Burcot Grange Care Home

The grand old house, real log fires and happy atmosphere, welcoming yet warm and homely with caring staff, a good variety of public and personal rooms with views. Activities where residents could join in with - music, singing, dancing, reminiscing, poetry but I was not there for outings or crafts. With some, I had very interesting chats, and the less able were included well.

I didn't have the best bedroom but that was understood before I came in at the last minute.

They delivered more than expectation raised by the brochure.

My mother has recently experienced a week of respite care and has returned home full of praise. She like me finds the staff extremely pleasant and always finding time to chat. The activities are very much appreciated and I consider them to be an important part of the day. I am always happy for my mother to go for respite care and so is she.

Well looked after - cheerful staff - could do with more carers - delightful gardens.

On the whole, we are really pleased with the care Auntie is receiving. There have been a few issues with Aunties breakfast times, but these seem to have been resolved, by waking her earlier. It means she is able to enjoy her dinner more whereas before she was finishing breakfast as late as 12pm.

The staff treat my Auntie really well with patience and kindness. We feel so lucky to have Auntie living in such a wonderful environment. Thank you to all the staff at Burcot Grange, who continue to do a wonderful job.

This is an excellent care home for the very wealthy. Most people needing care would be unable to fund their stay. The facilities are very good and the staff are very caring. We have been very happy with the care received.

That was certainly the icing on the cake.

The activity programme each week was varied with appeal to everybody. The whole atmosphere was calm, peaceful, watchful and clean.

I have found access to short stay respite care for my father-in-law very difficult as understandably, full-time residential care takes president. The assurance of a short stay bed can only be given a few weeks ahead of a requested date, thereby making holiday plans very difficult without firm confirmation of a booked bed. Burcot Grange has been extremely helpful and I feel have gone out of their what to accommodate my requests. My father-in-law who is not a keen advocate of living anywhere other than home, settled in well during his stay, giving me peace of mind that he was safe and well cared for.

The grounds and gardens are very peaceful and nice.

My mother required some time to recover following a hospital admission. Having viewed the home, I could see that the other residents looked well cared for and the facilities were just what we were looking for. My mother has been there for just over a week now and she tells me that she is well looked after and that all the staff have been kind and caring. I can see for myself the difference coming here for a short stay has made to her. She looks much better and is getting back on her feet again. The food is all home cooked and my mother has enjoyed all the meals. As a relative, I have been welcomed by name when I visit by the staff. I would recommend Burcot Grange to others if they were looking for residential care for a loved one. This two-week stay will have enabled my mother to convalesce ready to live independently at home again.

Staff do not simply provide a high standard of care but actually do care, as is clear from their daily conversations and involvement with residents and their families.

Residents can take part in a broad range of activities if they so wish and visits outside e.g to garden centres, musical events etc are regularly arranged. Relatives are supported too with social events such as garden parties, cheese and wine evenings and a recent very informative "dementia friends" evening.

I went into Burcot Grange for 2 weeks respite care. The care and attention I received was first class. Everyone so friendly from the cleaners, kitchen staff right through to the manager. I would recommend Burcot Grange to anyone, I shall certainly return.

I was very welcomed upon arrival and immediately put at ease, as I was as you can appreciate, very apprehensive. My carer had been a manager of the community, so I had, had a brief understanding of the needs required. All my needs have been met above and beyond my expectations. Activities have been varied and enjoyable, along with understanding of my background and personal needs. I would not hesitate in recommending this residence and care to others looking for suitable care.

An excellent, well run care home. The staff are very caring and considerate and the cleanliness is outstanding. I knew that my aunt is very happy and comfortable here.

The elegant "country home" setting and friendly, supportive staff give Burcot Grange a more homely feel than other residential homes.

My wife has stayed at Burcot Grange for periods of respite care over the last couple of years. The home offers a caring and friendly environment. It is quietly and effectively managed and all staff appear to be fully engaging with their guests and all are thoroughly caring and professional in their approach. The facilities of the home are excellent and residents can choose between a variety of activities - or a quiet corner in the house or gardens. My wife is positively bored when she returns to our quiet home! The meals and snacks have been very well received, with plentiful and tasty food. We will have no hesitation in using Burcot Grange again.

I spent the week at 'Burcot Grange' for respite while my family were away. I was well cared for and enjoyed the company. I enjoyed playing skittles. The staff are all very nice and friendly.
