Whitegates Care Home is rated "Outstanding" by the CQC (July 2023) and is situated in the pretty market town of Bromyard and provides friendly and professional care for older, frail residents with various care needs. Whitegates is proud of its reputation within the local community.

My mum has been with Whitegates for 5-6 years now and in that time I have seen excellent care and dignity given to my mum. They have spent time working with mum, with all her needs, as it can change with her dementia. I know when I'm not there that she is looked after and this is peace of mind for me
and my family. All the staff and management always make me feel welcome when I come to see mum. Staff keep me informed with what's going on and if there any changes with mums health.

Dad has been at Whitegates for four months and we have been so pleased with how he is settled. The care is tailored and respectful and truly reflects an awareness of the person dad used to be.
He is cared for and occupied with busy comings and goings which mean that he is, on the whole, content. Thank

Whitegates has provided excellent residential care to my father for over 6 years. He has a large room with a beautiful view. He has an en-suite lavatory and wash basin. He enjoys the use of the attractive and well-maintained garden. He has developed good relationships with all staff. All staff treat
him with dignity and provide appropriate care and support. Appropriate arrangements are made for the GP to visit and for attending hospital appointments when necessary and for regular visiting services such as chiropody and hairdressing. The food is wholesome and delicious. There is only one lift, so if this is out of action there are difficulties for residents and staff. Also, when the shower room on his floor is out of action he is unable to have a full wash. However, each of these is only a rare occurrence. Neither detracts from the overall standard of excellent care which Whitegates sets itself and achieves.

From the moment my mother moved into Whitegates 8 months ago, the whole family was welcomed into their "extended family" too. There is a real feeling of good care, apparent on entering. The atmosphere is one of joy, with all the happy smiling staff (Carers, Activity Coordinators, Housekeepers and Caterers)
who cannot do enough to help and encourage residents to lead active lives. In my mother's own words "it was the best decision I made to end my days at Whitegates, back in Bromyard after 69 years away"

Mum has been a resident since October 2015. During all this time and without exception, all staff at Whitegates Care Home have been patient, understanding, gentle, and kind to my mum. All the organised activities seemed to have enhanced & stimulated her mind and her general mobility. She seems to
be better able to hold a conversation now, compared to her situation for several years before she came to Whitegates.

Uncle is happy and always seems content. He is clean and well cared for with the constant attention he needs. We are always welcomed whatever time of day and offered refreshments when visiting.

My relative received good care and support during the month especially regarding a growing medical problem. Christmas was enjoyable, the staff making a big effort to make the day special for everyone. I always see Whitegates as a happy home with an efficient but relaxed atmosphere.

Staff are excellent, friendly, caring, respectful at all times, well trained eg. The high quality of end of life care our father received.
Building - self-funded, rooms are of a very good standard.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Whitegates Care Home has a very warm, friendly and homely atmosphere, as well as a beautiful garden, which can be enjoyed by the residents and their families.
There are lots of activities for the residents to enjoy, including musical performances and art

The wonderful staff at Whitegates have been taking great care of my Mother for a few years. Before she lived there she was living within the grips of early dementia and was lonely and depressed much of the time. Thankfully, after a difficult and extensive search we found Whitegates, the only home in
the area that we felt my Mother would be comfortable in. The General Manager works tremendously hard to make sure that Whitegates continues to run smoothly and has gathered an extremely professional team around her. The staff treat my Mother with patience, warmth and affection. It gives me great satisfaction in knowing that she is looked after by people who care about her and have her best interests at heart. Whitegates also have a wonderful entertainment team who do all that they can to keep residents occupied and interested. I would most certainly recommend Whitegates as a suitable home for loved ones.

A real 'home from home' with caring, smiling staff who appear to have a real empathy with the residents. There are activities every day that are designed to engage, stimulate and motivate the residents and are tailored to individual challenges and needs. Catering appears excellent with much flexibility
offered as to mealtimes and choices. Challenging behaviour is met with patience and kindness.

I am pleased that the staff always call the residents by name - even if they are just passing them in cooidors - very important that the residents are reminded who they are. I wish there was a better system for sorting the clothes of residents. many times my husband has someone elses clothes. Likewise
with hearing aids - both my husbands have been lost. I know he moves things around and it's not easy to keep tabs on what he does, but it makes for communication evenmore difficult.
