The Firs Care Home

I am very pleased with the care my mum has received since she has been at The Firs. The home is lovely and homely. The staff are all very caring and attentive the food is exceptional. There are lots of activities to keep the residents entertained. All in all very happy and cannot fault anything.

I have found the staff and carers to be very kind and caring. Compared to wghere she stayed last, the care is second to none. Upon visiting, the staff are incredibly welcoming and respectful too. The residents, especially seem to enjoy the activities that are organised for them and happily join in. I also look forward to the images taken and shared online with the familes. My sister always looks happy.

I visited my dad in his room inside the care home for the first time since restrictions have been lifted. After the covid test and wearing the provided PPE, I was led to where he was waiting. A cup of tea and biscuits were offered. It was absolutely wonderful to see my dad again, in close contact so that I could hold his hand and have a relatively private conversation. The atmosphere was relaxed and caring and nothing was any trouble. I can't wait to go again.

My wife has only been at the Firs for two weeks but my initial impression is that she is well cared for and treated with respect and dignity.

Very friendly, trustworthy, helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble, and the residents (in my opinion) are made to feel like they are living in a home from home and are made to feel very welcome.

I have been extremely happy with the level of care that my mother has received during her time at the Firs care home. All the staff are very caring and friendly. They go the extra mile to put activities and events on for the residents. It is always a pleasure to visit Mom at the care home, as it is very warm and welcoming.

Since being admitted to the Firs in November 2020, I have been pleased with my husband's care and as a family, we selected the right home to give him the personal care and stimulation mentally, that he requires. The staff are always so pleasant and caring.

My Auntie is really settled at The Firs and she especially loves getting involved with the activities. The Management and staff go above and beyond and the care she receives is exceptional. The home is very clean and modern and food always smells amazing. 5 star all the way. Keep up the good work.

It is so reassuring to know that my auntie is cared for 24-hours/7-days a week and kept as active as possible by the activity team, especially one lady who goes above and beyond.

My mum has been in The Firs for several years and has always been very happy with the way she has been looked after. The staff are very friendly, helpful and flexible to allow her to live in the way she wants to. The food has always been good, and the dealing in the home has always been to a high standard. Visiting has always been easy and a lot of effort has been put into providing safe visits during the Covid pandemic. An excellent home.

An amazing care home. My auntie has been at The Firs Care Home for nearly two years. The staff and management are all amazing, and she is very comfortable there. She enjoys engaging in all the wonderful activities and themed days that are put on. Management is really good and approachable. Never had any concerns. Keep up the work everyone; you have provided 5-star care to my auntie from day one!

Personally, I cannot praise The Firs enough - the care provided to my uncle has been second to none. Staff and management are approachable, and most importantly, helpful, respectful and kind at all times. The activities on offer are amazing. Well done to everything there for making The Firs a proper home for our relatives and for keeping them safe during the pandemic.

The Firs Care Home and all of their staff are excellent. They really do treat their residents like members of their own families. The rooms and common areas are spotlessly clean. The food is well balanced, nutritious and tasty. The staff have tremendous sympathy and patience with residents and are kind and thoughtful towards family members. We would not hesitate to recommend the home to friends and family.

Excellent care provided. Individualised care is evident. Staff are very approachable, and care goes above and beyond the expected standard. Very varied and extensive activities programme. Lovely environment. Excellent relationship between staff, residents and relatives. Excellent job with regard to keeping everyone safe (Covid).

This is limited because I did not enter the home when he was admitted on 22/05/2020 because of Covid. The only time I entered the home was on 10/03/20201 when was taken straight to his bedroom then escorted out after the visits. All of the staff I have spoken to seem to be nice people - caring, helpful, sympathetic and understanding, and they should be commended for the dedication and hard work they do in such awful and difficult circumstances.

Lovely, caring staff. My dad is very comfortable. The home and staff have worked very hard during lockdown to facilitate visits etc, which has helped us a lot. The food and care have always been excellent, and I could not recommend it enough. The only downside is the parking, but this is something that can’t be helped.

The Firs staff have shown the utmost care for my mother at all times. During the pandemic, the greatest care and safety has been in place. Extremely happy that my mother has been well cared for and kept safe.

My mother is settled and happy at The Firs. Despite multiple health conditions, she receives first-class support and has, as a result, has a good quality of life. She particularly enjoys the activities and the food. As result, our family are happy and confident to leave my mother in the care of The Firs. During the last 12 challenging months, this has been important to all of us.

This care home gives excellent care 24/7, in my opinion. The activities through lockdown have been second to none! She looks extremely well and happy, which is all that's important. The staff are delightful, and the organisation on the present visits is really good!

My uncle came into The Firs in November 2020. It was a really hard decision to make, but he needed more support and help than I could give him. I briefly got to look around due to Covid, and I felt welcomed as soon as I got there. I know he is safe now and is being looked after and has company, a better quality of life.
