With views of the Malvern Hills, Hastings is in a wonderful location, providing residential, dementia and respite care, which can be booked in advance.

Residents enjoy spacious, beautifully decorated bedrooms, which all have walk in, ensuite wet rooms.

The home has so many spaces to relax in, from the stunning Kennedy suite, to homely lounges and dining rooms, where residents enjoy delicious, home cooking, with freshly baked cakes served with afternoon tea.   

There is also a beautiful large woodland garden, with wheelchair-friendly pathways and mature trees, plus a landscaped garden.

The team are passionate about Sanctuary Care’s Enriching Lives framework, where they support residents to meet their six senses – a sense of achievement, belonging, continuity, security, significance and purpose.

There are so many other activities to enjoy, from animal visits and tai chi, to live music, news chats and reminiscence sessions. And with its own hairdressing salon, residents can enjoy appointments with the home’s mobile hairdresser.

The team at Hastings are passionate about keeping their residents connected with the local community. The home hosts weekly community coffee mornings, and you will often see young children and students popping in for a visit.

Family and friends are welcome at any time, and the home has its own private Facebook page, filled with photographs and videos of what the residents have been enjoying. And if relatives fancy a trip out with their loved ones, Hastings close to Great Malvern Priory, independent shops, restaurants and the Malvern Theatres.

The home supported us in getting together on Boxing Day as a family for the first time in circa three years. My mother is unable to travel to us, so we had the use of their Orangery for the day, doing all the usual present openings etc. The home then provided us all with a meal and wine. All the staff
were helpful and excellent as usual. This was so good for my mother, who really brightened up in the weeks before the event in anticipation of seeing us all, sons, wives, grandchildren and dogs.

We are very happy with the care and service provided by Hastings. My mum always comes across as being happy and content there. The care and kindness. The staff show to Mum and ourselves is excellent. We are very pleased she is so well looked after.

My husband had a pleasant, if unremarkable week. More worryingly was that the medication tray we returned to me with two nights of medication not given/taken. I have a photo of the tray.

Mum has been in Hastings for 9 months and has felt very well looked after from the very start. Staff are interested, caring and cheerful - they all seem to enjoy working here even though I know it cannot always be wonderful for them. Residents are always addressed by name which emphasises the personal
touch that the staff give.
Mum frequently tells me how lucky I was to find such a nice place for her and the food is good too - occasionally I remind her that it was also the result of a lot of research!
Hastings also did a commendable job of keeping residents safe from Covid whilst they achieved full vaccination status.

Dad has been living in Hastings Residential Care Home for 8 months now - initially on a temporary placement, but following my mother's death this became permanent. As another reviewer has commented, at first sight Hastings' modern exterior appears a bit impersonal, but the whole place is beautifully
kept with a lovely garden and the practicality and safety of the layout more than outweighs its utilitarian outside appearance. Most importantly, the care he receives is excellent. Dad has dementia and found it difficult to accept living away from home at first, but the staff were very patient with him and are always positive and encouraging. Within a few weeks he was socialising significantly more than he used to when still living with my mother and also eating much better - thanks to the excellent quality of the meals. He likes to read the weekly menu sheet and look forward to his favourites! He was brilliantly supported to be able to attend my mother's funeral for which we will always be grateful.

Both my parents were residents of Hastings, my father since February 2014 and my mother since April 2017. I cannot fault the care and attention they received the whole time they were there from the care staff and managerial team. I would not hesitate in recommending Hastings to anyone looking for complete
care for their loved ones.

My mother-in-law spent the last two years of her life at Hastings and couldn't have been happier. The staff and carers were all excellent, and the care and devotion that she received towards the end of her life were magnificent. I cannot thank all the staff and carers enough - they were more attentive
than I could ever have imagined. I have no hesitation in recommending Hastings as a fine example of residential care. Well done, everyone!

The care my mum has received in the two years she's been in residence at Hastings Residential Care Home has been excellent. Most importantly, beyond the mechanics of the day-to-day, all the carers and managers I've met - without exception - demonstrate genuine care at the personal level. At first sight,
the uniformity of Hastings modern built-for-purpose layout might look a little impersonal, but Mum and the family haven't found that at all; and the practicality and relative safety of the layout I think have been an advantage given Mum's mobility challenges. I am particularly grateful for how the home managed things when Mum's condition dipped for a while and her needs temporarily increased, including reintegration after an extended hospital visit. We have always been able to resolve any rare issues through honest and open communication. Mum enjoys Hastings and sees it as her true home.

Mum has been a resident at Hastings for three years and the staff have got to know her very well and they respect her ways. Communication regarding visiting during the Covid situation has been excellent. The home has managed a good appointment system for visitors. I cannot imagine how I would have cared

Dad was at Hastings for more than four years. He was a very private person but loved to chat. The staff were kind, caring and treated him as an individual. He was very ill over lockdown and the level of care was second to none.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at The Hastings. My mom loved it there and I was so sad when she had to move because of her increasing nursing needs. The staff were so kind, caring and patient. Can not speak too highly of them all.

I feel mum is receiving excellent care and support, especially in their difficult times. Video calls have been a brilliant idea enabling us to keep in contact when we can't visit physically. The well-being staff have done an excellent job of providing activities for the residents.

I am very pleased with the care Mum receives within the home. All the staff show great respect and kindness. The range of activities is excellent, and the home continually strives to arrange events throughout the year. Huge efforts go into making everyone feel special and included. It is noticeable
that some staff are more observant than others at picking up ailments/health issues, this is fine, but the home is reliant on those 'super carers' to take action and preventive steps to ensure the resident is as healthy as possible. Finally, I must praise the whole team at the home for ensuring it is a Covid-19 free environment. It is an amazing achievement and it shows the care, professionalism and respect every member of staff has for the resident. Each member of staff should be praised for their work.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the Hastings, as their care and respect for my father has been exemplary and consistent.
The staff are always welcoming and create a homely atmosphere. There are regular social get-togethers and themed activities for all to enjoy Any issues or concerns we
may have are always dealt with promptly and efficiently. We are kept informed by phone or email of any needs or issues my father may have, which is very reassuring. During the COVID infection, we have been able to speak regularly by face time to my father and staff.

My aunt has been a resident for four and a half years and has received excellent care from a dedicated team of care workers and staff. The staff are extremely kind and caring. Mum has been there for 19-months and has been looked after very well during that time. I would be happy to suggest the home to other families.
