The staff are terrific and more importantly, we trust them. They are doing a terrific job, especially during lockdown.

Ganarew is a lovely home, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They go over and above what is expected of them. My mum has been there for over a year and she has had a stroke and has dementia. With COVID 19 the staff have been brilliant, they let us know how Mum is doing and we have been using Facetime so that puts our mind at ease and also it is lovely for Mum to see us. The management and staff have done a brilliant job with everything that is going on at this time and I am sincerely grateful.

All the staff seem to always be happy and very pleasantly professional in all their duties and tasks, with a great deal of patience with all the residents - making for a pleasant visiting environment, especially bearing in mind the condition of some of the residents. Also, all staff and management always appear to be most helpful.

We are always greeted and made welcome by the staff. My relative always looks clean and tidy. My relative always eats all the food which she is given, to which I feel is a very good standard. The staff are always very patient with my relative.

Overall Experience
My mum has been a resident now for five years and it is a testament to the care she receives how well she is doing. Alzheimer's is a progressive illness and how slowly she is declining I believe is in no small part because of the care she has. The care is so personal - when Mum could walk around they encouraged Mum to stay active and gave her little jobs to do like folding laundry, laying tables, etc. She used to tell me that she worked there and 'they have given me a lovely flat to live in'.

Fast forward five years and although Mum cannot walk any more, she is still happy and content, well-fed and not over-medicated. She is interactive with the staff whom she loves and trusts and they love her right back! I have witnessed the interaction between staff and other residents and the obvious affection that exists brings me to tears - it is so obvious that the staff here are all very special people and live for what they do. The manager and deputy manager, in particular, are second to none!

My dad has suffered from very poor health over the past couple of months and returned to Ganarew House after a stay in hospital. His care has been outstanding, he has been treated with dignity and looked after so well by everyone at Ganarew House.
We cannot thank everyone enough for their continued support and kindness for his care and the support they have given us as a family.

Particularly to my mum who spends her days visiting and spending time with dad whilst he is in your care. A huge thank you goes to every single staff member for their exceptional care and kindness.

My mother just recently became a resident at Ganarew House, she is very settled and appears happy each time I visit. The staff are very friendly and easy to approach. My mother's wellbeing has increased immensely, she looks well looked after, is always neat and tidy, ahs clean clothes and her nail and hair are kept clean. I can also see that she has put on weight.

Ganarew House continues to provide a home for my mother. Her needs are very extreme and yet somehow the wonderful caring staff and managers help her to get through every day.
I cannot thank all the staff enough for everything they do for my mother who is living in her own "hell" and "heaven" throughout different times each day.

Thank you so much for looking after our mum.
