My wife was moved from another care home to the Heathers. She has dementia/Alzheimer's and is bed bound. I have found the care and attention provided by the Heathers to be exceptional. All the staff at the Heathers show good care and respect to all of the residents. The facilities are bright clean and
well cared for. Staff are very good from management, office, carers, house keeping, kitchen to maintenance any concerns can be addressed. Would most certainly recommend the Heathers to anyone.
Reply from Laura Hughes, Office Manager at The HeathersThank you so much for your kind review of our Nursing Home. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience-it means a great deal to our team and helps us continue providing the best possible care.

Today was my dad's 90th birthday ' he resides at the Heather's nursing home with my mom. We shared a lovely day with them both. The staff decorated his room with banner's and balloons ' a cake was given to him and all the staff visited him and sang happy Birthday. Both my parents look so well and
happy together ' it's a pleasure to visit them and as a family we don't have to worry about them as they are cared for so well' all the staff are so lovely and friendly and very caring ' we are very pleased with the care and support you provide. Thank you all so much .X

My mother-in-law was cared for 3 weeks at The Heathers before sadly passing away. She was treated with dignity & concern & respect at all times by the care staff & D2A manager, as well as the receptionist.

My mum passed away in June with Alzheimers after five happy years receiving excellent care throughout her stay. The care & office staff at the home were amazing. My mum received CHC funding so the home was one of two choices given by the NHS. The Heathers was closer to her family home & therefore easier
for friends and family to visit. Our experience was turned on its head however after her last NHS CHC review in Oct 2024 led to funding being withdrawn. We immediately appealed following advice from the team at the home who couldn't understand it at all. The appeal was subsequently successful, however, the relentless pressure put on me to settle outstanding fees when the finance team/head office were well aware of the impending appeal was incredibly distressing at a time when I had been told my mum had a few weeks to live. If your loved one is in receipt of CHC funding, I would encourage you to think carefully before placing them there as the experience haunts me to this day.

Although my mom's stay here wasn't to be too long from the moment she arrived she seemed to relax and be at peace. I had moved her from a failing previous care home and they made us both feel welcome from the onset.

From Admin too care staff and handymen all were friendly and efficient.

On

the day of my mom's death the staff were so helpful and compassionate, they even cried with me as my mom passed over quite suddenly.

Over the last few years, my wife has had various falls and now dementia. The Conifers was recommended to us and my wife has stayed their for several weeks for respite. I can honestly say, from the office staff to kitchen workers and the laundry lady, the lovely carers. it has helped myself recharge
my batteries for another few months. So all in all you would struggle to find a more friendly day to day caring home.

Our 57-year-old brother was transferred to The Old Vicarage from our local hospital. We had a look around before we made our decision and were warmly welcomed by the nurse in charge and the team. Our brother received 10 weeks nursing care, a number of which encompassed end-of-life care. The whole team
were kind, caring and compassionate towards not only our brother but to us as a family and his friends too. It was an anxious time all round and the management took the time to listen and respond to our queries. We could not have asked for better care in his last few days when we remained with him day and night. We are truly grateful, thank you. We were aware of an activity programme but our brother was too poorly to participate so unable to rate.

The staff are very kind and support me with all my needs. I feel well looked after and safe. I would prefer to be at home but I cannot look after myself. I see the manager everyday and she checks that I have everything I need. The food is really nice, especially the cakes. My room is small but is ok.
I can put my photographs up.

Our short experience with Conifers whilst our Nan was bought in for end-of-life care was full of kindness, honesty, and high-level care. The staff always made sure she was as comfortable as possible, treating her with dignity and respect. The girls made us feel welcome and helped us with my two-year-old
son who often liked to meet the residents. If paying, it's more expensive than other homes, so the cost is a little high.

From first arriving and signing in the fire register, the front of house administration office workers are all friendly and competent. Next port of call is usually the carers, cleaners and kitchen staff that I meet in the corridors, again all friendly and busy at their work. The senior nursing staff
are always helpful and competent, knowledgeable about my wife's care requirements and will take on constructive advice from myself who cared for her beforehand. My wife is happy with care she receives and hasn't a poor word to say for any of the regular staff. Her only complaint is the quality of care from agency workers who cover sick leave or absences, they are not well aware of the residents regular requirements.

Mum has been a resident of the Conifers since June 2022. In the last 2 years, I have had no occasion to doubt that all her needs are met and that she is treated with kindness. In the last few months since Mum has been deteriorating the staff have gone out of their way to make sure she is comfortable
at all times. As she is nonverbal all her needs are second-guessed by the staff. I have nothing but good things to say about The Conifers.
