Overall Experience

My husband was admitted to Cleeve House for respite care, after looking after him at home for 16 years with Parkinson's and some dementia. Sadly, he died six weeks later. But I can't praise enough the wonderful staff who looked after him in that short time. Nothing was too much trouble, we were even treated to a delicious meal and a glass of wine together in his room, a photo of which I will always treasure. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, 'home from 'home', always time for a chat and to make my husband smile, not easy when you have Parkinson's.

We could visit at any time and felt like one of the family, always someone there to talk to about any worries we had. Our last few days we stayed all night and were there when he passed away, which was very special, however upsetting. We were never rushed into leaving and the staff were wonderful in the way they made him look at peace and as if he had just fallen asleep. I cannot thank them enough, they were wonderful.

Shortly before Christmas 2023 my elderly Mum who has dementia suffered a sudden deterioration in her condition resulting in our need to place her into residential care for her own safety. We were fortunate to find accommodation in Cleeve House for respite care; our experience during this short period of the warmth, care and attention from all the staff was enough to convince us that her stay should become permanent.

Since then she has settled well into the Cleeve House 'family', such that her physical, mental and emotional state has improved. This is all attributable to the total care, attention and understanding of the compassionate, dedicated staff who have encouraged Mum's personality to flourish.

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care my mother has received since coming into Cleeve House. After a traumatic stay in hospital and having dementia, we needed to find a home that would suit my mothers needs. I am pleased to say that mum now has a beautiful room overlooking the Malvern Hills.
Since moving mum into the home; I have been consistently impressed by the dedication and compassion of all the staff; they are kind, patient, provide excellent personal care with dignity and respect, and with a laugh and a smile along the way.
Mum has engaged in lots of the activities that have taken part in the home; this has helped to keep her active and involved in daily life.

I am confident that my mother is in the best possible hands at Cleeve House. The staff truly go above and beyond to ensure her well-being and happiness. I highly recommend Cleeve House to anyone seeking a caring and supportive home for their loved ones.

My mother went into Cleeve House in March 2024 where she remains. As a person with dementia, the move to the home was very unsettling for her but all the staff made an extra effort to welcome her and settle her in and continue to this day to be attentive and very caring for her. Cleeve House is a home from home nothing is too much for the staff mum is happy content and secure. She enjoys the home cooked food and all the activities from the summer fete to joining in with the visiting singer. It was hard for us as a family to make that decision that mum needed to go into a home and even harder to select a home but Cleeve House have put our minds at rest 100% as we know mum is well looked after and cared for and has the stimulation she needs. The home is always clean and there is always a warm welcome from the staff whenever you visit. I can't thank them enough for their care and attention to mum and all her needs.

My mother was in Cleeve House for six years bar one day. What was so amazing about this, apart from the quality of care, was that the staff who were on duty the day she arrived were the same staff on duty when we cleared her room. This speaks volumes. The home is small which allows staff to really get to know those in their care. The food is home cooked and there is no awful smell when you walk through the door. I can't thank the team enough for the care and love they extended to my mother.

Mum needed to be rehomed into a care home due to her Alzheimer's and failing health that was in 2016 now 4 years later she is so well except for the dementia I would have my old mum back. I thank the staff so much for their dedication to all in making all lives so much better I can't thank them enough and through this pandemic, they have kept everyone safe. Love them all.

Just wanted to write a few words regarding my own personal experience with Cleeve House. This was my Mum's home in the final three years of her life and I can only praise the staff for the exceptional care given to Mum during this time. The staff treated her as an individual - by this I mean not just in the wonderful level of care provided but in the way they interacted with her. Mum suffered with dementia, and her health sadly declined as the month's passed but staff would still regularly get a smile and a laugh out of her. The interior of the home is welcoming and homely and its location has beautiful views to the hills out the back. All in all, I can't praise the manager and deputy manager and the rest of the staff enough. The ease it gave me knowing that Mum was being looked after so well took a huge weight off my mind in those final years. And the attentive care they gave in her final weeks was second to none. Thanks to you all.

The staff are welcoming, caring, professional and patient. Their interaction with my Mum is warm and friendly but also they engage her with humour and affection and she is treated as an individual with dignity.
The facilities are modern with high standards of cleanliness and free from odours.
Mum's room and en-suite is cleaned daily and the bed changed regularly.
All measures appear to be taken to keep mum safe.
A choice of menus for all meals are offered daily and Mum is supported to eat where necessary.

Internal activities take place on a regular basis including, visiting entertainment and occasional trips out to the seaside and safari park.

My Mother has been a resident for 18 months now and I wanted to wait until she had fully settled in and I had experience of the staff and the day to day activities at the home before leaving a review. We have had a steep learning curve taking on the responsibility for finding my mothers current home and going through the emotions of seeing her move from independent living to needing care for her every need.

During the process of finding our mother a home we visited several other care homes but Cleeve had an instant homely feeling. Thankfully over the last 18 months, our first impression has proved to be a reality.

The staff are the major asset of this home. They are friendly, professional and absolutely lovely towards our mother. The food is good, the home always clean and full of good cheer. The residents have a lot of freedom to roam and there are always activities to keep everyone active and involved.

In summary, we would thoroughly recommend Cleeve House to anyone.
