When dad first moved to the home, the staff were great. The manager came to see him and said "If there's anything you need or have concerns, tell staff to ask for me. You don't need to worry!" Famous last words! Dad was taken to hospital, Hill Top Lodge now says can't take him back because of his outbursts!
Dad has always been an independent man, being stuck in a wheelchair with dementia, upsets him. He doesn't want to be in a care home but has no choice as he's not safe enough at home. The Manager has refused Dad's return. I think this is appalling! Do they not know that dementia patients can show signs of anger etc? I don't think it's fair to add more stress to dad and our family, not knowing where he will go next, stuck in hospital. No wonder the NHS is on its knees, my dad is now occupying a bed when beds are needed. Hill Top should work with the NHS, not against them. The nursing staff are friendly, just need more dementia care training!

My Mom has been in a few homes, but I must say this is by far the best. It's like family here, we all talk to each other so friendly. Anything you're not sure of they help, best they can do. The staff are so helpful. Activities are very good, always something going on. I would not like my Mom to be

First-class care for Mom and also me. Nothing is too much trouble. Mom always says "They look after me so well." I couldn't wish for more. I know Mom is so well cared for and that gives me peace of mind. All the staff are approachable and you can tell it's more than a job - they care. I wouldn't hesitate

Myself and my family have never had any issues with the care home since my gran arrived. The staff are all very friendly, helpful, and attentive to the residents. Whenever we have needed assistance they have always been willing to help.
The home is always clean and we always see cleaning being done,
even while visitors are there. The range of activities for the residents is great, there is plenty of variety. My gran always looks happy when she participates and has settled in very well.

I am delighted with the service provided by the manager and his team. They are caring, attentive, and patient under difficult circumstances. My mum had to go into care as she has vascular dementia. It was a heartbreaking decision for the family. The staff there are very caring and friendly. She has settled in even though she says she doesn't like it there and doesn't want to be there. She is very confused about the dementia. It is a horrible
disease. She joins in with the activities and looks very happy in the photos that are posted in the home. It helps the family to know that our mum is being looked after well. I can't praise the staff highly enough for the great work that they are doing.

My mom was a resident until she went into hospital, then this care home refused to accept my mom back which meant finding a new home for her. My mom is dying and needs nursing care which this home clearly knew from day one so because she had a couple of ambulances and was taken to hospital because she
couldn't breathe, which she does have terminal lung cancer and COPD. This home refused to have her back which caused my mom so much upset as she had just really settled there and to have to find a new home. I wouldn't certainly put any of my family members in this place, always short staffed meals are freezing cold and when they get challenged on things by family members they don't like it, and that's another reason I think they didn't want my mom back as they were challenged over the stuff what was going missing out my mom's room.

Mum has lived at Hilltop Lodge for three years now. She was taken very ill at the beginning of the year and we were told by the hospital she would not survive. My father is very well-looked after by all of the staff.
I am kept informed at all times of his wellbeing and how he is getting on with his diet etc. and if he is feeling unwell.

I have found the home to be more than satisfactory. The staff are pleasant, helpful and caring. My father-in-law is happy to be here and enjoys the activities that are available on a day to day basis. The food is plentiful and well cooked and presented.
