I am very pleased with the care my mum has received since she has been at The Firs. The home is lovely and homely. The staff are all very caring and attentive the food is exceptional. There are lots of activities to keep the residents entertained. All in all very happy and cannot fault anything.

I have found the staff and carers to be very kind and caring. Compared to wghere she stayed last, the care is second to none. Upon visiting, the staff are incredibly welcoming and respectful too. The residents, especially seem to enjoy the activities that are organised for them and happily join in.
I also look forward to the images taken and shared online with the familes. My sister always looks happy.

I visited my dad in his room inside the care home for the first time since restrictions have been lifted. After the covid test and wearing the provided PPE, I was led to where he was waiting. A cup of tea and biscuits were offered. It was absolutely wonderful to see my dad again, in close contact so
that I could hold his hand and have a relatively private conversation. The atmosphere was relaxed and caring and nothing was any trouble. I can't wait to go again.

Since being admitted to the Firs in November 2020, I have been pleased with my husband's care and as a family, we selected the right home to give him the personal care and stimulation mentally, that he requires. The staff are always so pleasant and caring.

My mum has been in The Firs for several years and has always been very happy with the way she has been looked after. The staff are very friendly, helpful and flexible to allow her to live in the way she wants to. The food has always been good, and the dealing in the home has always been to a high standard.
Visiting has always been easy and a lot of effort has been put into providing safe visits during the Covid pandemic. An excellent home.

An amazing care home. My auntie has been at The Firs Care Home for nearly two years. The staff and management are all amazing, and she is very comfortable there. The Firs Care Home and all of their staff are excellent. They really do treat their residents like members of their own families. The rooms and common areas are spotlessly clean. This is limited because I did not enter the home when he was admitted on 22/05/2020 because of Covid. The only time I entered the home was on 10/03/20201 when was taken straight to his bedroom then escorted out after the visits. All of the staff I have spoken to seem to be nice people - caring, helpful,
sympathetic and understanding, and they should be commended for the dedication and hard work they do in such awful and difficult circumstances.

Lovely, caring staff. My dad is very comfortable. The home and staff have worked very hard during lockdown to facilitate visits etc, which has helped us a lot. The food and care have always been excellent, and I could not recommend it enough. The only downside is the parking, but this is something that
can’t be helped.

My uncle came into The Firs in November 2020. It was a really hard decision to make, but he needed more support and help than I could give him. I briefly got to look around due to Covid, and I felt welcomed as soon as I got there. I know he is safe now and is being looked after and has company, a better
quality of life.

Victoria Harvey has been a cornerstone of The Firs since 2008, showing unwavering commitment to its residents. When Northgate purchased the home, Victoria was already the manager, a role in which she has excelled by ensuring the highest quality of care and a warm, welcoming environment for all.


Victoria’s dedication to the well-being of her residents is evident in every aspect of her work. She goes above and beyond to ensure each individual feels valued and cared for, nurturing a strong sense of community at The Firs. Her long tenure at the home is a testament to her deep passion and love for what she does, continuously proving that high standards of care and genuine connection go hand in hand
