While Mum is generally happy living at Foxland Grange there have been a number of basic aspects of her care which have not been specific to her needs e.g not checking hearing aids, not cutting up her food in a way she can eat it, not helping her clean her nails, items of clothes being damaged etc.
However,
I am pleased to say that having highlighted these shortcomings to the staff and to management, there has been a vast improvement and the family are pleased with the changes.
Reply from Jazz Lalli, Reviews Team at Foxland GrangeThank you for your lovely comment. When residents first arrive at Foxland Grange it is a time for us to get to know their specific routines as well as a resident getting to know our routine. Foxland Team Members work hard to give residents the best outcome and it is lovely to hear Team Members and Management have fulfilled the right changes and will continue to work with residents and families to give the best quality of life.

The team are always very smiley and welcoming. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The bistro area is great for taking our family member for a drink. Lots of activities on all the time - sometimes we come and she bust with other residents doing an activity.
It's always nice knowing our family member
is well looked after.

The care given to my mom is fantastic. It's a pity you can't mention names but her regular care staff are ace. They always talk, smile, and interact with residents and family. They really work hard. The home has been recently decorated in parts which is good. Management has improved. there has been
a lot of changes so this has of course taken time. Food is sometimes Mom's concern but management are listening in meetings when this is discussed.

Dad has been a resident for over 3 years. The nursing staff are excellent and all the staff offer excellent support and welcome.
The facilities are well looked after with new furniture in communal areas.
The fees are expensive in comparison to other homes but I guess you get what you pay for!

there is a feeling of security every time I visit and that is important because it meals that loved ones are safe. Staff are always visible and approachable if help is required. The obvious personal care that is given is impressive - daily shaves, hair, nails, clean and cared for clothing, help with
nourishment and the efficient administration of medicines, all give the impression of a professional and caring management team. This in turn has led to peace of mind for the relatives and friends of residents who have shared their difficult days and months prior to admission.

My mom has been a resident for nearly 3 years. It was a difficult decision to make but the team at Foxlands made us all very welcome. The carers are very kind and caring. The management and senior team keep us regularly updated with any changes in Mom's health. The facilities here are amazing, the food
choices are excellent, entertainment programme is brilliant. We feel happy in the knowledge that Mom is safe, well looked after and local to us.

Very clean and always a friendly welcome.
A bistro near the entrance is perfect for a meet and greet and all the staff very helpful.
The manager is very prompt at helping over any issues and addresses the situations with courtesy and individual attention.
The activities are varied and well-conducted.
The
weekly menu is well-produced and the chefs serve it up attractively and hot. Often a failure point in many care homes.
Like all residential senior living, the call system for attention can be challenging for both residents and care staff and is probably an issue for some.
Parking is sometimes a bit of a squeeze!
Overall a pleasant and relaxing friendly place to be.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Foxland GrangeThank you for taking your time to submit your review – it was lovely to read your kind words, particularly about the team and dining experience. We understand that parking can sometimes be a squeeze, especially in the afternoon (but is often much quieter in the mornings) – if you’re struggling to park, please do pop in and the concierge and team will do their best to help. In regards to the call buzzer system, you’ll be pleased to hear that this is being worked upon currently to enable a smoother process. Thank you again for your feedback, and please do let us know if you have any comments or suggestions at any time and we’ll be happy to help.

My mother stayed at Foxland Grange for 4 weeks over the Christmas period. It was such a positive experience for her, and we’ve all been impressed with the standard of care given. Without fail, the staff Mum (and I) came into contact with were so friendly, cheerful and kind and I witnessed this high
standard towards other residents on each of my visits.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.648)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.648) out of 10 for Foxland Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 42 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.648 for Foxland Grange is calculated as follows: ( (347 Excellents x 5) + (117 Goods x 4) + (28 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 492 Ratings = 4.648
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Foxland Grange is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 108 registered maximum number of service users is 21.6, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
