Mom moved from another care home a year and a half ago as we were not happy with her care. We visited The heather's and already the atmosphere was so different, so warm and welcoming and I could see the residents were very content. Mom is bed bound with Alzheimer's/dementia so she doesn't move around the home but her care is brilliant! The girls, both nursing staff and the cleaners are so lovely and always pop in for a chat. They take great care of mom and the way they communicate with her. You can see they really care and interact with all residents. Management are also great as are the kitchen staff. Nothing is too much to ask and any queries are answered. The home is always spotless and the meals are great! I can't recommend the home enough! Thank you for making my mom content and taking such good care of her :)
It means a great deal to know that the warm and welcoming atmosphere you experienced...
Our family member originally needed emergency respite care for a few weeks. The swift, professional, help and support provided by the admin team and manager gave us the confidence to choose the home for residential care. Our family member was made very welcome by everyone on her initial visit and we felt confident that she would be safe, reassured and cared for when we left her for the first overnight stay. Our family member has settled really well. Staff are compassionate, caring and approachable; the residents are treated with respect and dignity. The home is very clean and well maintained. We are kept up-to-date with care plans and any concerns. The staff know the residents really well and everyone works as a team. When visiting the environment is professional, calm and caring. The activities are well thought out and our family member gets actively involved when she wants to

Overall myself and my family are very pleased with the care my mother receives. The carers are pleasant and polite. Little touches mean a lot, such as some carers applying a little make up to mum or just coming in to give mum a hug because they know it means something to her. Anyone who is looking for a nursing home for their loved one need look no further as The Heathers is all they need.

My mum had been at the Heathers now for almost 3 years. My review is based on my latest experience as with all homes there will be good days and not so good days. Overall the care from the staff at the Heathers is very good as everybody cares.
Thursday was a fantastic day as it was my mum's 96th birthday. Lisa the new activities coordinator made my mums day. It's the simple things that matter and she went above and beyond with her thoughtful and caring way. Lisa is bright and she has made such a difference in such a short time and has brought the Heathers to life with the activities which residents are now enjoying.
Six stars today for Lisa and the team who made someone's day special..
Thank you

My wife was moved from another care home to the Heathers. She has dementia/Alzheimer's and is bed bound. I have found the care and attention provided by the Heathers to be exceptional. All the staff at the Heathers show good care and respect to all of the residents. The facilities are bright clean and well cared for. Staff are very good from management, office, carers, house keeping, kitchen to maintenance any concerns can be addressed. Would most certainly recommend the Heathers to anyone.

Today was my dad's 90th birthday ' he resides at the Heather's nursing home with my mom. We shared a lovely day with them both. The staff decorated his room with banner's and balloons ' a cake was given to him and all the staff visited him and sang happy Birthday. Both my parents look so well and happy together ' it's a pleasure to visit them and as a family we don't have to worry about them as they are cared for so well' all the staff are so lovely and friendly and very caring ' we are very pleased with the care and support you provide. Thank you all so much .X

My mother-in-law was cared for 3 weeks at The Heathers before sadly passing away. She was treated with dignity & concern & respect at all times by the care staff & D2A manager, as well as the receptionist.
Thank you very much for your kind words which I have shared with our team.
The experience at The Heathers was superb, We were fully informed and advised about everything. The care was fantastic, The Heathers is staffed by empathetic knowledgeable personnel, my mother was treated with dignity and respect throughout.
Thank you for your kind words. We always aim to meet the needs of our service users and greatly appreciate positive feedback. i will share this with Tracey and all the team who will be delighted and very grateful for your comments.
My mum passed away in June with Alzheimers after five happy years receiving excellent care throughout her stay. The care & office staff at the home were amazing. My mum received CHC funding so the home was one of two choices given by the NHS. The Heathers was closer to her family home & therefore easier for friends and family to visit. Our experience was turned on its head however after her last NHS CHC review in Oct 2024 led to funding being withdrawn. We immediately appealed following advice from the team at the home who couldn't understand it at all. The appeal was subsequently successful, however, the relentless pressure put on me to settle outstanding fees when the finance team/head office were well aware of the impending appeal was incredibly distressing at a time when I had been told my mum had a few weeks to live. If your loved one is in receipt of CHC funding, I would encourage you to think carefully before placing them there as the experience haunts me to this day.
Although my mom's stay here wasn't to be too long from the moment she arrived she seemed to relax and be at peace. I had moved her from a failing previous care home and they made us both feel welcome from the onset.
From Admin too care staff and handymen all were friendly and efficient.
On the day of my mom's death the staff were so helpful and compassionate, they even cried with me as my mom passed over quite suddenly.
Thank you very much for your kind words which I will pass on to the staff team. It was a pleasure to care for your Mum and provide you with support at this sad time.
My Mum arrived at The Heathers still very poorly after several stays in hospital in the previous 6 months. Her experiences prior to this had been stressful but from the moment we arrived I felt we had her in the right place. Everyone welcomed us with smiles, and they were clearly a caring and dedicated team. Everyone of the staff were there to help and all of them provided an outstanding service. On the day my mum passed away I was overwhelmed by the care and respect of the team. They are truly a special bunch of people and deserve a high level of praise. There were so many people involved with my mum but from Management team to the Cook every one of them worked so hard and made sure that they met my mum's needs. The Heathers is a very special place, run by very special people helping families to achieve the very best of care for their loved ones. I cannot thank them enough!
Thank you for your lovely review and kind words. It was a pleasure to care for your Mom and we are pleased to know that you felt supported by our staff, throughout your Mom's stay with us.
We are happy my nanna is in this care home considering the friendly and caring staff, open to any of your requests and happy to help. The room is good and although my nan doesn't use them the lounges are nice!
Thankyou for your lovely review, I will share your comments with the staff team.
Both my parents have been in the Heathers since October 2023. They have now sadly passed away within a short time of each other. Whilst we are grieving we are also immensely thankful that their last stages of life were spent at The Heathers. Each and every member of staff has shown such respect and love for our parents. Words cannot do justice to the kindness that has been shown to them. The Heathers is a shining example of how a home should be run.
Thank you for your lovely comments which I will share with our Staff Team. It was a pleasure to care for your parents and also to get to know you and your family.
During the few days my sister was at The Heathers, communication, care, friendliness and attitude from all the staff, whom I came in contact with were outstanding, in fact, it was excellent.
When visiting, we were made very welcome, staff always had time to answer our questions. All in all, we are very impressed, so well done, The Heathers.
Thank you so much for your review. Collectively, in the home we try and create a great experience for not only residents but family members too and try and help in any way we can. I will pass on your kind review to all the staff at our home.
I have already written a review about the care my mother and father were receiving at The Heathers where they were admitted in the palliative care stage of their life last year. This review relates to the passing of both my parents recently and the care both they and myself, my sister received in the final stages of their life. To say this was exemplary would be an understatement. The care and kindness shown to us all was well beyond expectation from all staff, both day and night. Whilst their passing is sad we are able to keep the happy memories of our parents right up until the last moment. I cannot thank the staff enough for what they gave us. This is what end-of-life care should look like.
Thank you for taking the time to review us at The Heathers. Your positive comments about the staff are fantastic to read - it is lovely for the team to know that they are appreciated!
