In general mum is happy to reside at Eversleigh Care Centre staff and nurses are very supportive and respond in good time and quality to her needs, which are not straight forward as she is bed bound.
New management is a breath of fresh air, they are firm but fair and always professional. This has not always been the case with some previous managers.

Since the arrival of the new cook last year. Quality and variety of food has increaed tremendously. Mum looks forward to her meals now cook trys to accomodate mum's specific requests sometimes excellent

My grandpa has declined rapidly but the nurses have been fabulous especially Paula/Pauline?? Who updated us regularly and nothing is a bother to her. Grandpa not eating much but portions looked fine and he loved his ice-cream. All Starr including housekeeping, reception etc very helpful and kind.

The only downside is the look of the rooms as very bare and reminds me of a b&b in Blackpool but apart from this my grandpa is been looked after by kind, helpful, friendly and respectful staff.. My dad also gets a coffee and biscuits offered to him which is a lovely gesture.

Mom moved from another care home a year and a half ago as we were not happy with her care. We visited The heather's and already the atmosphere was so different, so warm and welcoming and I could see the residents were very content. Mom is bed bound with Alzheimer's/dementia so she doesn't move around the home but her care is brilliant! The girls, both nursing staff and the cleaners are so lovely and always pop in for a chat. They take great care of mom and the way they communicate with her. You can see they really care and interact with all residents. Management are also great as are the kitchen staff. Nothing is too much to ask and any queries are answered. The home is always spotless and the meals are great! I can't recommend the home enough! Thank you for making my mom content and taking such good care of her :)

Overall Experience

My husband was placed here for respite by the Social services as we part fund his care. If I had known what it was like I would never have let him go in there. He had been mobilising with a frame to the toilet/lounge at home. They left him in bed for 3 weeks in an awful, room alone, surroinded by people screaming (he does not have dementi) and people crying help me. He could not get any sleep, and was exhausted so therefore did not want to get up and wasn't encouraged to. I did not get a break as I had to keep going to check he was ok. On one occassion I witnessed him being taken to the bathroom for a shower and he was shouting out as the staff were bashing him about and,as they knew I was outside they were telling him to sush. The food was awful and he came home having lost considerable weight and strenght with dry, dehydrated skin and very weak. Thus was after just 3 weeks. It is a depressing, short staffed and tick box exercise establishment. Would never send anyone there.

Our family member originally needed emergency respite care for a few weeks. The swift, professional, help and support provided by the admin team and manager gave us the confidence to choose the home for residential care. Our family member was made very welcome by everyone on her initial visit and we felt confident that she would be safe, reassured and cared for when we left her for the first overnight stay. Our family member has settled really well. Staff are compassionate, caring and approachable; the residents are treated with respect and dignity. The home is very clean and well maintained. We are kept up-to-date with care plans and any concerns. The staff know the residents really well and everyone works as a team. When visiting the environment is professional, calm and caring. The activities are well thought out and our family member gets actively involved when she wants to

Review of Eversleigh Nursing Home from Mary R (Sister of Resident) published on 23 June 2026 Submitted via Website

My brother has been a resident at Eversleigh Nursing Home for a number of years and has always received excellent care and kindness both for his physical and mental health as well as understanding of his learning difficulties. The staff are always welcoming and pleasant and do their very best to make visitors to the home welcome at all times. The home always looks clean and I have never noticed any bad smells. My brother's room is always in good order and he receives a good variety of meals. He did have a feeding tube at one time because of a serious illness which it was later discovered was incorrectly diagnosed and the tube was removed. However, in view of this, care is taken by staff to ensure that his food is generally easy to digest and he rarely experiences any problems despite being 81 years of age.

Conifers is a friendly welcoming nursing home. My dad is washed and dressed every day. His room is always clean and tidy. My mum has been a resident since December 2025. Within 24hrs in their care. My mum had been washed and was dressed in fresh clothes and sitting in the lounge with the other residents. This is something the paid carers attending her own house could not achieve in a year. Within the first 24hrs the office also knew my mum by name and the care that had been administered in that period.

I know my mum is cared for and safe which has been a great weight lifted

Conifers has changed my Nan's life. At home, she was bed bound, never slept, sitting in bed all day and night in the dark with the TV blaring. Since moving to Conifers, nan has become engaged and so much more settled. The staff are fantastic, her room is clean and pleasant, she eats really well, she's made friends, and she is up and about. What we couldn't do for her at home, the Conifers team have done for her, and more. I trust them to look after nan, and that on its own is an incredible relief. To know that your loved one is safe and happy, is worth more than money can buy.

My mum had been in residence at Eversleigh since October 2025 . The home is a calming environment and welcoming when you enter, Office and all staff are friendly and welcoming . Mum took a few weeks to settle and relax understanding the routine and was able to spend time in her room, watching sport and her programmes on TV, reading and colouring , the activity team are exceptional and have well planned activities and mum joined in supporting her social well being. All staff , nursing , carers, maintenance are caring and considerate, all meals were tailored to suit my mum and were delicious. My husband has been nursed and cared for at Eversleigh for almost 2 years now. The care and nursing is excellent, with good links to local GPs. All of the care assistants are caring, and diligent and hardworking and do their very best to keep him safe and comfortable. Nursing staff are attentive and competent as well as caring and thoughtful. He has deteriorating and changing needs and I have found the team very responsive and caring to him as his needs have increased. Kitchen and laundry teams also play a part in making sure he is well cared for.
The building is in need of a refit and isn't fancy, but the quality of the care far outweighs that.

I'm grateful for the support of the whole team during what can often be a lonely and sad time for relatives.
