An exceptional care home with a truly wonderful team from nurses, carers and office staff. Mum is well cared for and we feel she is safe and happy. Mum settled in really well after a few weeks and has got used to her routine. She enjoys her little trips out with staff member to a local tea room or garden centre.

My of aunt 98 years was admitted into Holmer Court on 28th april and was immediately made to comfortable. All the staff were kind and supportive and within two days was settled in and enjoying the attention and surroundings. The management helped deal with all her transfer and medical needs in an efficient manner which was a great relief and made me feel confident that she was being very well looked after. On visiting i was greeted my the the staff who are very friendly and helpful. My aunt is getting involved with the entertainment and enjoys her games of scrabble and watching tv with subtitles as she is without hearing. The staff are very patient and communicate with a dry wipe board. All in all she feels relaxed and well cared for.

My mum was looked after at Holmer Court for just over 3 years. I cannot rate it highly enough. I found all the staff to be kind and caring, often going above and beyond. Peace of mind in these circumstances cannot be underestimated. It is such a big decision to make when it comes to entrusting the care of your most loved ones. I never doubted the care that she was getting and you can't put a price on that.

There is a special place in my heart for Claire, the manager, who was always there when I needed her. She is incredibly professional and negotiated brilliantly on my behalf during difficult circumstances. It is very clear that all members of the team are valued highly by the management and there is a great emphasis on staff well-being and fun. I know how busy Claire is, and yet she would make time for me at the drop of a hat. She will never know how much her kindness meant to me. I will be eternally grateful.

Due to extenuating circumstances, my mum required emergency residential care. My husband's late mother had been wonderfully looked after by the lovely staff at Holmer Court and it was to them that we turned to in our hour of need. Fortunately they were able to help us and in less than 24 hours mum has been safely placed into their care. During this short space of time, I have been so impressed with their professionalism, warmth, kindness and a commitment to high standards of care that I am completely reassured that mum is in the best of hands.

My own mother was under the care of Holmer Court from Feb 2022 to Jan 2024 and you could not ask for a more conscientious, kind hearted and loving group of people to look after your loved one. So when it became necessary for my mother in law to have emergency care at very short notice I knew who to call. Fortunately they were able to accommodate the urgent request and within 24 hours my mother in law was safely ensconced into their care. From the evaluation of her needs to accommodating her, the staff at Holmer Court have again gone beyond the call of duty. She has been so warmly welcomed and put at ease that the whole transition has been so reassuring for the family that she is in a place of safety and kindness with staff who are committed to the very best care you will find anywhere.

Special thanks to the Receptionist and Deputy Manager for their kindness and guidance through this time sensitive process.

I cannot recommend Holmer Court highly enough as I was a resident there for only two months as I was so well looked by all the carers and nurses. I was VERY sad when I was moved to a different nursing home, so much so that I started having '' episodes' a bit like having hallucinations' all the carers were sad to see me move and two actually cried when told i was moving, so much so that one of the nurses, Sarah and I are friends and she visits me here . Also one of the other residents is happy to be friends and visit me here.

Mum has recently moved to Holmer Court. The reason we chose Holmer Court is its lovely homely feel. Mum has settled and adjusted well, I think this is mainly due to the excellent staff and the attention she receives. They go above and beyond, and you can see that they genuinely care, not only for the residents but for family members too which is lovely. I look forward to visiting Mum and it's nice to see her in such a happy, friendly environment where she has made new friends and can join in with new activities. In Mum's own words - "the ladies are nice to talk too and the staff are so kind"

Every time I have visited the staff have always been very friendly, cheery and helpful, as well as that they are accommodating and they are happy to find a quiet area for family visiting if needed which is lovely when visiting. In the dryer weather it is great to be able to sit outside in the garden and enjoy that area too.

My mother never wanted to be in a care home, but due to her needs which I could no longer provide, I was left with no alternative but to find a home for her. On the recommendation of a friend, whose own mother was at Holmer, I was fortunate to get a room over two years ago. From day one, the staff made my mother feel welcome and put her at ease. The care they provide not only to her but to all of the residents allows me to rest easy knowing that mum is in an environment where the utmost respect is given to her by all the staff (from the cooks, cleaners, carers, and managers).

The atmosphere on entering the home is always a positive one with encouragement given to all the elderly residents, when they need it, along with support to those of us who visit. A little humour and a smile goes a long way to make people feel better in all sorts of circumstances and Holmer Court staff do that naturally. For people needing assurances about care homes, then a visit to Holmer Court will provide just that.

I was very apprehensive about my Mum entering into a care home as I had looked after her at home for seven years however from the moment we walked in the atmosphere of love and care was clear. I can not praise the staff at Holmer enough there is a fantastic atmosphere and it is an incredibly happy and vibrant place to visit. Every single member of staff that I have encountered have been caring and knowledgeable and clearly exceptionally good at their job. My Mum was instantly put at ease and settled extremely quickly and was made to feel important and cared for from day one. Holmer Court has totally changed my impression of care homes and I now feel my Mum is in a safe nurturing environment which is so wonderful to see.

Mum came to Holmer Court after a series of hospital admissions, a number of incidents while in receipt of a care at home package and a worsening case of dementia. I was initially worried as to how she would react to being 'put in a home' but as time has passed my fears have proved to be groundless. The staff are caring and professional and my mum has made new friends and seems to be very happy.

When you hear people say “ I love my Job” I am actually one who “ really does love their job” I have been in the care industry for over 20 years and have met so many special people. Working in a residential care home is like being with my extended family and family is what we are all about. We are so lucky to build such special bonds with the people we care for, which extends to their families and friends. The compliment of a family member entrusting us to care for their loved ones is an absolute privilege and we honour this by striving to deliver the excellent care and support they so much deserve.

Becky Webber
Becky WebberJob Title:Wellbeing Coordinator Lead

Being a Wellbeing Lead is about the little things more than the big. The moments in the day when you feel you have made a difference in people’s lives. This might be a conversation where I am told: “You brighten up my day; you are a ray of sunshine; oh good, a pink lady; they are the ones who can do anything; I know I can tell you, as I trust you and you will help me; you know you are my favourite; I love you”.

It might just be a smile, a good morning where, for that moment, I am a face of comfort. I am a friend, and a family member different to each person but always a person they know and trust. A face of love and contentment that makes my job worthwhile.

The time and effort I put into getting to know each Resident individually so that I become familiar and loved.

Seeing a Resident do something unfamiliar to them, such as dance, sing, talk, walk, little milestones, rewards me for the input I put in.

It is not just a job; it is an extended family that includes the staff. They are my support bubble, and we are there for each other in the good times and bad. Building relationships with the families is also very rewarding, being the stopgap to be an ear for any concerns they may have and making them feel welcome into the home. We rally together in times of need and ultimately do our roles to achieve the best possible life for everyone.

Sharon MatthewsJob Title:Senior AdministratorJoined: 2016

I joined Holmer Court in 2016 as a part-time cook. After 12 months, with the support of our Manager Claire and my colleagues, I moved into a full-time role.

During that time, I got to know every resident personally, learning their likes, dislikes and unique personalities. The warmth and kindness at Holmer Court quickly made it feel like a second family.

I'm now, I'm a Senior Administrator, supporting multiple homes with administration, compliance and governance to help maintain the highest standards of care. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else. Being part of a team that provides such compassionate care to our residents makes me incredibly proud.
