My husband has frontotemporal dementia and has been a resident at Foxlands for over three and a half years. Over that time his care needs have been constantly changing. These have been met by a team of excellent carers. This has been a very difficult time for me also and all the staff have helped me
greatly to cope with what can best be described as a living bereavement. I would recommend Reminiscence to any family. A big thank you Foxlands.

Since moving in nearly a year ago, both Mum and I have been very happy and satisfied with the care she has received. All the staff, without exception, have been friendly, helpful and caring. She receives regular visits to her room to make sure she is ok and they all know her by name. She regularly partakes
in the activities which she enjoys and the food is good quality with a varied and nutritious menu.
The rooms as well as common areas and gardens are well-maintained and kept clean.

We happened to visit Mum on the morning of a visit by Kim who gives a concert of wartime and contemporary songs backed by his own pre-recorded backing tracks. Mum was totally enthralled by the music, and Kim’s delivery, along with just the right amount of humour, were a delight to experience. Mum and
I even had a dance together - priceless. Mum has recently moved to the calmer Reminiscence wing of Foxland Grange and has settled in really well with the assistance of all of the supportive Care staff.

I have lived at Foxland Grange for one and a half years. The carers and medical staff are excellent. The personnel and medical care I have received are excellent. This is my home now - I have a lovely room with a lovely view from the windows. The activities provided are great, something for everybody.
The food, on the whole, is good, some days better than others, but a good choice. This is a nice place to call home.

My mother has been at Foxland Grange Care Home for a year, I am very pleased with the care and nursing she has received during her stay. All the staff are excellent, kind, caring and professional. I live overseas and it is a great comfort to me to know she is so well looked after. The staff have also
been very kind and supportive to me personally as well as to my mother.

We had a lovely lunch in the private dining room, the food was delicious and we were really looked after. All the staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Foxland Grange has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and everything is spotlessly clean. Mum's room is light, airy, spacious
and very comfortable.

We joined my mother-in-law for Boxing Day lunch, and what a lovely time we had! The food was delicious, and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Thank you, Foxland Grange, for a great Boxing Day. We all enjoyed it! (It was so nice to actually spend a long time with our mum and taste the menu).

We have just joined Mom for lunch in the private dining room as a family. This has been a lovely time for us all. The food and service were fantastic, and the ambience created by the pianist was delightful. Thank you to all the staff and residents that have made Mom feel so welcome and comfortable since
arriving.
Reply from Chelsea May, Manager at Foxland GrangeHello Anne, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We are very proud of our dining facilities and food here at Foxland Grange, so it is wonderful to read they were enjoyed by your family. Kind Regards, Foxland Grange.

Unfortunately, very disappointed with the care given to my late mother. Having been assessed prior to moving into the home, there didn't seem to be appropriate thought in terms of her needs (very poor mobility and pain management).
Don't think it is the best type of facility if someone needs more than
very basic care.
Very nice setting, rooms of a good standard, and the food certainly looked nice but unfortunately, my mother was not in a position to enjoy this.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Personal Assistant at Foxland GrangePlease accept our condolences. Although we always conduct detailed assessments prior to any resident joining us, on rare occasions, there may be hidden underlying conditions that neither the individual or their family are aware of, that are not obvious or visible. Unfortunately in your mother’s case, her decline had started before she joined us and sadly we were unable to improve her condition, despite involving external agencies to help identify the reasons behind her health problems and build a management plan for her care as soon as we could. I’m very proud of the team at Foxland Grange who always work hard to support residents and their families. I understand this is a very upsetting time for you, and please know that if you have any questions or queries about your mother’s care and time with us, our door is always open

I've been visiting my father for four years and have not had a single complaint or concern about the level of care. A standard question at all visits is 'Are you happy, Dad?'. The response is always immediate and positive 'yes' and that's despite a severe lack of mental capacity on a day-to-day level.
An invaluable gauge for Foxland Grange.

I was unsure how my dad would like Foxland Grange, but on the first day he was welcomed like an old friend and immediately introduced to many of the staff, and settled in well. The meals are lovely, and the activities are good. The staff are friendly and attentive to my dad's needs. He is so comfortable
there that he is staying for another three months as he was only there initially for one month respite.

I came to Foxland Grange for respite care after having a total knee replacement. At first, I could do very little without assistance which was always available. Eventually, I started to gain confidence, but carers were always there. I eventually gained the confidence to do things myself, help was slowly
withdrawn. I appreciate all the assistance/care I have been given and say a big thank you to all the staff.

As always, we had a lovely visit today with friendly and helpful staff. The bistro area is bustling again and the coffee and pastries are delicious. It is always nice to be able to say hello to fellow residents, especially after the Covid period. Of course, with the Queen's Jubilee, there were plenty
of displays and activities planned.

My mother had come out of hospital after being in hospital for 4 weeks and was off her feet and feeling very low. We decided to try respite at Foxland and after 4 weeks there she had greatly improved in their care which is brilliant. So much so we have decided to keep mum there as she is very happy
to stay. Can’t praise the whole team enough.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.692)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.692) out of 10 for Foxland Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 35 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.692 for Foxland Grange is calculated as follows: ( (307 Excellents x 5) + (88 Goods x 4) + (20 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 415 Ratings = 4.692
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Foxland Grange is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 108 registered maximum number of service users is 21.6, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
