My Dad has been staying at Regents Court and has been embraced by all the staff and residents as part of a big family. The lady who manages the Regents Court is very proactive and individually tailored my Dads care plan to suit his individual needs and really going that extra mile. The manager is always
reassuring and you confidently feel at ease that my Dad is getting the very best of care. All the team always knew where my Dad was on arrival and everyone was always very welcoming. Thank you to all the team at Regents Court for all the care and attention given to my Dad.

The standard of care is excellent, from the constant requests for " another cup of coffee " to the daily activities & trips to places on interest. Without exception, the staff are kind, patient, caring - all with a sense of humour in what can be difficult circumstances. I am always advised of
health issues & kept up to date with various treatments. Overall , I have been impressed with every aspect of my husband's care & he is happy , settled & has formed a real bond with every member of the excellent staff.

My elderly father has dementia and the team at Regents Court really care about him and look after him even though he can be very difficult at times. My father is comfortable there and enjoys his food and has lots of banter with the caring team.

My father is well cared for, well fed and happy at Regents Court. He is treated with respect and his wishes are always considered. Staff are professional, helpful and friendly. They are respectful of my father and also of our family's wishes. My dad has his own room with an en-suite bathroom. He is
able to maintain some independence while being supported where necessary. Dad is offered activities but doesn’t always want to participate. He and we as a family are happy with the care he receives and I enjoy visiting him and am always made welcome and kept up to date with dad’s care and well-being.

There is literally nothing good about this care home. There is no care in it at all, just removed my Dad. He was not treated with any dignity, often went and he was scruffy, in wet clothes, left in cold rooms with the heating not working. The management team are rude when you reported concerns. It was
only when we were trying to move him and someone sent us to the CQC report did we realise exactly how bad it was there. Seriously do not put your loved ones there.
Reply from The Manager, Manager at Regents Court

We take all complaints seriously at Regents Court and we are sorry that you felt your father didn't receive adequate care during the 12 months that he was here. There was an issue with the heating within certain rooms within the care home and this was rectified within 24 hours. All concerns raised were listened to appropriately and dealt with in a timely manner. Since failings were identified at the recent CQC visit, Regents Court has had a change in Registered manager and recruited a new deputy manager. Management are working closely with CQC and the local authority to ensure compliance in all areas.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.322)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.322) out of 10 for Regents Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.197 for Regents Court is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.197
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.125 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Regents Court is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.625
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
