Brambles Residential Care Home

My dad was looked after on the top floor of the Brambles Care home for 5 years. I say looked after - what I mean is that he was cared for and loved by the staff. Dad had vascular dementia and after having had a number of respite stays previous to him moving there we could not have wished for a better home for him. Not only was Dad cared for but when we visited we were made to feel very welcome too. Pre-Covid there were events and fetes put on for the residents and their families which made you feel like you were a part of a very big/extended family. We will be forever grateful to the staff, the residents and the other residents' families for being a part of our lives these past 5 years. Dad sadly passed away but we know we can call and have a chat to the staff who spent so much time with Dad and gain some comfort from knowing they knew him in his final years. I would have no hesitation on recommending this home for your loved ones based on our experience.

My grandmother has lived at Brambles Residential Care Home for over two years, moving from residential care to dementia care. As her needs have changed, the amazing team have adapted with her. While it has been sad to see her change as a person, it's been so reassuring that Brambles have been there - keeping her safe and happy. They sing with her and make her smile every day. The team also support the family as well - especially throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. They have been sending us newsletters, making knitted hearts and personalised Christmas cards, while also supporting my dad to visit in person, with Covid-secure visiting options. It's all so safe and while we never thought we would live through a pandemic when she moved in, we are so pleased she has been at the Brambles throughout. I would recommend Brambles to everyone - the staff are just amazing. They've worked tirelessly throughout 2020 - the home, the team and the activities are perfect.

Impossible to fault the standard of care. The staff are attentive, caring, helpful and always have a sunny disposition. The home communicates with relatives fully. The accommodation is comfortable, spacious and kept properly clean. The food is much enjoyed, varied and plentiful. Snacks and drinks are readily and regularly provided. Entertainment and outings are plentiful, albeit that my mother is not inclined to participate. The home has also managed the coronavirus outbreak extremely well. We have absolutely no complaints and would unhesitatingly recommend this care home.

My mother became a resident during the coronavirus outbreak, which made visiting impossible to start with. I kept in touch via phone calls with her and had reports from staff. The carers and admin staff have always been helpful and advised when items are needed. I have rated as best I can in the circumstances, having not yet been able to visit my mother inside the home or in her room.

Activities at home are good, but as Mum has hearing and poor close sight she finds it hard to join in. She could do with more hands-on help. Cannot fault any of the staff/carers. They have worked their socks off to keep everybody safe. I am so proud of them for what they coped with and put themselves out to make sure everyone is safe. Thank you.

My mother entered the care home in February 2020. Since then I have been extremely pleased with the care given to my mother. All staff have been polite and professional in their duties and have accommodated family visits efficiently during the virus pandemic. The facilities are clean, tidy and well organised. Well done!

The resident has always received excellent care for both her physical needs and leisure needs. The staff are caring and diligent, and communication between home and family is good. The resident always appears content and happy. Everything seems to be done to a fairly high standard.

Excellent care home. Clean, friendly with well-trained staff. Most importantly caring, empathetic and compassionate care to my Mother and us as a family. Able to relax knowing my Mum was cared for and safe.

When she first arrived the Brambles was a homely, pleasant environment. But in recent times has been redecorated and changed to look more clinical. Such a shame because the staff and standards of care are second to none but the environment now spoils the efforts of the staff. Also, the "new" furniture seems difficult to keep clean and is often dirty.

I find the staff helpful and informative and very friendly. They also provide for my mother's needs.

The care my mother receives at the Brambles is exemplary. I cannot thank the staff enough for the way they look after her.

My Mum 84 yrs old had to go into respite after an operation due to circumstances, it was all extremely last minute, but the staff couldn't do enough to help me to help my mum with her recovery. The lady who checked her in and found out her needs and requirements was amazing, her diligence and care enabled my mum to have a fantastic experience whilst in their care. From entering reception to all the fabulous staff who helped my mum so much in her time there, I can only offer my sincere thanks and lasting appreciation, anyone in their care will be much more than happy and their family members can rest in the knowledge that their family are in good hands.

Staying at the Brambles helped me to recover from my hip operation and there were three particular carers that went above what was expected. They have all given me help and care.

The staff were fantastic and so caring right to the end. The end of life care was superb (for Dad and us visitors).

Dad had superb care on the dementia floor. He was treated with the same love and care as we, as family, would give him. It felt as though we had extended our family. The home provided him with end of life care, he has treated with dignity and respect the whole time. The support given to us was amazing and made the whole experience of losing a parent feel special, loved and respectful. Thank you! You are amazing!

The staff are absolutely wonderful everyone of them. They really care it's not just a job to them, they go the extra mile each and every day for both residents and family. Nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere in the home is so relaxed, perfect in every way. My mum has only been at the home for just over a week and has already settled in wonderfully, thanks only to the staff and management at The Brambles. Thank you so much!!

During the summer months, one or two of the residents attend to the garden which is very colourful at this time.

What the Brambles gives me, as her son, is peace of mind knowing Mother is safe and secure, with 24-hour supervision, every day. Sanctuary Care are nationwide, so their standards are as important to them as they are to me. All the staff are extremely helpful and courteous regardless of the time of day.

I truly recommend the care home to many people.
