The care my dad received was the best I could have hoped for. Each and every member of staff showed care and love both to dad, myself and my stepmother.
They treated us like family and made life so easy for us.

God bless you all. xxx

Overall a good experience. Excellent care is given. I needed a lot of assistance and I was never made to feel it was too much trouble, staff were very kind and efficient, friendly and caring. They were busy all the time and at times I think more staff were needed.

Realising how ill I was relatives looked for local care homes who offer 24/7 cover. Research came up with the highly recommended home in which I now reside. Speedy work by the staff developed my ability to work unaided, partake in gentle exercises and improve my confidence. Hairdressing and chiropodists being close to hand for follow-up treatment has proved useful.

My father resides in the Brambles and is happy there, staff are friendly, helpful but rather in short supply! If I need to speak to a member of staff very often they are not around possibly due to the fact that they are stretched over 2 floors. It would be beneficial to both residents and families if staff were available and constant ie the same team on the same floor daily. I have to praise the staff but do feel they are too rushed so don't have the time to stop and 'chat' or even do the simple things like stirring the cups of tea they bring round to the residents! Although I only visit so I cannot be there at all times I never see the residents doing anything other than watching TV! Music might be nice - conversations and movement instead of sitting constantly.

Thanks for your review. I was initially confused by some of the comments as these have not been raised with us before, but having spoken to you I am really pleased that we have resolved any concerns and that your father is very happy here.

Fantastic place, clean, warm, friendly.

Very efficient staff, very caring.

Keep me informed of anything important relating to Mum. Mum is extremely happy, loves the staff, the food, the friendly care she receives. Lots of activities.

I have complete peace of mind with Mum in Brambles. She has no worries, nor do I.

Would recommend to anyone.

Mum has dementia so I have written it for her, but I have asked her all the questions.

The care home is of an extremely high standard. There is a good ratio of carers to residents and the staff are always very helpful and attentive.

There is a varied choice of food for each meal and drinks are available at any time throughout the day. There is a range of activities each day to stimulate the residents and often people are invited in to give talks, entertain and interact, local trips are arranged. The carers always keep us informed of any issues and when we visit, often tell us what has been happening and how our relative is doing. The rooms are comfortable, with ensuites and residents are encouraged to have their own belongings I.e photos, pictures, furniture to make it like home.

All staff are courteous, helpful and understanding. Many going 'above and beyond' to meet Mum's needs. I am included in decisions regarding Mum's care and staff are warm and friendly - particularly appreciated at a difficult time.

Very caring, knowledgeable staff. They took the time to get to know Mum. Care was very personal to her.
Mum could barely stand when she arrived six weeks ago. Now thanks to the hard work of the physio she is walking again.

Thank you all so much.

My stepmum moved into the Brambles in May 2017 approx. I find the manager and all the girls/lads very helpful. If I want anything doing for my stepmother I find them most helpful and they make you feel at home.

I found this a very pleasant experience, especially the ability to go out and about in the garden, as I am usually an outdoor person.
The care available was very comforting and extremely efficient.

I would especially mention the manager, who runs a good 'tight ship' keeping everything well under control and running very well.

My mum has been here four years and her care has always been very good. She is probably one of their more difficult residents as she refuses to join in. She complains to me but in conversation with her carers, is seems unfounded. They are working hard to get her out of her room and after all these years seem to have at last succeeded! Well done!

Andy has been a home manager with Sanctuary Care since 2012 and tells us what his role means to him.

I enjoy coming to work every day at the Brambles - the home has a lovely community feel and we all come here with a smile on our faces.

I have two parents in their 80s - one of them lives with dementia and one with kidney disease, so for me I'm always thinking about how healthcare needs to be both now and in the future, to continue to enrich the lives of our older generation.
