Pleased that Mum has been so settled here, even if she does ask every 5 minutes "where am I again?" Staff are so friendly and welcoming and seem to really care for my mum. It's been difficult for everyone recently, due to the pandemic, but everyone here at the Heathers has done an amazing job to keep going! Well done everyone. It's been hard not being able to visit or see loved ones at the beginning and in my case, difficult to try and make my mum understand all that was happening and why so many changes. She's come through one war and I feel as though I have come through one, during this COVID 19 pandemic. The changes inside are looking very nice now it's near completion. Keep up the good work everyone.
Thank you so much for your kind words Gill. We appreciate the feedback and will share it with the staff team. Thank you for trusting us to care for your mum.
I was always made to feel welcome by nurses, care assistants, kitchen staff and cleaners, who all contribute to the warm, friendly atmosphere at The Heathers.
Thank you very much for your kind words, which we will share with the staff team.
All the staff are friendly to us and my mum when we visit. She always says they look after her well. She likes the food and drinks and it's always clean. They do nice activities for special events like VE Day. Overall I'm pleased with the care my mum receives.
Dad was resident downstairs at The Heathers from Oct 2018 until his death on 1.3.20. The Heathers is made by their staff. They are friendly approachable and will answer questions. They developed a real caring, dignified and affectionate relationship with Dad and us. The head cook and her team provided meals that were familiar to him and tailored to his tastes and preferences. They monitored his weight and nutritional shake and built him back up after several illnesses and hospital admissions. The care during his final illness was truly exceptional, both to Dad and us as family. The nursing sister in charge was wonderful. Do everything to keep your staff.
Activities - non-existent. Residents left sitting in the chair all day with nothing to do. For the Christmas party, my dad was left upstairs he missed out on all the fun. It would have been nice for him to have been taken down to see what was going on. Dad pays full price to be looked after for the rest of his life.
I have read all your comments and if you would like to call in and see me on your next visit, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss them further.
Kind regards, Pushpa Sagoo, Care Home Manager.
Good idea to have a communication book for all duty nurses - would improve things.
Carers generally appear very good but only experienced a week of care for mum.

The staff and nurses are always very friendly and very confident in their work, which at times must be very stressful. We find that we also feel secure knowing that the care she receives is of a high standard.

Staff are all kind to my mother-in-law. She enjoys them having a laugh with her. The hairdresser does a good job on her hair. The building is clean and tidy.

When it became time for my longtime friend and neighbour to have to go into a nursing home my daughter and I had the task of looking. We wanted somewhere local and found it! She has never complained. The staff are very caring and are very aware. She is looked after very well, clean, well dressed and happy! Never thought I too would feel content! Knowing that nurses are always there I am so grateful. My friend has dementia. Not able to understand.
My wife and I found the carers, the nurses and the cleaners very kind and helpful to my Mother, my sisters, my wife and myself. No question we asked was too much trouble, evasive or wrong in any way. We were very pleased to meet such nice, kind and caring people. Well done.
Kind regards
My partner has been in the care home for three years in April. Everybody is caring and very kind. All his needs are met. No mobility and Alzheimers but he is very happy and laughs a lot with the staff. The food is very good. I eat with him for some days and he loves his food. I feel that the mail should be put in their room as you have to sort through other mail. I would buy a letter rack.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. I’m delighted that you find our home caring and kind and that our food is of a good standard. Kind regards
My mother has final stage vascular dementia. She is always clean and well cared for by the staff. When I ask for nails to be trimmed I do have to remind staff to do it. Her hair is cut within a few days of me asking. She is fed regularly and records kept of her position changes and fluid intake. Her room is very clean and her laundry is always tidied away. Unfortunately, the furniture in the room is in need of replacing. Drawers are broken. Overall a very good standard of care for my mother.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I’m happy to hear that you are happy with her care and that she is happy, but please do some speak to me about her room. Kind regards, Care Home Manager
My Mother was in the Heathers for over 12 months during that time I could not fault the care she received, the staff were always very attentive to her needs, and very pleasant. I have no hesitation in recommending this home.
