Over all time Charnwood House has 100 reviews.
My mother has been a resident for 3 years, she is well cared for, enjoys the food and seems content in her own little world. All the staff are very caring, although her profound deafness makes communication a challenge. The knowledge that Charnwood House really care for our mother is a huge relief to my sister and myself, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others in the same situation.
My mother entered Charnwood House MHA on 1st December 2016. The introduction process was gentle and caring and friendly and I found this encouraging in establishing trust and reassurance about my mother's care. The caring attitudes of the staff have been consistent from all shifts of workers. My mother has gained a little weight with the regular good food and the medical care when needed has been professional and beneficial. There is no problem if her family wants to take her out for a while and we can visit at any time. My wife and I have benefited from knowing my mother has 24/7 care and that Charnwood will deal with any problems. Professional services like doctor, nurse, hairdresser etc. are built into the management of the home and activities are available and residents are encouraged to participate. The Christian ethos is important to my mother and ourselves and this increases our trust and confidence in Charnwood. The local Catholic Deacon is readily accepted into Charnwood to give her Holy Communion and prayer.
Mum has settled in well and seems very happy with her own room and the care home in general. She is eating and drinking much better now and has made friends with the residents on her unit.
It is the peace of mind knowing that my mother in law has someone there 24 hours of the day. She has her own space but company if needed. The staff I have met are lovely, caring and fun - so you are left feeling she is taken care of.
The welcome received was warm and friendly. The staff immediately recognised mum's needs and looked after her accordingly nothing is too much trouble, staff are jolly and caring. I never thought I would feel so confident in entrusting mum's care to others. Thank you all. Lovely home, clean and great food.
Staff and care for mum has been excellent.
My mother became a resident at Charnwood House early August 2012. She had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2008. My father had given her loving care until that task became too much for him.
Mum settled quickly into life at Charnwood, a very welcoming environment. Dad visited her at least 6 days a week, his health permitting. He was welcomed into the "Charnwood family", regularly being included in afternoon refreshments and he and mum had their Christmas dinner together for each of the years that mum was there.
Mum participated in the regular activities as her health permitted.
As her illness took its toll and mum became ever more frail, the staff showed her a love and care that was as close as possible to that which would have been provided by her own family.
When visiting mum, all the members of our family received the same warm welcome.
After mum passed away in early 2017, the staff continued to support our family in their grief.
I have no other experience of care homes, but I find it hard to imagine a better one than Charnwood.
My mother, a resident of Charnwood House for more than 5 years, was given exceptional care. The whole staff from house manager to handymen were the most kind, considerate and caring people. The care also extended to us as a family particularly to my father who was a frequent visitor. I cannot speak too highly about Charnwood House and can find little fault with the love and care given. Thank you.
My husband has been in Charnwood House for 2 and a half years and in all that time he has had the most wonderful kindness, dignity and care I could ever ask for. His care is second to none. The care staff are always vigilant to his welfare, never ever with less than gentleness and giving him the dignity and care I do admire. I am always welcomed in the home and I have always considered Charnwood House as a second home!
Mum has been a resident at Charnwood House since December 2016. She is settled and happy. Her 90th birthday was in February and everyone could not have done more to make it a very special day. All the staff are supportive, helpful and friendly to residents and visitors. We are so pleased we chose Charnwood House for our mum. It is a "happy" home.
My mother-in-law received outstanding care from the staff of Charnwood House who showed such care and concern for her. The building itself is well-maintained and has recently been re-furbished. Each resident's room is ensuite and personal possessions are welcomed.
The home is kept beautiful.
All the staff, from top to bottom are excellent.
My wife's care is second to none.
I have always found the staff willing to help and are very approachable. The care that they have given my dad is second to none. The difference in him since he arrived is apparent for all to see and I have no concerns with him at all. The activities that they provide really helps with his care and well being.
This home is like a 5 star hotel. Pleasant surroundings. Staff are friendly and pleasant.
I am very pleased with the level of care that mum has received at Charnwood. Mum is far happier and more relaxed than she has been in several months. The staff are always helpful and friendly and the food, cleanliness etc are excellent.
Moving to a dementia care facility was potentially a very stressful occasion but the care provided was good that it felt very much like returning home. Mum has been treated like a member of a very large and loving family.
The carers all show a credible degree of empathy and understanding and appreciate that the more activities involving residents are done, it shows a positive set of results in residents care.
I always look forward to my visits. It's great to see my mum happy and contented and it's also nice to chat with all the other residents too. The management team make everything work like clockwork. The home is so welcoming and organised. The carers are brilliant, very friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. They are a lovely happy group of ladies. I really appreciate all that hard work. When it come to activities, the staff are great, it's so nice to see everyone enjoying themselves. I would not hesitate to recommend 'Charnwood House' and have done so already.
My mum went into Charnwood Care Home at the beginning of April 2016. From the day she arrived the care, support, kindness and just being there for her has been excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. All the staff take time with all the residents, and are always very kind with every need and very supportive.
