It is so reassuring to know that my auntie is cared for 24-hours/7-days a week and kept as active as possible by the activity team, especially one lady who goes above and beyond.

My mum has been in The Firs for several years and has always been very happy with the way she has been looked after. The staff are very friendly, helpful and flexible to allow her to live in the way she wants to. The food has always been good, and the dealing in the home has always been to a high standard.
Visiting has always been easy and a lot of effort has been put into providing safe visits during the Covid pandemic. An excellent home.

An amazing care home. My auntie has been at The Firs Care Home for nearly two years. The staff and management are all amazing, and she is very comfortable there. She enjoys engaging in all the wonderful activities and themed days that are put on. Management is really good and approachable. Never had
any concerns. Keep up the work everyone; you have provided 5-star care to my auntie from day one!

Personally, I cannot praise The Firs enough - the care provided to my uncle has been second to none. The Firs Care Home and all of their staff are excellent. They really do treat their residents like members of their own families. The rooms and common areas are spotlessly clean. The food is well balanced, nutritious and tasty. The staff have tremendous sympathy and patience with residents and are kind

This is limited because I did not enter the home when he was admitted on 22/05/2020 because of Covid. The only time I entered the home was on 10/03/20201 when was taken straight to his bedroom then escorted out after the visits. All of the staff I have spoken to seem to be nice people - caring, helpful,
sympathetic and understanding, and they should be commended for the dedication and hard work they do in such awful and difficult circumstances.

Lovely, caring staff. My dad is very comfortable. The home and staff have worked very hard during lockdown to facilitate visits etc, which has helped us a lot. The food and care have always been excellent, and I could not recommend it enough. The only downside is the parking, but this is something that

My uncle came into The Firs in November 2020. It was a really hard decision to make, but he needed more support and help than I could give him. I briefly got to look around due to Covid, and I felt welcomed as soon as I got there. I know he is safe now and is being looked after and has company, a better

My mum has been a resident of The Firs Care Home since July 2020. The staff at the care home have been amazing during this time. They welcomed her in the middle of the pandemic when we were struggling, as a family, to provide daily support for her. All necessary checks were carried out effectively,
but sympathetically as well. Since then, she has settled in fabulously and seems really happy and well cared for. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending The Firs as an ideal home for people who needs extra care to support their daily needs.

Victoria Harvey has been a cornerstone of The Firs since 2008, showing unwavering commitment to its residents. When Northgate purchased the home, Victoria was already the manager, a role in which she has excelled by ensuring the highest quality of care and a warm, welcoming environment for all.


Victoria’s dedication to the well-being of her residents is evident in every aspect of her work. She goes above and beyond to ensure each individual feels valued and cared for, nurturing a strong sense of community at The Firs. Her long tenure at the home is a testament to her deep passion and love for what she does, continuously proving that high standards of care and genuine connection go hand in hand
