charnwood House, your love, care, understanding and support for Norma has been wonderful. Extending such great understanding and empathy for members of our family. Your kindness and high standards have ensured that the close of Mum's life has been honoured with dignity and respect. We will always remember the outstanding contribution you have made.
My dad became very ill very quickly while I was visiting him. The staff were outstanding in their response to an emergency situation. My dad was taken to hospital within 20 mins but he died 4 days later. I cannot praise the staff enough for how they handled a very serious situation, being both professional, calm & caring.
I will always be grateful to Charnwood for looking after my dad so well.
Thank you for such a lovely review, your words will mean so much to all of the staff. We were very fortunate to have been able to look after your dad and were very saddened that he was unable to come back to us from hospital. Thank you again from all the staff at Charnwood House.
The care my Mother-in-law received at Charnwood House was first class. She was treated respectfully at all times and the staff seemed genuinely concerned for her well being at all times. The end of care treatment she received was exemplary. The staff were always available and helpful to visitors, in my experience, and answered any questions honestly and fully.
Thank you for your kind words, we are so glad that you were happy with the care received. I will pass this on to staff as I know they will appreciate it.
Where to start?! My mum went into Charnwood House November 2023, I was very apprehensive about her moving into a care home but I know I couldn't look after her anymore. However, I can safely say that immediately mum was made to feel at home, her photos were put on the wall on the same day as she moved in, and I was assured they would look after mum for me. This is exactly what they did do. So very kind and caring and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. I was welcomed in to be part of the Charnwood family. Amazing staff, from management to care workers so supportive in all aspects even after mum passed away. Thank you.
Thank you for your compliment, I am so glad we all made a difference to you and your mum. It was such an honour to be able to look after mum and to support you through her time with us. I will pass your kind words onto the staff as I know they will appreciate reading them.
My nan was a resident at Charnwood House for 15 months and during her time there she was well-looked after and cared for, the staff were wonderful with her making sure her needs were catered for and she was never alone during the day. She was encouraged to engage with the activities and made lots of lovely friends whilst she was there. Several of the carers went above and beyond their job role and duties to ensure that the last week of my nan's life she was well attended to and for that our family will always be grateful.
We are very happy with our experience of Charnwood House. My dad was well looked after, showered every day, shave every other day, clothes changed every day. My dad enjoyed the meals and looked well fed. The staff are all so friendly and caring. The room well equipped and clean. A big thank you to all at Charnwood House. Looking forward to using Charnwood House in the near future.
