My husband suffering from Parkinsons has only been at Foxlands for two weeks. The bedroom is very spacious and I was impressed that he could have all his own furniture. I am allowed to visit and stay as often and as long as I like between 8am - 8pm and can take our little dog in to visit him. This has helped him settle in. I am very satisfied with the care so far.

My mother went to Foxland Grange for four weeks' respite following a time in hospital with a fractured back and wrist. She had a lovely warm welcome when she arrived and the kindness and care she received were exemplary and made a real difference to her recovery. She left being much stronger, happier and more confident.

Foxland Grange made Dad's 100th birthday a really lovely and special occasion: there were birthday balloons in the entrance hall and party balloons in the Community Room; the home organised an interview with the Express & Star and a regimental band to come and play "Happy Birthday"; best of all, they laid on a superb birthday tea with a magnificent, and delicious, 100th birthday cake.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming to visitors and kind and competent in their dealings with residents.

I came to Foxland Grange because I needed respite after living by myself for a long period of time. Since my partner had died, I was at a very 'low ebb'. This home has performed a 'miracle' - I have put on weight, am more confident and believe in myself. The staff are very caring, loving and go the extra mile. I am still not ready to go out into the outside world but I am working towards it - a big thank you.

Arrangements for my dad's move to Sunrise were meticulously and sensitively met with care given not just to Dad but to my sister and myself. Sunrise has a lovely, homely feel as soon as you're welcomed at the door. Dad loves his beautiful room, enjoys the food and is so comfortable. At home, he had become quiet and withdrawn, but now he's back to his old self again, chatting and with a renewed sense of fun.
He loves the staff and is constantly singing their praises. He is never lonely and is stimulated by the varied activities provided throughout the week.
Dad has many health problems, and the nursing team are outstanding. They have worked so hard with his recovery, and we are kept up to date with any changes.

I'm constantly in contact with the staff here. They are amazing. Whatever they do, it is done passionately, and they always go the extra mile. It makes me so happy that Dad is enjoying his last years in such a special and caring place.

Sunrise has given my dad a new lease of life. Since becoming a resident after a long hospital stay, he has returned to being the Dad I know. We call it "the Sunrise effect"! He settled in straight away and has made new friends. Lovely, sunny rooms, great facilities, lots of stimulation, delicious food, has kept Dad out of the hospital. What a relief! It's evident that all staff, including management, has the resident's best interest at heart and epitomise the word "carers". No, it's not the cheapest, but definitely work it. I could not be happier with Sunrise and can't imagine Dad anywhere else.

Sunrise of Tettenhall appreciate moving into a care home can be an unsettling time. This is why we take the time to engage with family members and friends of the resident to make the process as smooth as possible, to get to know the resident on a personal level. We are pleased your dad has settled in well. Your kind words are appreciated and will be shared with the team.

My 4 week stay at Sunrise of Tettenhall Wilton was very enjoyable after my hip operation. The staff there are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent. I realise how much the helped me to recover so quickly. I would not have coped at home on my own. I will certainly recommend sunrise. Please thank everyone for their help.

Sunrise has made my aunt so welcome; they have worked so hard with her getting her back on the road to recovery. We had to move her from London to Wolverhampton, after losing her partner, of 62 years, so it's a very sad time.

Mum has been a resident in Sunrise since November 2014. She has been very well looked after and enjoys taking part in the varied activities arranged each day.
The staff have always been attentive to her needs, and if ever I have a concern or a request, they are on to it immediately. Weekly Zoom meetings with the manager have helped to keep us in the loop regarding quickly changing situations, this past year.

I cannot praise them enough for the care they have shown Mum for six years, and particularly during the pandemic.

Sunrise welcomed Mom and did everything possible to settle her in under the circumstances! Covid restrictions made it difficult for Mom and the family, but Sunrise staff were available for questions and support throughout. The weekly Zoom meetings are incredibly informative, and I always feel I can contact someone to speak to with any worries or concerns I may have. The manager of Sunrise is incredibly supportive and very “hands-on”. I feel she knows my mom well and understands our situation too! Also, I believe Sunrise is on the ball and has responded very quickly to any new Government initiatives regarding Covid and allowing the family to see their loved ones.

The staff are fantastic - efficient, caring and empathetic. The care of their residents is top priority. I can't recommend it highly enough. I saw my auntie under a gazebo outside. Her warmth and comfort were attended to, as well as social distancing. Checks on myself in relation to Covid-19 were completed and thorough at the front door. Staff were professional and friendly. They gave us space, with odd checks on my auntie. I did not go inside at all. Staff were welcoming whilst following govt guidelines. Good balance between friendly and professional.

From the outset, the staff have been friendly, informative and professional. They treat dad as an individual and show interest in his personal needs and what he likes and dislikes. The level of care shown by all staff at 'Sunrise of Tettenhall' over the last few weeks has been absolutely outstanding. Given the extra pressure of covid-19 and the need to keep all resident safe and well, I cannot fault the attention of the carers and their level of commitment. The leadership of the manager has played a great part (with her senior colleagues) in safely negotiating their exceptionally challenging times. Thank you Sunrise!

A very welcoming and warm greeting when back as a visitor following lockdown. Felt very safe, regarding infection risk. Excellent procedures in place, and a lovely gesture from the home when leaving after the visit by way of a little goodie bag and a lovely card thanking one for being patient. Residents and visitors could not ask for anything better. Well done and thank you to all.

I came here in January 2020 with my wife who has Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. I spent 4/5 days in hospital. On arrival, I had excellent attention, I found it difficult to cope with. Similar to going into HM Forces to get used to food. Now managing to cope by eating what I like and refusing what I don't like. But, I would recommend it. Very good care and attention. Likely to tell them as I find it.

Katy Anderson
Katy AndersonJob Title:Home Manager

I am a qualified nurse and also have a degree in mental health nursing. I have also completed an accredited leadership course with the Royal College of Nursing.

I have been with Care UK since 2023, and it’s an organisation with a strong ethos and values that are completely focused on delivering high-quality care.

As a home manager, excellent leadership is vital. The key is understanding each resident and each team member, and maintaining open, honest communication with everyone who comes to Hartwood. Working in care takes real commitment, and a leadership position needs a high level of focus and attention to detail, while still being warm and approachable. My door is always open to everyone.

I also believe in leading by example, so I always try to model excellent practice. It is important to fulfil the responsibility and trust placed in me, and I want to ensure every resident has a positive experience here.

I love to see people enjoy themselves. Socialising is so important to a person’s well-being. It’s wonderful to see the bistro filled with relatives and children visiting their loved ones. Life for many people starts again in a care home, and I have seen so many residents over the years find a fresh purpose, make friends and enjoy new hobbies. Being a home manager is a privilege and deeply rewarding. I honestly don’t see this as just a job; it’s a large part of my life, and my workplace is like a second home.

Outside of work, my son and I love going on wildlife walks in the woods. I also enjoy anything that involves animals. I have a large extended family too, so we socialise a lot, which I always look forward to.
