I visited my aunt to celebrate her birthday with the rest of the family. She looked lovely. The staff had done her hair beautifully and put makeup on her. We had dinner for eight people in an upstairs dining room. Beautiful three-course dinner with wine etc. The staff couldn't have been more attentive. They even made a birthday cake with candles and sang to her. We really could have been at our own home.
Thank you so much for your review. It sounds like you had a wonderful day, and we really hope your aunt enjoyed her celebration too! Best wishes.
This review concerns the excellent facility and being able to enjoy lunch with our mother. The food and service was excellent and the sense of well-being cannot be underestimated. Thank you to her care team.
My sister has been a resident at Lammas House now for three and a half years. She has always received excellent care and the home is happy and welcoming. Her needs have increased greatly since she arrived and the staff have worked hard to provide her with the appropriate care.
The staff are extremely friendly and nothing was too much for them. I was very impressed by the staff and how the home was run. Very efficient and clean. The food by the chefs was excellent. My mother really enjoyed her time here.
Our mum died this January after two and a half years at Lammas House. I am placing this review to acknowledge the outstanding care that the team provided to Mum during that time. I feel they cherished her as we did. It is hard to pick out particular aspects as everything was so good but her key workers were so respectful but also had such fun with her - she loved to laugh about life. The chef and team made beautiful meals every day and as she became less able to manage a regular diet, they adapted her meals so that they were still tasty and appealing. The activities coordinator was so friendly, enthusiastic and sensitive and always found ways to involve Mum in what was going on. The night staff who we didn’t meet so often were so kind to her. Lammas House staff helped us so much through Mum’s last days - we will never forget their kindness.
My Mum was cared for by the wonderful staff at Lammas House between June 2020 up until her passing in January this year. I cannot praise the home enough for the level of service and attention they provided. She was always dressed well and had her hair done regularly by the hairdresser. The home accommodated her needs as they changed and ensured she received appropriate nutrition. The level of catering is out of this world. There were always activities and the home has an atmosphere more like a family home. Independence is also respected for those who prefer to be in their rooms rather than communal areas. I would be very happy to chat to anyone about our experience also.
Thank you team.
My father was in for respite for the month of January at Lammas House and the staff and facility was excellent. The care staff could not do enough for my father and all his needs were catered for. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they showed to my father.
We visited Lammas House to visit my aunt. She was so well-cared for, stimulated and cherished! One of the staff took a photo on their tablet, and the director kindly sent it to us. No wonder it's so highly rated.
We were so pleased to find a place for mum at Lammas House. As soon as we walked in, having been to many others homes, it felt right. We were not disappointed and mum was comfortable and cared for in the final months of her life.
We are particularly grateful for the help and support provided to both mum, and to ourselves, during her final days. We knew she could not have been in a better place.
The Manager and staff did all they could to enable access and care within the covid restrictions, and we are able to be with our Mum and care for her for those last few days and nights.
"A kindness is remembered long after is it done" Thank you to all from the Lee family.
My mum has been a resident at Lammas House for the past 20 months and I am so grateful for everything the staff do, I can’t praise them enough. I would recommend Lammas House unreservedly. I know my mum is safe, well fed, entertained and receiving the best care possible.
Lammas House is providing excellent and kind care for my Grandma. Despite all the restrictions imposed by Covid staff have done their best to help her get to know her new Great Granddaughter through laminating and increasing the size of photos, zoom chats and eventually meeting in person. I am very grateful for the staff's kindness and care.
When my mother arrived at Lammas House in December she was confused and physically unwell. Since then with the help of staff she has made a full recovery. The staff are a cheerful and approachable group who are responsive to resident needs and are quick and efficient in dealing with any family queries. The home is warm and comfortable and provides a very high standard of food. My mother has been welcomed into the ‘Lammas Family’ and has settled in well. A WhatsApp and Facebook group to keeps relatives up to date with photos of the varying activities and events. I am very happy to have chosen Lammas House and would like to thank the manager and her team.
Best wishes, Fae
Having been thrust into the world of elderly care facilities by the unprecedented events of the year just gone, my mum (and her family) could not have been more fortunate than to find Lammas House and its wonderful staff. Mum had a fall at the start of the pandemic and was propelled uncontrollably into the medical system, staying briefly at two hospitals, coming out with Covid-19 (mild symptoms thankfully) into a NHS nursing home. A search for local care homes revealed Lammas House as the clear favourite on paper and, though at capacity at that time, the staff were very encouraging and sympathetic. After a short wait, we were told there was space for Mum and with minimum beaurocracy, she moved in. Despite the terrible conditions and constraints of the pandemic, the staff have remained resilient and cheerful, trying their best to mitigate the appalling impact on the residents and families, and witnessing their creativity and ingenuity with our loved ones has been a joy.
Best wishes,
Fae
It was so comforting to know that my mother's daytime and nighttime care needs were being fulfilled and she was in a safe and caring environment.
Best wishes,
Fae
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Lammas House since June 2020 and, despite the challenging times, the staff could not have done more for her. The Lammas House staff are wonderful and I believe truly care for their residents as if they were family. My mother-in-law is very stimulated by all the group activities and has thrived in the communal atmosphere. She looks well cared for and very well fed by the accommodating catering staff. She is always dressed nicely and often the staff will do the full hairdressing service! My mother-in-law remains healthy and cheery and I am in no doubt that this is due to her life at Lammas. I would heartily recommend Lammas to anyone considering life in a residential home and their families should be reassured by knowing they are well cared for.
Mum says of Lammas House, 'it's like being in a 5 star hotel, food wonderful, I sleep well (and now so do I) and the staff, well nothing is too much trouble', I found this immensely reassuring. The home has a lovely family atmosphere.
The staff kept us up to date with a weekly newsletter via email, Mum loved the Mediterranean Cruise.
The dedication, commitment and care by the manager cascades to her wonderful, kind and compassionate staff.
The whole team is outstanding with their combined efforts to make up for the absence of family with zoom calls, facetime etc. so lovely to see Mum
And visiting Mum through the window and it the garden, simply wonderful!
Unfortunately Mum passed away in early February. Thank you to all of the staff from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback for Lammas and I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mum. I am sure the team will miss her greatly - your feedback is so appreciated by them. Best wishes, Fae.
We are impressed with the care and concern of all the staff shown towards the residents.
My mother-in-law has settled very well and is happy, despite her strong, independent personality, thanks to the professionalism of the staff.
I have visited the resident on an approximately monthly basis. Each time I have found him happy and comfortable. He is happy with his accommodation and looks forward to his meals, the lovely smells of which make my own mouth water! The staff is very attentive and he has made warm relationships with them. He is able to choose which activities attract him and his time to quietly indulge in his love of reading is respected. It is comforting for his family to know that first-class attention is at hand when he needs that extra care.
Thank you so much for a lovely review of our home and team. Best wishes, Fae.
My mother has been at Lammas House for just over 2 years. She is happy and settled there and the care provided is outstanding. The home has a warm and friendly atmosphere and we all feel part of the Lammas family. The kindness, dedication and professionalism of the staff is second to none and we have complete confidence in the care my mother receives.
