Coldbrock House

This is a home I would go in if/when I am ready to do so. The staff make you feel at home and help you through your bad days. They can tell if you would like to be quieter or want to mix. In all, they are a friendly team, keeping everything running smoothly.

We had no difficulty in deciding this was the place for my husband’s respite care. When I took him to Bearwood House the transfer into their care was smooth and efficient, and I have since received regular updates about my husband from the Manager.

I would certainly recommend Bearwood House to anyone who is considering that their loved one may need additional care.

Very accomodating through difficult circumstances. My brother needed to go into a home from hospital during last years Covid lockdown. Everyone always there for my brother and me.

All seems well behind the scenes as, since 2020 March, I've not entered the building. Visually Mum looks happy and well cared for. The new team seem to have been busy re-organising and decorating the home, which is good. The activities coordinator is very friendly and has introduced lots of wonderful new activities along with the manager. It's hard to judge, but I feel comfortable and reassured that my mum is in a caring environment and is content.

We have always been made very welcome when visiting Mum who is well looked after, happy and enjoys herself in a friendly atmosphere.

My father was previously living alone in sheltered accommodation. Despite myself and other family members supporting him, his health deteriorated over the years and coupled with dementia, we took the decision to move him into a care home. We were recommended Bearwood House by a friend who's mother had moved there. Since moving in, my father's health improved significantly and I can't thank them enough. My father has been at Bearwood for a couple years now and due to old age related health issues, has started to deteriorate once again, however the staff and management have been very supportive and I can't fault them as they have kept me informed all the way, but will perhaps need to think about moving my father into a nursing home. This is a shame, as moving into Bearwood House was the best thing for my father at the time and I am glad we managed to get him in when we did. It will be a shame for him to leave.

The management and staff at Bearwood House are brilliant. My father-in-law has only been there a few weeks but really settled into life there from day one. The very friendly atmosphere and dedicated staff make it a lovely place for family members to visit. What with the home-cooked meals that he raves about, and plenty of activities to keep him occupied, what more could anyone wish for. After struggling at home alone, he now feels very safe and secure under the caring approach of the staff who constantly go above and beyond what you would expect. Thank you.

My wife has only been in a short time so far. But we find everything satisfactory and all the staff are very good.

My mum-in-law loved ins sheltered accommodation until she moved into Bearwood House practically a recluse. At first she wouldn't come out of her room but after a time of being encouraged to join in she now takes part in singing, exercise and many more things, thanks to the dedicated staff and the entertainment lady and she has made many friends.

We had to put Mum into respite care a year ago and were very impressed. When my Dad died a few months later we realised she was so much better at Bearwood than she would have been at home. The staff are wonderful.

The staff are kind and patient and I think they do a marvellous job.

The care my mother has received at Bearwood House has appeared, to my Father and myself, to be faultless and the staff have individually and collectively been excellent in their dealing with her. My father, who is 92 himself is always welcomed by the staff members on duty and made to feel part of the Bearwood House “family”

The only minor issue I would have is to do with the lack of feedback on the various hospital visits our mother makes, if we enquire with a member of staff usually nobody has the information due to shift changes.

Nothing bad to say about Bearwood. Staff are superb. Very friendly.
