The residents were having a lovely time playing skittles today. They were clapping and joining in the fun.

When I visited before Christmas they were all playing cards which was also very good.

Since coming here we as a family have noticed how well she is settling into her surroundings. Her anxiety has become less, she has also come to terms with where she lives and seems to have a lot more peace of mind which as a family, was our main concern.

If and when we may have concerns ie healthwise we can approach the staff, with the knowledge that something will be done. We as a family find that comforting and thank you for that.

Mo mother came into the home after breaking her hip. The first month was difficult but staff encouraged her to get up and about. For 6 months she had a lovely time, making friends and really enjoying life again. Sadly she was diagnosed with aggressive cancer 4 weeks ago. The staff were brilliant in their care for these last weeks making her as comfortable as possible during the time. I couldn't fault them at all in the care they gave her.

My mother was extremely happy after her 2-week respite care whilst at Brambles Residential Care Home. She came home relaxed and happy with lots of good positive comments from her stay.
"The staff were very nice."
"They made sure I was comfortable."
"The food was very good."

As my mum has lost her sight now, Brambles Residential Care Home were very caring, understanding and helpful. Sadly not the experience she had a year ago staying elsewhere. Thank you :)

When mom first went into Brambles Residential Care Home she has been diagnosed with dementia 2 years before and had just left hospital after having pneumonia which she nearly died from so when she went into Brambles Residential Care Home she was still recovering and was still quite poorly but thanks to the staff she slowly got better and now 2 1/2 years later she is physically healthy and loves her life in Brambles. This year she celebrated her 90th birthday I can't thank the staff enough for putting the life back into mom and the sparkle back in her eyes.

My brother continues to be treated with kindness and care for his well-being. Support is good, in the context of staff who have many demands on their time. Of particular note is the increased level of activities undertaken for and with residents over the last few months, the good results of which are clear.

Very good emotional intelligence used by all staff with regard to the care of my mother. She is treated with respect.
Senior carers on the ball with regard to issues as they arise.

Perhaps a notebook in mothers room where staff and family can write to each other to aid communication?

My mother moved to Brambles in April 2015, she immediately felt at home and loved her new room, especially as she was able to add some of her own possessions.

Mom's care was excellent and the carers listened to her needs and spoke to her in a relaxed and compassionate way. She made friends with residents and go on with all staff. At times I felt there should be another carer on duty as staff seemed rushed in trying to complete all their duties.

The kindness and care I have and do receive are everything anyone in need could hope for. Every member of staff check to see if there is anything I need. I cannot find the right words to thank them or show how much it means that they really do care.

My father has recently gone through the process of beginning a permanent resident at The Brambles. During this harrowing time the manager has been exemplary in her support and compassion. The care staff have gone the extra mile in supporting my father with great compassion, empathy and humour. This level of care has also been extended to the rest of the family and we have been welcomed into The Brambles family with warmth. Communication and sharing of information has also been very good and I feel a valued partner in the care my father receives.

Andy has been a home manager with Sanctuary Care since 2012 and tells us what his role means to him.

I enjoy coming to work every day at the Brambles - the home has a lovely community feel and we all come here with a smile on our faces.

I have two parents in their 80s - one of them lives with dementia and one with kidney disease, so for me I'm always thinking about how healthcare needs to be both now and in the future, to continue to enrich the lives of our older generation.
