Mom feels this is her 'home' and has settled well over almost 2 years. She has been treated with respect and enjoys the activities and the food. Her wishes are respected and she is able to have time in her room, watch TV and be 'quiet' when she wishes. The homely atmosphere and banter with the carers
are evident whenever I visit. I am kept fully informed about Mom's health/care and have always felt that Mom is in the right place. Excellent carers who work hard and entertainment staff are always busy with varied activities.

My dad has been in the home since December 2022. He has been well cared for and all the staff including the management go above and beyond to ensure all residents are happy, well cared for and as independent as possible. The activities team provide a variety of activities and makes them inclusive to
all. My family have also been made to feel very welcome and I visit daily. The meals and hospitality family are very good. I have been very happy with the care dad has always received.

My grandad has been part of the Firs family since December 2022. The care he has received since being here has been impeccable by both carers, management and the activities team. Everyone is welcoming, friendly and inclusive to all. The way staff help, support and strive for my grandad to be as independent
as possible is such a delight. He is always happy, well fed and remembers his please and thank yous! We as a family couldn't be happier with the home, as we feel it is home from home for him and us.

My mum has been in the care of The Firs Care Home for the last 7 years. She has always been well looked after and this continues to be the case as her needs increase. She is always clean and well-fed. Mum has a special smile for her carers and she gives them a look of understanding and thanks. The staff
are always welcome and well-informed about my mum and I pray my mum finishes her days at The Firs in the place where she is happy and content. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.

Since my mother came into The Firs she is in a much safer place. The staff are amazing and so friendly. It's great that dad and I can bring the family dog. The residents love to have a fuss too. The meals smell amazing. The activities are varied and day trips and pub lunches are also available. We feel

I am very satisfied with the care my husband is given. It can’t be easy dealing with him as the stroke has taken his ability to speak. All the staff are very caring and take their time with him. They also show care and consideration to all the family. The staff are always welcoming and pleasant, no

Went and viewed several different homes, and without a doubt, the best in the area for cleanliness (five stars). Staff are very pleasant and caring. Management very supportive and knowledgeable. Meals (five stars), especially bread pudding. Without a shadow of any doubt, the best care home we visited,

Nan's move to The Firs has not been straightforward. She has had to overcome some hurdles and some sadness in her journey. However, she is happy and enjoys the activities. She has formed some nice relationships with carers and with some residents. I wish she could be in her own home, but she is happy

Mam is always involved in all the activities that are going on at The Firs Care Home (evidenced by photos on Facebook). She has always enjoyed being involved and gets great pleasure in doing so. It was a hard time during Covid lockdown but the staff were all as friendly and helpful as they could have
been and now it's lifted I have seen for myself the love and care the residents get including my mother. There's always a smile and a cuppa waiting for both me and Mam. Thank you all.

I am very pleased with the care my mum has received since she has been at The Firs. The home is lovely and homely. The staff are all very caring and attentive the food is exceptional. There are lots of activities to keep the residents entertained. All in all very happy and cannot fault anything.

I have found the staff and carers to be very kind and caring. Compared to wghere she stayed last, the care is second to none. Upon visiting, the staff are incredibly welcoming and respectful too. The residents, especially seem to enjoy the activities that are organised for them and happily join in.
I also look forward to the images taken and shared online with the familes. My sister always looks happy.

I visited my dad in his room inside the care home for the first time since restrictions have been lifted. After the covid test and wearing the provided PPE, I was led to where he was waiting. A cup of tea and biscuits were offered. It was absolutely wonderful to see my dad again, in close contact so
that I could hold his hand and have a relatively private conversation. The atmosphere was relaxed and caring and nothing was any trouble. I can't wait to go again.

Victoria Harvey has been a cornerstone of The Firs since 2008, showing unwavering commitment to its residents. When Northgate purchased the home, Victoria was already the manager, a role in which she has excelled by ensuring the highest quality of care and a warm, welcoming environment for all.


Victoria’s dedication to the well-being of her residents is evident in every aspect of her work. She goes above and beyond to ensure each individual feels valued and cared for, nurturing a strong sense of community at The Firs. Her long tenure at the home is a testament to her deep passion and love for what she does, continuously proving that high standards of care and genuine connection go hand in hand
