Mother is very happy with the home. She is content with her room. I find the staff very caring and Mother relates with the carers. All the staff, from managers to carers, should all take credit in looking after Mother. They do a lot of exercise and entertaining. Thank you for all your efforts.
The staff throughout are happy, pleasant, welcoming and helpful. They do a fantastic job caring, supporting, engaging and entertaining with all their clients. They are all very well looked after in an amazing large, clean environment. The food is good, and their needs are met during the hot weather with lots of cold top-ups, drinks, ice, etc. The activities meet the needs of each individual clean, with something to engage in most days. Excellent throughout. So glad we chose Charnwood House for our mum. Thank you.
Mum has been in Charnwood House Care Home for a year now, took her a while to settle in but she is doing great. Staff are very good. Mum is a lot happier now, seeing her with staff laughing and joking is great. Charnwood House is a very nice place, everyone is looked after really well.
It is a pleasure having your mum here at Charnwood. It is great to hear the laughter in the home as it helps others and certainly brings up the spirits of other residents and staff.
My mum-in-law has lived at Charnwood House since February 2019. It was one of the hardest decisions we have ever made and we did not find those first few months easy. The staff however helped us all to feel confident in the care and support she was receiving. Whenever we had a query or concern staff were (and still are) happy to discuss it with us. They also communicate with us if there is information to pass on or my MIL is unwell. My mum in law is treated with dignity and respect. We have no hesitation in recommending Charnwood.
Charnwood House Care Home is clean, bright and airy but, more importantly, the staff are incredibly kind and patient. I know my mum is receiving good care in terms of activities, personal care and food etc. but I also see the kindness and dignity afforded to her by all staff I have encountered. Living overseas, this is a great comfort to me.
Staff are in appreciation of the kind comments. It is a pleasure to be recognised for the hard work the team do to support the home.
My husband was diagnosed with server Alzheimer's and was admitted to Charnwood in July 2019. He is very happy there. The staff (kitchen, cleaners, charges, management) are always ready to talk.
The atmosphere in the home is welcoming and pleasant. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It makes our visits pleasant and helps us to cope with the difficulty of dementia.
It is a pleasure to care for your dad and many thanks for your kind review.
Dad moved into Charnwood House Care Home nine months ago, it was the hardest but best decision we have made. He is so happy here having people around him all day long, people who are bright, sunny and caring, who try to stimulate and encourage Dad with things he used to enjoy, singing and playing the mouth organ (which he hadn't wanted to do for some considerable time) and to join in with group activities. Due to the pandemic, things are far more difficult for the staff with restricted visiting whilst keeping residents safe and protected but, without exception, they have been totally professional. They are helpful to us as a family, trying to accommodate our wishes to see Dad but keeping within the safeguarding rules. As a family, we really couldn't hope for anything better for Dad and can't recommend Charnwood highly enough.
Thank you for your review. It is so nice to hear the staff are doing well and it will certainly boost their morale. Your dad has given us all a lot of pleasure.
My mum has just been given a place at Charnwood House Care Home and I have been so impressed with the way Mum has been looked after and has been treated. Also, the cleanliness of the home and Mum is amazing, not to mention the amazing, friendly staff I have encountered in a really hard time for our family. Thank you.
My father has been in Charnwood House Care Home since January and I haven't seen him look so well for a long time. All the staff and management are wonderful people doing an amazing job.
Charnwood House Care Home is a wonderful, clean, friendly home. My father-in-law has really settled in well with the help of your wonderful staff. He's gained weight, clean and happy. Management always has time for you and all staff always have a smile on their face. I can't think of a better place for him to see out his days. I sleep easy knowing he is safe and cared for. Thank you.
Thanks.
Thank you for your kind comments, it was a pleasure having your mum stay with us and look forward to looking after her in the future.
My auntie has received very professional and personal care throughout her time at Charnwood. My view is that generally the care home can be considered a centre of excellence. End of life care was exceptional and very caring for my aunt plus relatives.
Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure to have your auntie with us, as she was a well-known character throughout the unit and will be sadly missed by us.
This has been a very difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic, but Charnwood House has dealt with the situation admirably. All management and staff have been extremely caring and thoughtful, keeping us informed of our loved ones under these very distressing times. Although the residents have had to be kept in isolation for most of the time, carers have tried to keep them stimulated as much as possible, without the usual joint activities. Charnwood House runs like a well-oiled machine and I would recommend it to anyone.
My mother died in this care home and I can't believe how uncaring the home was towards my mother's death. They didn't even send a with sympathy card to my family, proving they're only interested in your money, I mean how much would a card have cost them. Once gone forgotten.
Please accept our sincere apologies for this oversight. It is always our intention to contact relatives and send a condolence card, but this was clearly an oversight. Our Chaplain usually helps us with this but, during this pandemic, we have had fewer colleagues available in the home. We are...
I am hugely grateful to all the staff at Charnwood House for supporting me and my mum with her move to Charnwood. The management and office staff have been kind, efficient and understanding in meeting our needs. Throughout the lockdown period, all staff have been thoughtful, caring and supportive to my mum and my family. The carers at Charnwood are wonderful and have supported my mum so brilliantly. My mum has made a fantastic bond with her second family - thank you.
Thank you for your kind comments. We are delighted that you are happy with the staff team and that you feel we have supported your mum so brilliantly.
My aunt was truly fortunate to reside at Charnwood for the last years of her life. She was immediately welcomed by the staff who she became very fond of. We were surprised that over a period of time her conversation became better and she was more engaged with everything that was going on, despite her dementia. This was down to the care, good food and companionship at Charnwood House. We were pleased to find that she was accompanied to hospital by a member of staff who also stayed with her until she was admitted. Looking back, the family are pleased that she was able to get into Charnwood House. Many thanks to all the staff involved in her care and the team on 'Beech'.
My mum has been in Charnwood House for 5 years. She was very, very poorly when she arrived but staff supported her wonderfully and nurtured her back to good physical health. We are so happy with all the activities Mum had the opportunity to take part in every week. She particularly enjoyed the singing group but also completed artwork in the craft group and seemed to have a lot of fun with the staff and the other residents. My mum was a Welsh dragon for sure, yet the staff accepted her for who she was and worked sensitively to meet her needs and keep her happy. My family are full of gratitude to the staff for the love and laughter which my mum was surrounded by during the precious last years of her life.
The carers are experienced and understand well the needs of the individual residents and go above and beyond to make their lives content and settled emotionally.
The standard of care is amazing. The staff have a friendly approach to the residents and having worked in the care industry I know how much patience you need when working with dementia patients.
The meals on offer are very good, and you can tell it is good quality food. The meals look delicious.
