Mum is safe and happy and very well cared for and I feel very lucky that we found Charnwood. Activities are inclusive and well thought through, providing stimulation in a fun way. Staff and management are solution focussed if any problems occur. Mum does have her 'favourites' but all the staff are caring and always make us welcome. Keep up the good work.
At Charnwood House, my dad was a valued and respected member of the Charnwood family. He was always treated with compassion, care and kindness. His Dementia approached in a knowledgeable and skilful way. My dad always received excellent continuity of care from people who formed a positive relationship with both him and our family. We are so glad we found Charnwood House.
Thank you for your review; I will pass these on to the staff team.
The environment at Charnwood House is inclusive and approachable. Certain of the care staff have a very personable and caring nature. They take the time to treat residents with compassion and dignity. The home appears to be well run and managed with a good range of activities available. I would make a positive recommendation based on the service and staff.
His room is bright and homely and the staff show him kindness and respect. Family are always welcomed by the staff in Sycamore unit.
My wife, who has advanced dementia/Alzheimer's, has been a resident at Charnwood for nearly eighteen months following 4 years when I cared for her at home. I had known Charnwood for some years and had formed a good opinion of the care provided for its resident. I have been very satisfied with my wife's care and the sympathetic, cheerful and skilled approach of the staff. My views are supported by my family and the friends who regularly visit my wife and experience the life and work of the home.
I can not thank Charnwood House enough for the excellent standard of care.
Thank you for your review; this feedback is excellent and I will pass this onto the staff team.
It is a huge act of trust. To entrust strangers with the responsibility of our father's well-being, not just physically but also his mental health was not done lightly.
Dementia is a cruel disease and the carers need to have utmost patience, have lots of energy and show great care and attention and treat the residents with dignity and respect. I feel the vast majority of the carers fill this criteria extremely well. Management work hard to ensure the smooth running of Charnwood and work tirelessly. I can go back to Australia knowing my father is in safe hands and that most people who work there genuinely seem to like him, they are replacement family. I cannot overstate how good a job they all do. Well done!
Thank you for your great feedback to enable us to inform staff of positive comments and support relatives' loved ones at Charnwood.
I have generally found the quality of care for Mum to be of the highest standard. The staff are kind to her and there for me. The building is inviting and new furniture was installed everywhere after Mum arrived, including new carpets and decoration. A new garden was created where we were able to take Mum. Easy wheelchair access everywhere. All ground floor.
Excellent help and care is given to my partner although he is encouraged to be as independent as possible too. Tidiness and care of his personal needs is considered. The food provided is well cooked and served and adequate. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The group activities are varied and imaginative and well resourced - there is encouragement dialogue and fun in the way they are presented by the staff involved. Everyone is equally kind and welcoming to visitors too.
It is great to have this positive feedback, I have passed this on to our staff.
Looking for a home that isn’t just a care facility but a real home is hard but the first contact with Charnwood House reassured us that he would be in good hands. It’s 10 months since he became a resident there. He has a lovely clean bright room, good food, is cared for and I do mean cared for. These aren’t just people who carry out tasks...they do care and it shows. Dad looks smart when we visit, he’s clean and well dressed.
The staff go the extra mile to make sure all the residents are cared for. The music therapy sessions are an inspirational part of life at Charnwood.
It’s a huge relief to us to see him so well cared for and respected.
Dad moved here 3 months ago and was completely settled and part of the 'Charnwood family' from the first week. The staff have been really helpful to Dad and the family making sure all of Dad's needs are met. He is assisted to shower but is left to shave himself - a wet shave is very important. He has independence in a secure, safe, loving, caring environment. So important at this stage of life.
She loved the music therapy and the food!
The gardens are a delight, there are gazebos and plenty of places to sit.
The staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. They are always welcoming and cheery and ready to help with any concerns. I would not hesitate to recommend.
Well managed and therefore a happy environment.
Good company.
The staff are always pleasant and helpful.
One of the best.
The care home is very well run and the carers are very committed to the job. Any problems that have been mentioned have always been addressed and sorted. All the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Very impressed with the continued forward thinking of involving residents and family together in activities. August was the first Art Exhibition for residents and family and friends. So good to see everyone involved, especially residents and children. They are always trying new activities and it is so lovely to see residents learn new skills as well as being encouraged to remember and retain those they have already.
A loving, caring home with carers going above and beyond what is expected of them.
We, the family, consider this care home to be the top of the premier league of homes. The staff are so kind and caring and also to the visitors. We would recommend this care home to everybody.
We have been very impressed with the care provided to Mum during her respite period here at Charnwood. All the staff have been kind, considerate and very caring at all times.
Charnwood is an outstanding care home. From the moment I was shown around to the time my mum died, all of the staff were amazing. The level of care, dignity and respect shown to my mum was incredible. Her children and grandchildren were made to feel part of the Charnwood family always welcome. Mum had fun, laughed and was comforted in times of distress. A brilliant team of people, I cannot thank you enough.
During his stay here the staff made him very welcome and he quickly settled in.
He often tells us how much he likes it at Charnwood House and hopes to stay here.
All the staff are very caring and the facilities spotlessly clean.
