My son has been a resident here for five months. The new manager and staff have helped him to settle into his new home and worked with the company psychiatrist and other agencies in order to meet his specific needs in a caring and professional manner. The staff who I have seen working with my son are
caring and proactive and a healthy, relaxed atmosphere is evident.
My son has a close relationship with his family who live nearby. The management are open and willing to work with our family to enable my son to have a good quality of life. We all feel we can approach the management and staff to make suggestions and find solutions when necessary. It is early days for my son, but we are optimistic that he will be able to access more activities within and outside the home to ensure his growing confidence in doing this and have the good quality of life that he needs.

The atmosphere upon entering this home is a mixture of professional and homely, it is a pleasure to visit. All the staff are friendly, helpful, caring and attentive. The needs of the individual are catered for and it appears that they are allowed to do as much or as little as they would like. All
the food is cooked fresh on site and the choices are varied and healthy. It always feels like a happy and safe environment. Long may it continue.

My daughter has been a resident of Bethany Lodge Worcester for four years. In that time I have seen her quality of life improve. Prior to her moving to Bethany Lodge, she only wanted to stay in bed all day, very little motivation was given to her to encourage her to do otherwise. There are so many
activities she could partake in now, but often she refuses, but nevertheless Staff are constantly supporting and encouraging her. Gradually with the continued standard of care and support she will embrace new activities which she is offered. I realise that her condition is very complex. I am so grateful for the progress she has made under the care of all concerned at Bethany Lodge. I would also like to thank everyone for the support given to my partner and I on our regular visits to her.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
