Since Mom has lived at Burcot Grange we’ve got our mom back, glamorous, make up on and ready for life! Thank you.

I have visited at least 10 nursing/care homes for over 20 years and Burcot Grange is far superior to all of them in many ways.

My mother is a relatively newcomer to Burcot Grange Care Home, having spent three weeks on respite care in March. She is gradually adapting to the fact that this is her permanent home and is settling in quite well. Everyone has been very kind to Mum and all the family and I am sure she will be very happy here.

Burcot has given my mum a new and enjoyable life. I have seen her smile more, dance, sing and enjoy making friends there. She is hugged and loved by the staff. They have supported Mum through the very sad passing of my dad recently, with such enormous compassion and care. She has thrived physically, mentally and socially. We are so grateful to all the staff. The staff cared for my dad to such a high standard, I simply cannot thank them enough. As a family, we made wonderful memories at Burcot with Dad- he loved to enjoy the beautiful gardens, the events, the happy hours, quizzes and outings- especially the trips on the wonderful narrow boat, despite being in a wheelchair. The homemade cakes and shortbread were a highlight for Dad! The meals are lovely, the dining room is elegant and it is a joy to be able to share meals with loved ones there. Birthdays are celebrated as well as special days such as mothers/fathers day and obviously Christmas and Easter. The staff without exception are outstanding.

The best compliment I can pay the team at Burcot Grange Care Home is that I always feel my mum is being well looked after and receives the care she requires. My sister and I are well looked after every time we visit and all staff members are polite, helpful and always on hand. The environment is ideally suited to my mum and we would never consider any other home.

The care for my mother has been excellent. During her time here she has been through many ups and downs and she has always been looked after with kindness and respect. All the staff are helpful and supportive both to Mum and to us, her family. We could not think of anywhere better for her to be cared for.

The home was very comfortable and our room and facilities, excellent. The food menu was very good with plenty of choices. The staff were all very attentive and kind and helpful. We had the misfortune to go down with covid immediately on arrival and had to be confined to our room for our stay ( caught from our son). We had hoped to exercise in the grounds but this proved impossible. It rained every day anyway.

However, recently, my mother has been unwell and I have seen a slightly different side to Burcot. The care, managed by an outstanding team leader, has been expertly and seamlessly stepped up, to meet her needs. They get the balance right between encouraging her to do things for herself, whilst always being there to support her when needed. I have seen carers go out of their way to offer her choice, for example, going down to the kitchen to get her favourite soup when she changed her mind about what she wanted. Nothing is too much trouble. I feel incredibly grateful that my mother is receiving such great care and happily her condition is now improving.

Our pupils have visited Burcot Grange twice weekly for many years, taking time to talk with residents and interact with staff, particularly the activities coordinator. We are always impressed with the level of care and respect shown to the residents, and how the staff are keen to educate younger people about living with dementia and the best way to interact with residents. It is very clear that the staff treat the residents as they would want their own family to be treated and it gives the house a warm and inviting feeling.

During my stay for two weeks respite at Burcot Grange, I experienced good, thoughtful care and attention in very attractive surroundings. Every attention was given for my comfort and it was a happy stay.

Mom's three-week respite stay was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Could not fault the home and all the staff were kind, caring and efficient. Would have no hesitation in using the home again for either another respite or permanent stay.

Throughout my visit, great care was taken to care for my needs.

The recent situation has been challenging for everyone but I have been impressed by the commitment to looking after residents' mental health as well as their physical wellbeing. We genuinely feel as if we are part of a big family and as a relative, I feel so well supported.

Whenever I visit my mother, she is in a very happy frame of mind, even though visits have had to be sporadic because of the pandemic. I credit the Burcot Grange team with this state of affairs. This is very reassuring for me - to know how well-cared-for she is as I have some distance away.

Brilliant staff and customer service. Extremely helpful, caring, knowledgeable and residents are happy, relaxed and entertained in a home-like setting. High-quality nutritional food and exceptional facilities.

Following hospital discharge with virtually no home care to being held back to being my old self and feeling, I have a life to live again and be an active member of society.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you to all concerned. I will return for further respite later in the year.
